NHL Hitz - Used
Great for new sports gamers!
The game is great if your just getting into sports/hockey games. Its def. worth the rental just to play it, it's exciting in that it lots of action and is a fast pace game. However, after playing through the game modes, buying everything in the shop and having your team souped up to the max, the game looses it's since of purpose and leaves the gamer bored. Also if you and your friend have gotten to be so good at playing the game, the multi-player games turn into a hitting contest and who-ever can score the most one-timer shots. SPOILER ALERT!!!! The one-timers go in ALL THE TIME. (Another fault in the game) Overall if you buy the game, get it used! Happy mashing!
NHL Hitz 2002...one of the best games of all time.
NHL Hitz (2002, but generally referred to as just NHL Hitz) is a fantastic game all around. From loading up the game and hearing a hockey-related Limp Bizkit song that gets the adrenaline pumping to creating your own very personizable (you know what I mean) player to using him along with other hockey legends in what is basically an all out free for all on the ice with a little bit of some amazing goals--this game is an all around winner. The soundtrack, as I stated above, is very satisfactory. Limp Bizkit's personalized-to-hockey song "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" is a strong track to pick for this game and it is a great one at that. NHL Hitz's player creator/customization engine is very streamlined and very easy to use. You can edit any player you wish, but it is also possible to create an entirely new player... such as yourself! You can edit just about every statistic you want and it shows in the game as well who's good and who's... well... not so good. Ice time is really this game's main attraction, however. Not only is the gameplay very nicely laid out, but the hitting engine is top of the line to this day. I have to tell you, there is nothing like knocking out a player straight on to the ice... or completely out of play by hitting him straight through the glass! One-timers, some amount of deking, a good passing engine, and some great goalie animations really show how well-made this game is. Another amazing feature of this game is the limitless combinations and customization options there are. For example, as you progress through the game, you earn credits and can unlock a number of arenas, jerseys, equipment, and much more. I have to say though, the arenas are the fantastic part... there's nothing like playing on the moon where there's (and this is actually portrayed in the game) zero-gravity! All-in-all this game is a one-of-a-kind experience. I've enjoyed playing it day after day over the years since it came out... and you will too with all of the game's phenomenal features.
