Rated 10 out of 10 by Resident Evil pro Really good RE game
This is one of the best Resident Evil games i have ever played. It's a whole new game taking place before the original in the mansion starring Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen (new RE character). Whats different about this RE is that instead of having two seperate stories for each character like in RE 1 and 2, you control them both at the same time. Using them both you can complete puzzles by switching between the two and splitting them up to do different things. The graphics are very good too for a gamecube game. In my opinion it is one of the harder resident evil games, mainly because you have to take care of both characters at once. Such as sharing herbs and ammo. One other thing that makes the game tough is that there are no item boxes! Which means you have to drop items and go back to where you dropped them when you want to pick them up again because you can't store them in boxes. Ya that's really lame. But all in all a REALLY good RE and if your into the series or just starting them I recommend picking this one up.

This game works with the others. It really does! The graphics are flawless! This is an extremely scary game and you CAN say that this CAN be compared with Resident Evil 1 or even Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the PS2. It's up there, I must say! There is a challenge to this game and it does give you the 'I can die at any second' feeling. So, pretty much, you're stuck in a train at the begininng of the game because you have found a body eaten by 'a creature' near a train, so you and your crew split up. You go in the train and find a man maybe, the same age as you and it takes a while for him to help you out because, you keep on tellong him "I could handle myself." Well, he decides to save you from a huge monster You should be relieved now that you didn't have to fight a monster that BIG this early! If you liked other Resident Evil games you will like this one. If you think the story doesn't make sense...Well I don't know what to tell ya!

this game came out right after Resident Evils re-release on the Nintendo Gamecube and takes place right before the events in Resident Evil, in fact that's why Jill and Chris (the main characters of re, members of S.T.A.R.S. alpha team) are deployed to the forest of Raccoon city, so the story does make sense. the story takes place in the training facility of the Umbrella Corporation in the Arklay Mountains which also happens to be right near the mansion the re takes place in. this game is on the same level as re its all about puzzles ammo conservation and survival, as you play you really play for your life, and with the cool new feature of a computer based "co-op" you have someone to back you up as well as carry ammo for you, but most importantly many times you two will be split up but the actions of one may effect the other somewhere else.
if you love re then you will love this game, its like the newly made re of gamecube just different characters and a new terrifying story, perfect for any zombie killing, survival loving fanatic
Rated 10 out of 10 by goatchoker By far the best way to dive in to resident evil
Resident evil zero is a game based before everything. Even the mansion incident. So pretty much I'm just here to say that this is by far the easiest resident evil you will ever play. Way easier than 4! So I suggest you get it. Because it has all of the original spice but none of that sloppy controls and messed up camera angles. But the sound is great and you still have all of those great scares that make up a horror game. The game even gives you a sense of adrenalin at certain times you have to do thing before time runs out. And as for the puzzles their still really cool. But this time you don't have to graduate Stanford university as a forensics major to figure out where half the stuff goes. I had a really good experience with this game. But the only problem i had with it is that it's only on games cube... so if you have a gc or a wii get it

I bought this game a few days ago, and I must say, it has some horrible controls. The way you move around is so difficult, that it is in fact the hardest part of the game. Besides for the bad movement controls, it is a fairly decent game. The graphics are what you can expect for a GameCube, but the whole reason to buy the game is for the storyline. It is the prologue to the mansion incident. It tells the story behind the story. If you are a Silent Hill fan, you will like the way this game is set up. You have to find little insignificant items that will help you later on in the game, even though you don't feel like carrying them. Well, all in all, I will say that this game is worth buying, but be warned that you will be fussing at your TV when your character has to move.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Deaththysoul The worst resident evil I've played.
I've played three resident evil games which isn't many, but this is the worst of them not very enjoyable. The pros: graphics that still hold up well, and decent puzzles, also an ok story. The cons: not many scares, the controls aren't perfect like #4, characters are a bit one dimensional, and you have to do a large amount of backtracking which is ok if you have alot of time to play video games, but it isn't for me. I wanted to play throught the series game by game beginning with zero, however this game really turned me off I played resident evil 4 and revelations; enjoyed them a good amount so I probably will still play through the rest. With that said I warn all others who want to do the same to go straight to number 1 not zero.

So I remember way back years and years ago, I saw this blockbuster commercial. It showed someone running down a hall and this giant spider crawling on the ceiling, it looked freaking awesome. I have been a fan of the RE series since the real beginning. The story of this is just crap. Do you remember why the stars team went to the forest/mansion? They went to rescue the bravo team. Well in zero you are the bravo team. Don’t you remember in the original RE playing as Jill at the very beginning you run into berry, or as Chris you run into Rebecca. Zero wasn’t that long before the original. What about the virus, didn’t it start as the unstable g-virus later redeveloped into the t-virus. Well another mistake this is about the t-virus and some parasite/slug things, and one thing that makes me the most upset is the mansion. Why is it all different, it is the same mansion right? It’s all dilapidated, later in the games you learn the mansion was a cover for the labs underground... this story doesn’t begin the RE saga. It ruins it, if this is how it began every other game in the series is a lie. Pity I have been waiting to play this game for years. If you like storyline to make sense and have been a fan of the RE games... Stay away, far away from this one.

Zero is a great game in the resident evil series. Maybe not quite as good as some of the others but definately up there. Its really a good game for any resident evil fan or any gamer who enjoys puzzles and zombies. As for everyone who complains about the controls, its not that they're difficult, you're just not used to them. Movement is very easy, UP always moves you forward, DOWN always moves you backwards, LEFT turns you left and RIGHT turns you right. simple.
