Star Wars Rogue Squadron III Rebel Strike
"Stay alert, you could run out of space real fast!"
Rogue Squadron is a lot like Star Fox Assault except it's a lot more challenging. Your objectives take a couple tries just to figure out what to blow up sometimes, unless you've got some good perception. Don't get me wrong, I love this game (finally one Wedge is playable in!) And its on foot mission starring Wedge is completely amazing (yet it's the only good one). Basically, you are set to certain levels from the movies, but mostly new ones leading up to the movie things. Take control of an X-wing, Y-wing, B-wing, A-wing, the Falcon, or even the Slave 1 and take off to fight for the Rebellion! Your missions are split up as Luke and Wedge during flight combat and ground missions with a blaster or a lightsaber. If you don't mind being frustrated with a game, this one's a must for a Star Wars fan.
Why couldn't battlefront have graphics this good?
I loved this game! Neat gameplay and all. Not much more to say, other than AWESOME!
next to its predisesors "Best game I ever played"
I remember the Christmas I got this game with my game-cube, I set up my system put the this game in and once I started the game I was blown away. At the time I played this I already had the first game for the N64 and I played the second game a lot of times at my friend's house and I was oh so thankful that my ride with the series was able to continue. Right now I have all three RS games and the prequel that takes place during Episode 1 (I didn't enjoy that game as much as the RS trilogy) and let me tell u ...best set of games Ive ever played. They all have there own strengths and weaknesses.
As for this one just about every thing is Incredible in this game. First, It has excellent replay value, you can play a co-op version of the second game, play 2 player VS, and play two of the classic star wars arcade games, FOUR GAMES IN ONE HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT. Second, the graphics look down right fantastic and they still look amazing today especially when compared to today's standards. The last reason is the controls, I didn't know how they were going to pull of all the missions that require you to use a speeder or a walker instead of an x-wing or A-wing but some how they did it and boy did they make it work. The only con in this game is that the on-foot missions are kind of boring and you have to play through them quite a bit of times to progress.
bottom line- This game is magnificent and If you are a star wars fan or you like multi-player games to play with your friends, trust me this game is a wise choice.
good for hard core players.
good for hard core players I could never pass level 2 where your on a speeder and dodging rocks so I sold the game on ebay and got $4.00 for It.
I first played this game at a friends house. I was fairly skeptical at first, because, after all, it is Game Cube, and I had never heard of it. However, I was blown out of the water. It's a great game to play multi-player, the single-player missions leave a little to be desired. For this price, it is a great game, giving years of great fun, and it's got cheat codes :).
Another Score for GC owners.
Just as good as 2. The series, as well as the RE repolished games ( original-3) keep my old GC on the shelf in my living room, and out of my attic, or traded in for store credit. A MUST have for GC owners!
I LOVE this awsome game
i love this awsome game, i suggest this to any aged star wars, if u drive an AT-ST walker, u feel like a world dominator of the rebels!!!
Worth the play!
If you're a "hardcore gamer" with picky standards, there's probably going to be some factors in this game that you won't like. However, if you like Star Wars - or any science fiction, for that matter - and just want a good and fun game to play, I recommend this! There are a few pros and cons so this game. Lets start off with the CONS: 1) The multiplayer in this game isn't that impressive. There's only a few random missions that don't correlate with each other and it's actually difficult to unlock the next mission with how the medal system works. It's still fun if you're up to dealing with those issues, though. 2) The ground work in this game takes awhile to get used to. It might have been my old controller, but the camera angles made it super hard to control the toggle. 3) The graphics aren't the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. Now with the PROS: It's a fun plot! It basically starts after the Battle of Yavin and goes until the Battle of Endor, however there are only a few special missions that you unlock that directly relate to the Star Wars original trilogy, so at least it's new materials. 2) It's not too easy! I find it hard to find a game that actually takes time and effort to complete. This isn't one you finish up in a day's time. 3) I really like the medal system in the game. To unlock certain missions to move on with the storyline, you have to use points accumulated by the medals you earn (bronze, silver, and gold). To earn a medal, you have to reach the certain standards for that medal, such as through accuracy, enemies kills, time, etc. 4) It's one you can actually replay. I've had it for 10 years now and it's still a good one to revisit.
this game is ok
this game is ok because you dont have a lot of lives and if if it says game over you start all over and thats sucks but the good things are you have cool spaceships and cool people and good guns and thats why i think this is a ok game.
Not as good as the previous two
This game somewhat departs from the classic Rogue Squadron formula by adding on foot levels, speeders, and other vehicle levels. The graphics are arguably the best of the generation and the sound is spectacular especially in surround sound. Unfortunately the on foot levels lack the thrill of the levels in vehicles and flying craft. Good game for any Star Wars fan. Weakest in the series but still good.
