Pikmin, Pikmin... My first exposure to anything related to it was playing Super Smash bros. Brawl at a friend's house, and trying to play as Olimar, and not exactly being successful. Then, I got this game in February this year, and instantly fell in love with it. It has everything that one could ask for; Great Visuals, Textures, etc., A good story, An interesting concept, and best of all, a new and original franchise.
You start off with a small cutscene opening, where Captain Olimar is piloting his ship, the Dolphin[that's a small pun,] when he is hit by an asteroid of sorts. He then crash-lands on a strange planet, a little bit similar to our Earth, in appearance.
I don't wish to spoil anymore, but I will say, you can easily find this on the GameCube shelf at almost any GameStop for only $9.99, less if you have your PowerUp card. :D
I will say, although it can be a little short, the Challenge Mode, in which you go and try to raise as many Pikmin as possible in one "Day", is an excellent side-game.
That is all.

This game really blew my socks off. I remember playing this like 5 years ago. I was so intrigued with it that I bought it for my Wii. The game has a great storyline, and the controls are amazingly simple. The game is cute enough where my 9 year old sister can play it, and it is challenging to the extent that I can feel my heart rate jump when I am fighting a boss. The graphics are what you expect from Nintendo, cute, cuddly and very bright. The music is nice touch, and I cannot get over the sounds of pikmin. This has to be my favourite game made by Nintendo ever. overall, I would give it a 9/10. The only flaw is that you have a short time span(30 days) to finish the game. With a game this fun for all ages, what is there not to like(except for losing all your little blue, red and yellow buddies)? Note: You may know this already, but if you get it for the Wii, make sure you have a GC controller, Wii Remotes do not work on this. Also get memory card, when I bought Pikmin I didnt have one, and since you cant save it to the Wii's internal memory I spent a couple of weeks doing the first level.

this is the best game ever. this was my first game i got this game when i 4 and i still have it i never stop playing it . bad thing:the length of the game is so short it takes 4 ever 2 kill a boss and most of the time my pikmin get killed:( good thing:as a kid i like a good challenge pikmin has the challenge i was looking 4 i recommend this game 4 every person that has a wii or game cube story:in the beginning our hero takes a vacation and his ship is hit be a meteorite and his ship is sent hurdling toward a blue planet wile his ship enters the atmosphere it falls a part when almar regains conciseness he finds out that his ship is half gone and he finds out that he has only 30 days 2 rebuild his ship or he will die on the planet.later he discovers this thing he calls and onion later he finds this little animal\alien thing he calls pikmin. so he uses these pikmin to help him rebuild his ship.there are red pikmin the strongest and can resist fire. there are yellow witch can be thrown higher and can pick up bombs and stuff. and last blue that cans breath under water. if u like pikmin one ur gonna live pikmin 2 trust me
Rated 10 out of 10 by WisemanEpsilon A great emotional title.
I think the story is actually very emotional. A stranded captain who is almost bound to die on a distant planet finds a sliver of hope when he meets these little creatures he names "Pikmin." (hence the title) You have to command the Pikmin to help you rebuild your ship within 30 days so you can return home and escape the deadly planet. As the Pikmin help him rebuild his ship he starts to form bonds with them, and I personally formed them too. I felt genuinely sad when a Pikmin dies in combat. While I won't spoil things, I will tell you there are 3 endings, A good,(rebuild your ship in its entirety) a bad, ( don't collect the essential parts for your ship) and a sort of happy ending (collect the essentials but don't get all of the parts) If you've ever heard it, the song Ai No Uta by Stawberry Flower (a couple of Japanese singers) was made to advertise this song in Japan, and if you listen to it and actually know what it means, it really adds to the emotion. Listening to that song and looking up the english lyrics made me feel sorry for the little creatures I commanded around. Its an amazing game and you need it. Buy a gamecube/wii if only just for this game.

Rated 9 out of 10 by looooooooloooooooooolooooooooo The 5th best gamecube game I have ever played.
This is one of the best games that I have played. The controls are simple the graphics are amazing and very unique Characters and enimes. STORY LINE: Captain Olimar(the main character) has gone out for a vacation in space when he thought every thing was going smooth he gets hit by a asteroid and plummits down to a very strange location. GAME PLAY: Where do I start well first of all the game play is very smooth and easy to learn to move you use the control stick (has I call it)to move Olimar. When you get the Pikmin to come out of the onion press the A button to pluck him up he will then start following you to get more Pikmin you can kill enimes and take them back to your onion or grab flower caps.(I dont know what they really are called)You can dismiss pikmin by pressing the X button and can throw them by pressing A.You will be using the A button alot in this game there are also some more controls but I dont want to spoil anything. HISTORY: The originle idea for this game was about watching the development of two peoples bodys that got canned.(Thank god)One day Myamoto was in his garden and noticed all the animles and creatures playing around and thus Pikmin was born. OVERALL: Overall I give this game an 8/10 I highly suggest getting this game its really good best out there for gamecube.

I really enjoyed this game. it was my fourth video game ever. In the game you have to control a group of little workers that each have their own special powers Blue = breath under water, Red = survive flames. yellow = pick up bombs and survive electricity and can be thrown higher. You have to collect all the pieces of a broken spaceship before time runs out or else you have to restart the game. It is fun to explore the many terains and meet cool looking enemies. The two problems with this game are the poor graphics and the time limit is too short for the number of parts you have to collect. BUY THIS GAME if you love commandoing battalions and it is worth the money.

Picmin is a RPG/ stratagy. It's fun. It's an easy game however once get to the end it's really hard. In the final level you have to use a lot of statagy. It's also a RPG on account of how many picmin you have may inpact the game. Now what are picmin? They're little creatues that remind Captain Olamar of pic pic carrots. Their are three diffrent picmin. Red, yellow and blue. Reds are resttaint to fire and the stongest . Yellows can pick up bombs and are the the highest jumpers. Blues can go in the water. Puzzles, rpg, and stratagy all on the same game.

This game is very fun. You play as Olimar, an alien who has crashed on a distant planet (Very similar to Earth, though they don't mention the name of the planet) and has lost 30 of his ships parts. Soon after he's crashed, he realizes that he only has 30 days to which he will be able to survive due the (poisenous) oxygen. He then finds a plant-like object that he pulls out of the ground to find that its a being of some sort in which he names "Pikmin". He pulls more of these beings out and uses them to find his lost ship parts. At some points in the game, it will get hard to find a ships part before sunset but you should be able to get it right after a couple of tries. This is probley one of my favorite GameCube games, and in my opinion it is one of the most innovative and essential games of the 6th generation (1998-2005 or 128bit era) The gameplay is very fun. The controlls can get confusing at times but not to bad and overall easy and fun. I think it took me about 7 to 10 hours to beat all together. The graphics and landscapes are amazing. This would probley be my second favorite game on the GC, as far as graphics, behind Super Mario Sunshine. I have never played Pikmin 2 but I want to, I am waiting for the price to go down on the sequel ($35 is a little much for me). Anyway this game is very fun and innovative. I highly suggest getting it if you are looking for a good GameCube game or just a good game in general. Pick it up.

Pikmin is a great game for everybody. It never gets old! Captain Olimar crash landed on a distant planet and his life tank system fails in 30 days with 30 ship parts to collect. Only 25 are required to make the ship run. Pikmin is a real time strategy game. You must plot your schedule to collect ship parts. Not only is this game strategic, but frustrating. If you need a new video game, and you have a Wii or Game Cube this is what you want. I can see nobody hating this game. For Game Cube it's only $10.00! A cheap price for an outstanding game.
