What is this GameStop PowerUp Rewards® Program thing and why should I care?

It's FREE to join. All you have to do is sign up with your email address and mailing address at your local GameStop and you can immediately start scoring points. As a member, you will also get invitations to member-only events, advance notice of sales, promotions, and other offers.


Provide the associate with the telephone number or email address you signed up with and you'll score points for any new and previously-owned games, consoles, accessories you buy and more! Accumulate and spend your points all year long. Then, choose from a variety of rewards from the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Catalog. Cool, new and exclusive stuff is added all the time!


Go online any time to check out the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Catalog, or we'll let you know that GameStop has added new rewards - like exclusive collector's items or rare game-related rewards and experiences that you would expect from GameStop.

Can anybody enroll?

Just about. Are you at least 13 years old? Legally reside in the U.S.? Have a valid email address and mailing address? If you can say "yes" to all four, you can join.

I'm sold. How do I join?

Either prove your worthiness by providing solid proof of the Loch Ness monster or visit a participating GameStop store. Your choice.

Do I always have to show my membership card at check-out?

It's way faster. But if you must leave your card at home, you can give your phone number or email address to an associate and they'll look up your info. Just be ready to show a second form of ID. And no, you can't bring in your girlfriend or boyfriend to vouch for you.

Can I have multiple membership cards?

No can do! Only one per guest.

Scoring Points

I bought some stuff before becoming a member; can I get credit for it?

Nope. Points can't be scored on purchases made before joining GameStop PowerUp Rewards.

How do I score points?

That's an easy one. Give us the telephone number or email address used to sign up when you make a purchase at a participating GameStop store, and you'll automatically score points for every $1 spent, excluding GameStop gift cards. This little chart breaks it down:

Basic Members:
∙ 10 points per dollar spent on all new games and consoles
∙ 10 points per dollar spent on pre-owned games, accessories and consoles

Pro Members:
∙ 20 points per dollar spent on all new games and consoles

How long does it take for points to post to my account?

They won't be sitting around collecting dust. Points will make their way into your account within something like 24-48 hours after in-store purchase.

Do I score points for buying GameStop gift cards?

GameStop gift cards are excluded from our PowerUp Rewards point promotions.

Do I score points on the value of any reward certificate I use on a purchase in-store?

That would be... no. You do not score points for the amount of any reward certificates redeemed or discounts applied, nor for purchasing a GameStop gift card. You do, however score points on the eligible purchase amount when you use a GameStop gift card.

Do I score points on taxes and shipping?

Sorry. No can do. No points are scored for the value of any taxes or shipping paid.

What happens if I don't show my membership card or mention that I'm a PowerUp Rewards member when I make a purchase?

What happens to the points scored on items I returned to the store?

Points scored for any items returned to the store are deducted from your account.

Do my points ever expire?

Yes, they can. If there are no trades or purchases posted to your account for one year (12 consecutive months), the account is subject to closure and termination, including forfeiture of all accrued points. "Activity" is defined as making a purchase or a trade at GameStop or or making a purchase of Kongregate Kreds on

Can I transfer my points to another member's account?

Aww... how thoughtful of you to want to give your points away to a needy friend. But, you can't. Points are not transferable and may not be combined among GameStop PowerUp Rewards members.

Getting Rewards

Where can I find the current rewards available in the GameStop PowerUp Rewards program?

Log on to the member website at, then select the Rewards Catalog tab to start redeeming for your rewards.

How do I redeem my points?

To redeem your points you must set up your account online by completing your member profile, setting your reward preferences to "stockpile", and adding games to your Game Library. Once set up, you can then select the Rewards Catalog tab to view rewards and start redeeming. Just log in at and select your awesome item from the Reward Catalog.

If you're redeeming points for a merchandise reward, you'll be asked to provide a mailing address and your reward will arrive in 4 - 6 weeks.

If you're redeeming for a reward certificate, you'll get an email confirmation that directs you to go get your printable one-time-use certificate from your member dashboard at Show the associate your certificate on your phone or print it out and enjoy your reward! It's easy!

Partner certificates will come with their own redemption instructions.

Once I redeem my points for a reward certificate, how long do I have to use it before it expires?

Each reward certificate will have an expiration date listed on the certificate. Check it out when you redeem for yours.

Can I give a reward certificate to a friend or family member?

Certificates are not transferable and may not be combined among PowerUp Rewards members or conveyed by any means to anyone.

Do I need to make a minimum purchase with my rewards certificate?

Nope, there's no minimum required. But if your total purchase adds up to less than the value of your rewards certificate, you won't get change or store credit for the difference. In other words, it pays to get something REALLY good.

Can my reward certificate be replaced if it has been lost, stolen or expired?

GameStop is not responsible for any reward certificates that have been lost or stolen, and expired certificates will not be re-instated nor can you get those lost points back from lost, stolen or expired reward certificates. So treat them just like real money.

What if I want to cancel my order?

We process orders quickly so you can start enjoying your reward right away. To cancel an order, contact Guest Care. If your reward order has not been processed, we can cancel the order, no problem. After the order has been processed, we will not be able to cancel it.

Can I return my reward?

Items such as digital coupons and downloadable content cannot be returned. In the case of a physical item - like a t-shirt or belt buckle, for instance - we will accept your one-time, return request if the item is damaged. Please contact Guest Care for information on return eligibility, instructions and assistance.

Setting up my online account

How do I set up my online account?

Easy. Download the GameStop app and click "Activate". Or go to and click "Sign In" in the top right hand corner of the web page. Follow the on screen instructions to complete your profile. You better do it right away, because your account must be set up or you won't be able to redeem points for rewards.

Can I still redeem points if I don't set up my online account?

You must complete your profile in the GameStop app or online at before you can redeem points for rewards.

I can't access my account

Have you already completed your profile?

To complete your profile set up, please visit, and click "Sign In" in the top right hand corner of the web page. Follow the on screen instructions to complete your profile.

Are you using the correct email address to log in?

There are two different types of e-mail addresses that are attached to your PowerUp Rewards account. There is the login e-mail address (used to login to your account), and then there is the contact e-mail address (used when sending you promotions, coupons, etc...). You might have the same e-mail address for both.

Try logging in to your account using the original e-mail address you used when first signing up for your PowerUp Rewards account.

If you do not remember your original e-mail address, please fill out this form, and we will e-mail you back with the correct information.

I forgot my password to login, and I'm not receiving the reset password link in my e-mail.

When requesting a reset password link, you must enter your login e-mail address into the required field.

The reset password link will be sent to both the login and contact e-mail address that we have on file.

If you do not see the email in your inbox within 15 minutes, please check your Junk/Spam folder.

How do I change my login e-mail address?

After you have successfully logged into your account (using the full version, not the mobile version of the website):

1. Click the "My Account" tab
2. This will bring you to your "Personal Info" page
3. Edit the Account E-mail Address.

Unsubscribe from PowerUp Rewards emails

If you'd like to unsubscribe from PowerUp Rewards marketing emails, please fill out this form. Please note this will not remove you from the monthly eSummary list. Since our Reward Points are considered to be a form of monetary value we are legally required to notify you of your account standings once a month. Please allow up to three weeks for all marketing emails to cease.

I lost my card and would like a replacement
