Rated 8 out of 10 by Johny7548 My fav Spongebob game
This is a great game in my opinion loosly based on the Spongebob Squarepants Movie, and I recommend watching the movie first. Also, don't be surprised at how hard this game is just because it's a Spongebob game, which is a reason I gave the challenge a 9/10, because it completly fools you into thinking it's an easy game since it's a Spongebob game and because it easy at first, but once you get to the middle, things change. The controls are pretty good, except in driving parts, but you'll get used to it. The music it not outstanding, except the Gooffy Goober Rock song at the end, but it won't annoy you. The storyline could be better, but sometimes it doesn't make sence or it's not based on the movie, like Patrick hitting Goofy Goober employies for no reason or David Hasseeloholf dropping them off in a random place and letting them walk to the Krusty Krab unlike the movie. Al in all, this is a game which will be enjoyed mostly by kids but nonetheless is still a great game to play while it lasts.
Rated 10 out of 10 by razmytaz VARIETY,PRETTY SCENES. EXCELLENT GAME!!
For the reasons stated above, I thought tihis was the BEST GAME I've ever played...but that's not many. Hated Zelda, too tough. Loved "Lolo" but can't find anymore. But THIS game was a ton of fun. Played w/grandson (age 5). As for "moves" it runs the gamut - walking, running, jumping, jump&spin, summersault, cartwheel, etc. Swinging, lasso-ing on ground & mid-air; 'bowling' move for Spongebob; racing; battles; driving a VERY SILLY car - the burger-mobile. Will be difficult for the very young, like my grandson, as it involves much "good-timing".I still haven't mastered the tub-race on garden hose, in Shell City giftshop, nor can I drive the "car" very well, at all. ALL IN ALL, THO, IT'S A TON OF FUN - ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU FINALLY WIN A CHALLENGING LEVEL!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ACTION GAME !!!!! Only ONE "CON" - u must complete certain parts of the game, in order to continue on. If you can't do it, ask another teenager - that's what we did. ENJOY !!
Rated 8 out of 10 by Videogamer10 A very good game
One thing, you will enjoy this game more if you watch the movie. You play as SpongeBob or Patrick, each with their own powers, such as for SpongeBob, the Guitar and the Bowling Ball, and for Patrick, pick/throw, and the cartwheel. This is not a challenging game at first, then you get to the racing (where I think is a weak point in this game) which is hard to get down at first. Once you get towards the middle and end, it gets really challenging. The storyling is good, but only good because many parts are not based on the movie and don't make much sence (like Patrick hitting the Goffy Gobber employes for no reason). The sound fits the game and won't annoy you. This game might seem long at first, but it's how hard it is that takes time to master. I passed this game in two months playing four days a week for one hour. It will take you aroung that time. This is an overall great game and I give it an 8.7 out 10

This is an amazing, colorful game. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it to my friends is because they're probably too old to play it. The only things that are bad about this game is that the graphics are OK; as in the walking animations and everything are perfect, but there is a buttload of glitches in almost every level, even though they're fun to try because they'e always weird. Also, the lasting appeal is great, it was my first video game, which I got when I was 6 along with a Gamecube, and 8 years later at age 14 I still love to play it (if I could find it), but I have to keep on deleting files to make new ones because for the replay value the only thing to do is restart. I delete all the files except for my oldest one that I started when I was 6. It is my all time favorite game.

As always, a video game with Spongebob Squarepants is fun and adventurous. A great companion to the Spongebob series and the movie as well. With similar graphics and gameplay, this is very much a pseudo-sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom. If you've played that, then you will definitely enjoy The Movie game. I don't think it tops B4BB, and when I play The Movie I start to miss the plot and complexity of B4BB. One critique: the cutscenes are screen caps of the animated movie... I get it. But it kind of jars me out of the gameplay mood. None the less, a great, great game with a lot of fun and sponge-filled action.
Rated 8 out of 10 by DKandDK great movie great game
This is my favorite spongebob game ever created. unlike most movie games this one was really good. the gameplay is good in most areas, one problem with it though is that it could be too hard at certain areas of the game. The driving was fun and challenging and has a reallynice tune to it. Actually the tunes were great in all levels and if it werent for a few bad sound effects the sound would be recieving a 10. The rest of the game is fun but eventually gets really hard surprisingly. the replay value is great and you will always want to come back and replay tis game. oh and this might just be me but I think this game would have done better if it had something new to offer to adventure games. overall, i definetely suggest buying this game.
Rated 9 out of 10 by shadowtoast The best Spongebob game there ever was or will be
This is probably nostalgia talking, but this is one of my favorite 3D platformers of all time. The game is basically Battle for Bikini Bottom except more straightforward, and instead of Sandy, you drive the Patty Wagon, which I think was a smart move, since Sandy wasn't in the movie for more than 10 seconds. Not to mention it adds more variety. The music is catchy, the control is solid on all fronts, the combat is surprisingly competent (if extremely simple), and while the graphics haven't aged well, they're not butt-ugly by any means, and the visual gags still work. Also, I warn you, if you decide to get all the Goofy Goober Tokens, don't expect a spectacular bonus for it, because the secret ending is pretty underwhelming. But still, I'm not saying you shouldn't 100% the game, because it's so friggin fun, and I have so many good memories with it. The definitive version of the game at this point in time is the PlayStation Network version, which is no longer on the PlayStation Store for whatever reason, BUT you can still buy the code on this very website, GameStop.com, for $10, which is a really good price for such a well-crafted game. Heavy Iron Studios is the only licensed game developer I've ever heard of who actually cared about the quality of their content, and I hope that this game and BFBB get the recognition they deserve someday.

Playing most of the spongebob games that have come out on different console, I have to say this one was the best of all time. The gameplay was amazing and at the time the graphics were pretty good for the GameCube. Overall great game that is fun and challenging to all gamers!
