iPod classic(R) Gen 7 160GB - Black
Good Product and Service
I bought this when my first iPod Classic died. It didn't turn on consistently so I took it to a local Gamestop to return it. They were very helpful and super nice about the whole thing and the one I now have works and is in better condition than the original one.
Good quality refurb.
I'm always skeptical about buying things refurbished or otherwise "not new" on-line but this turned out to be one of the good ones. The screen is 100%, no scratches at all and the faceplate looks like it's probably new as well. Only signs of wear are some light scuffs on the back of the case. Click-wheel is solid and works... as well as a click-wheel works, I guess. The included earbuds are completely worthless but I wasn't intending to rely on them anyhow.
All in all, it's a good price on an absolutely huge portable media player. What more could you ask for? Oh... that it doesn't use iTunes. Thankfully you can fix that.
For some reason it really amuses me that there is a tiiiiny little hard disc drive spinning away on the inside of this thing; you can hear it power on and off. In retrospect, I probably would have gone with a smaller model since I didn't actually want to haul ALL my music around with me, just the sorts of things I would want to hear on the go. Ah well.
Only imagine my thrill upon opening the box expecting some scratches and wear and tear only to find what looks and operates like a new ipod. Very satisfied with this purchase way to go gamestop
Very good pre-owned product..
While shopping for a 160GB IPOD at my local Gamestop store, the store associate told me that in addition of what is on hand...that Gamestop has various "quality grades of IPODs". The same Gen7 160GB IPOD has 2 variations ..differentiated by price. The higher price indicates a premium used product (with less scratches, and in overall better physical appearance). I ordered the premium version at the store and within a week I am rocking with my like new IPOD Classic 160GB. Thanks to gamestop for selling decent price IPODs (versus paying double on eBay or craigslist)
Reasonable price for an average refurbished iPod.
Ok, so it's not the greatest choice in the world for a refurbished iPod. BUT it does get the job done. I hook it up to my Xbox and it works just fine. Sound quality is tip-top. Even the earphones and USB plug they send you are promising. Only complaint that I had with mine is that the click wheel sticks really badly sometimes so speed scrolling is hard and aggravating. Could have been maybe $10-20 cheaper though.
Caution - Refurbished means factory reset only
I just received my Ipod in the mail and it's in bad shape. Their idea of refurbished is simply doing a factory restore on the software. My Ipod arrived totally scratched up on the back and a few scratches on the screen and click wheel. They will also not refund your shipping even though the item was misrepresented and arrived in bad shape.
