How does the program work - How do I earn points?
Show your PowerUp Rewards Pro™ card when you buy or trade at any participating GameStop location OR enter your PowerUp Rewards Pro™ card number on GameStop.com during checkout and you’ll earn points for every dollar you spend (not including tax) when buying eligible items.

Can I buy stuff with a gift card and still earn my points?
Absolutely. Paying with a gift card is totally fine. You still get your points.

Can I earn points for stuff I buy online?
Yes, you can also earn PowerUp Rewards™ points on eligible items purchased online.

Can I earn points by buying a gift card for someone?
No, you only earn points for actual items. No gift cards. Pretty much everything else, though.

Do I earn different points for buying different things?
Yes. Here’s the breakdown:
  • New games and consoles earn 10 points per dollar.
  • Preowned purchases earn 20 points per dollar.
  • Trades earn 20 points per dollar.
Can I earn points without buying anything?
You bet! For example:
  • Activating your online profile and gaming preferences earns 250 points.
  • Establishing your Game Library earns 250 points.
  • You can also earn points by taking online surveys.
Can I give my points to a friend or family member?
No, sorry. Points are not transferable.

Do my points expire?
Sort of. Points do expire after 12 months, but only if there is no eligible purchase activity on your account that whole time.

If there is any qualified purchase within the year, any points you have are extended for 12 months from that date.

So basically, if you use your card at least once a year, your points will not expire.

What kinds of stuff can I get with my points?
You can get stuff like $5 or $10 gift cards, $5 and $10 off coupons, Xbox Live points, and electronic certificates.

You can also get rewards like trips to Comic-Con or Disney! Each time you buy, you get 2 entries into our monthly Epic Reward Giveaway for a chance to win awesome trips (one transaction per day).

We’ll keep an updated list of all the neat stuff you can get on PowerUpRewards.com.

How do I redeem an electronic certificate?
Just print it and bring it, along with your PowerUp Rewards Pro™ card or ID, to any GameStop location.

Is there a minimum purchase amount when I use my PowerUp Rewards™ certificate?
No. But if the purchase total is less than your certificate amount, we can’t issue store credit or give change for the difference — so try to use it all if you can.

Can my PowerUp Rewards™ certificate be replaced if it’s lost, stolen or expired?
No. Certificates are like cash — they can’t be replaced and points can’t be placed back into the member’s account.

What if I forgot my card?
No problem. Give us your e-mail address and one other form of ID — we can look it up!

What if I lose my card?
Contact Customer Service at 877-676-GAME (4263) and we’ll mail a replacement card to you.

But remember that we can’t transfer a balance from a lost card to a new card, so if you have a card with a bunch of points, it’s just best not to lose it.

Can I have multiple cards?
No. Only one membership per person.

What do you mean by “activate my online profile”?
When you get your card in the store, your membership is created. Then you’ll need to go to PowerUpRewards.com and establish your online profile and Game Library to complete your activation.

Can I still redeem my points if I don’t activate my profile?
No, you have to activate your profile. It’s what gives you your benefits.

How long does it take for my points to show up after I buy something?
About 24-48 hrs. Then they are available for spending.

Can a friend or family member and I each have an account, but use the same e-mail address?
No, each membership must have a unique e-mail address.

What if I want the membership but don’t want to provide my e-mail address?
You have to have a valid e-mail address to enroll into the program. Your e-mail, among other things, is your login. It will also let us look up your account if you’re ever in the store and forgot your card!

Do I have to switch from an Trade card to a PowerUp Rewards™ card?
Yes and no. You can spend your points and credit dollars on the Trade card forever - they're yours and you earned them. But you can only earn new points and get discounts on an Trade card for about another year. After that, only PowerUp Rewards™ cards can earn new points and get discounts.

Does my Trade Card automatically become my PowerUp Rewards™ card?
No, it stays an Trade Card unless you ask to change it.

How does my Trade Card become my PowerUp Rewards™ card?
Come in to any store location with your Trade Card, and we'll transfer your balance over and give you a PowerUp Rewards™ card.

When I sign up - should I use the same email and contact info that's on my Trade Card?
Absolutely. Yes. Please. That way you keep all your history with us.

If I didn't use the same email for my PowerUp Rewards™ card that I did on my Trade card, can I change it later?
Yes. Just go to PowerUpRewards.com and update the preferences in your account.

Can I transfer balances from more than one Trade Card?
No, you are only allowed to transfer a balance from one (1) Trade Card.

Can I bring my Trade Card in later and transfer my balance?
No, you have to do it in the store at the time you enroll.

What if I don’t renew my membership?
We’ll still love you. Your PowerUp Rewards Pro™ membership will just downgrade into a free PowerUp Rewards™ membership. You can continue to earn points and access your online profile with the free account. It just won’t have all the extras.

How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel and get a full refund within 10 days of purchase by returning your card to any participating GameStop store. Obviously, any points or trade dollars you earned will go away. And we'll miss you. A lot.

You don’t have to renew it – there is no expiration. And the points don't go away. They will always be there. So you can always come back.

How do I cancel my membership?
No need to cancel – it’s free and it never expires! But if you really want to, (*sniff*) you can call the customer service number on the back of the card, and they'll (*sniff*) help you.
