Attention, all Evil Collectors
January 20, 2009 at 11:04am
Click the image above for a closer look at the contents of the
Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition.
Or more accurately, "Attention, all
collectors of Resident Evil merchandise." Whether you use
your collection for good or evil is up to you. We received details on the contents of the
Resident
Evil 5 Collector's Edition last week. You'll be ready to fight off the meanest, nastiest batch of
bio-organically transformed mutants of the Resident Evil series with
the contents of this Collector's Edition. You'll get a Chris
Redfield figurine; a BSAA patch, which, we were surprised to learn,
has nothing to do with either the Boy Scouts or Bass and Striper
Angling. You'll also get a Kijuju necklace, which, we were also
surprised to learn, is apparently not a real country and has nothing
to do with those gummy treats you can find at the movie theater. As
a result, we also learned that GameStop has a pretty good dental plan. Also included in the Collector's Edition
is a bonus disc, including a making-of featurette, a digital art gallery and a trailer
for Resident Evil Degeneration. That bonus disc, as well as a
Resident Evil 5 manual, is packed with the game disc in a special
collector's steel-book case. All of this should fit neatly into the
included Tricell messenger bag, but that will leave little or no room for Tricell messengers.
The Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition is available for either
Xbox
360 or
PS3. Although
Resident Evil 5 does not release until March
13, you should reserve your Collector's Edition as soon as possible,
for supplies are limited. Of course, you don't have to order the
Collector's Edition. Standard editions are available for both
Xbox
360 and
PS3,
but then you'll miss out on all that great, non-edible
swag.

What's Hot This Week: January 6
January 6, 2009 at 9:45am
Vote for your favorite game of 2008,
and enter the sweepstakes here. It could pay off in 2009!
Vote for Your Favorite Game: We know
we're only a week into 2009, but we find ourselves waxing nostalgic
about the good ol' days back in 2008. Can you remember back that far? Do you remember all of those great
video games we had back then? We certainly do, and we've compiled
our Top 8 of 2008 list. We picked eight games each for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, DS and PSP.
Although we've narrowed it down to our top eight nominees for each
of those platforms, we couldn't agree on which games should top each
platform category. We tried to settle it with Rock, Paper, Scissors,
but we couldn't agree whether to go "on three" or "after three." So we need your help.
Please visit the
Top 8 of 2008 page and vote for your favorite for
each platform. You can see the results for each platform after you
vote.
While you're there, you should also enter the Top 8 of 2008 Sweepstakes for your chance
to win all eight of the top eight games for the platform of your choice. But hurry because the contest ends soon!
