Regarding online play, which of platforms will
have online play for Guitar Hero 3?
Online play will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and
Nintendo Wii. PS2 version of Guitar Hero 3 will not have
online play.

What type guitar controllers will be shipping for
Guitar Hero 3?
A wireless controller based on Gibson’s Les Paul guitar
will be used for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PS3.
PlayStation2’s wireless controller is based on the
Gibson Kramer Striker guitar. Note that only the Wii Les Paul will ship with a
white faceplate. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 Les Paul will
ship with a black faceplate.

How is the functionality of the PS3 Les Paul wireless
for the older Guitar Hero games (released on PS2)?
Correction: The new PS3 Les Paul wireless controller
will NOT work at all with any of the Playstation2 Guitar
Hero titles when played on the PS3. We suggest that you
keep your PS2 console around to play the older PS2
Guitar Hero games. Using a PS2-to-PS3 USB adapter, GH1
will work on the PS3 using either the SG or the original
PS2 wireless guitar.

For Xbox 360, will the X-plorer wired controller
work on GH3 and will the Les Paul wireless work on GH2?
The X-plorer will work perfectly fine w/GH3 on Xbox 360.
The Les Paul wireless will have 100% compatibility with
GH2.

Which platforms will have the Guitar Hero 3
standalone game available for purchase?
Standalone Guitar Hero 3 game will only be available for
PlayStation2 and Xbox 360.

Which of the new wireless guitars launching with
Guitar Hero 3 will have removable faceplates?
The Gibson Les Paul wireless guitar for PS3, Xbox 360
and Nintendo Wii will all feature removable faceplates.
The Kramer Striker for the PS2 will not have removable
faceplate.

How many players does Guitar Hero 3 support?
Guitar Hero 3 for all platforms will support a maximum
of two players.

The play and charge kit will NOT work.

What wireless technology is used for the new Les Paul
and Kramer wireless controllers?
Standard RF is used on the PS2 (via adapter) and PS3
(via USB dongle). Native wireless is used for the Xbox
360 Les Paul. As for the Wii Les Paul, the Wii Remote is
used as the transmitter.

What are the details of online play and downloadable
content for Guitar Hero 3?
PS2 will NOT have online play or downloadable content.
PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii will all have online play
at launch. As for downloadable content, that has been
confirmed for Xbox 360 and PS3 at launch. Downloadable
content for the Nintendo Wii is currently TBA.

Which consoles will there be stand alone guitar
controllers available for purchase at launch for

PS2 is the only platform that you will be able to
purchase a separate guitar controller for. At this time,
we do not have an eta or pricing info for all of the
other consoles.

fine when used with all of the old PS2 Guitar Hero
games when played on the PS2?

Will the new Les Paul wireless guitar for the
Nintendo Wii require batteries?
No. The Wii Les Paul wireless guitar will be hooked up
and powered through the Wii remote and won’t require
separate batteries.

Which consoles for Guitar Hero 3 will feature support
for widescreen (16:9) mode?
Guitar Hero 3 for the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo
Wii will all support this play mode.

Is Guitar Hero 3 online play possible between
different consoles?

What batteries are required for the new wireless
guitar controllers?
Two AA batteries are required for the PS3 and Xbox 360
Les Paul and the PS2 Kramer Striker. No additional
batteries are needed for the Wii Les Paul.

Will there be cross platform compatibility between
the different GH3 wireless guitars?
No. This question has appeared here and there and is
mainly meant for owners of PS2/PS3 consoles.

Will there be lefty-specific guitar controllers
released?
The guitars are being built so that the strap will work
for both left-handed and right-handed players, but will
still play better right-handed as they all do. There are
no plans to make a standalone full lefty controller at
this time, but the software does do lefty flip to
compensate.
