metal gear was great on the sega i rember when metal gear came out and then metal gear solid came out. it was also a good game and then this game came out for the game cube now i didnt have a gamecube but i bought one for this game only and that was when they were about a 130$ and about 50$for the game and it was well worth it. i also bought a ps3 just for the 4th one and once you play all of the games you feel so great im 29. at 5 i started play metal gear and it has been 24 year to end my time plyaing as solid snake. it was sad but i play the old games still and this is one of the best one out there along with snake eater but this one is the best one you get a gun veiwer wich you didnt untill this one and the 2 game but some part are stupid like when snake on the tower and the hind comes up and he says if only i had a rope.... I should be able to use that rope i got but other than that it a cool game you should buy it if you get the chance.

It's been a long time since a game made me smile. I may not have played the original MGS, but I know that this remake is a fantastic game. It has a such a touching and unforgettable story. Yet, it still manages to be a really funny game. The humor is put in all the right places, so it's not obnoxious. The game-play is really well thought out. There are to many games, old and new, that are just about running-n'-gunning. This is a stealth and sneaking game, that requires THOUGHT. The game-play and story really make you feel like you would if you were in these kinds of situations. I've had fun with a lot of games, but it's been a long time since a game really made me smile. I really think you can't call yourself a gamer, unless you have a great respect for the Metal Gear series. Maybe the original was better for some people, but all I know is that this game is amazing. It's sure to bring great memories.
Rated 10 out of 10 by da bear very good game!!
I just got this game and it beats all metal gear solid games! The storyline is pretty short though but the graphics and gameplay of metal gear solid 2 definitely make up for it. I definitely recommend this game. I couldn't put it down when I got it, and one of the funnest games I ever played. Don't be fooled by anyone ever telling you that it is not worth it because it is a very good game! It is definitely worth the $** and it is definitely worth every penny of the $**. I would still buy it if the game was $** because the game is that good. Just remember it is one of the best games I ever played and it will be one of the best games you ever played and I am sure of that. It is a remake of metal gear solid 1 and definitely a very good one with better graphics and the gameplay of metal gear solid 2, one of the best games ever. Remember it's worth every penny and more! Remember, it's a very good game!

MGS is definatly a game that you want to play. I dont care who you are, just like Resident evil, gamecube has reanimated a great classic adding the ability to drag bodies and hang over ledges and it totally blew my mind with the graphics! its no ps3 game but WOW! for the gamecube, its awesome! its exactly like the original only greater graphics. If you have never played this game before, or you have but on the ps1, you have to get this game. Its one of those games that you have to play at least once in your lifetime, kinda like pacman lol. And after you play this, PLAY THE SEQUELS!!! the MGS series is just a phenominal story line! although it may get confusing sometimes with solid snake and naked snake( naked snake is solid snake's dad), and all of solid snakes brothers, it just engulfs you in this classic storyline! play this game!

Ever since Super Smash Brothers Brawl, I planned to play all the character's games. Last on my list was Metal Gear Solid. I had a played a bit of the original PS game and honestly it felt a bit clunky to me, gameplay wise, though as far as the Play Station goes the graphics were beautiful. Anyway, I picked up Twin Snakes and let me tell you was I drawn into this game right away. I thought I hated it at first because I kept dying but, I kept trying and trying until I got it down and I'm loving it. This game really feels smooth and I love all the added things like being able to drag the bodies. It just improves upon the original. The only flaw is tha some of the new mechanitcs make the game too easy. I never thought I'd get into Metal Gear but now I have thanks to this game!
Rated 5 out of 10 by Sobe Play the original instead
The original game is amazing. I am a huge fan of Metal Gear series, I have played every metal gear games except for the one on super Nintendo. but this remake is a disappointment !! beside from the great graphic this game ruin everything that was good from the original on the PS1. I bought a game cube just to play this game and i return everything the next day. my suggestion to you is, if you missed Metal Gear solid, play the original one on the ps1. and if this review wont convince you not to buy this game then head out to Game stop and pick a copy up today because you can return it and get your money back.
Rated 10 out of 10 by ArcaneVagrant Perfect for MGS fans
This game is an awesome remake of the original. If your one of those people that never had the chance to buy MGS1 (like me) but played other games from the series, this is definitely recommended. It has great graphics for being in the gamecube and it extremely fun and of course challenging to play. The controls are a little weird because its a GC controller but you get used to it in time. Other than that, its a classic in the series
Rated 10 out of 10 by GCXBU The Best Remake of MGS from PSOne
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes happens to be my very first game I bought on the GameCube. And it is consider the number one best game on the GameCube back then. This game is the reason for owning a GameCube. Just like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time being the number one reason for owning the 3DS. Anyways, the whole game is fantastic and well put to the voice acting. Because that was the biggest change compared to the PlayStation One version. The only thing I found distracting so much is the voice acting. The original on the PlayStation, the voice acting was very fast. It's like they wanted to get it done and over with. But on the remake, the voice acting is way too overreacting. Meaning by that, it's kinda slow and delayed. That's the only thing that bother me the most. Except for the extra movements of the characters on the cutscene. For example; Solid Snake dodging bullets from Meryl's FAMAs after meeting with the DARPA Chief, aka: Decoy Octopus. "Sorry for the spoiler on that!" The whole gameplay, graphics and sound is simply the best! Just like how the song title is called: "The Best Is Yet To Come." And guess what that was after the original on the PSOne? You get Twin Snakes on the GameCube. Everything in that game is very well put and satisfying to all the Metal Gear Solid fans wanting to get their hands on this game along with the games on the PlayStation 2 with Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater! If you are a Metal Gear fan, I highly recommend buying this game. If not, it's worth buying it and playing the game. Because you will enjoy everything on this game inside and out!!
Rated 9 out of 10 by Jimbov889 Great Game
The Twin Snakes is a remake of the original classic Metal Gear Solid. I will start off by saying that this game is a great game but there are some flaws in it. One big problem is that the environment was made for the original 1998 game which poses a problem with the new gameplay. A good example of this is the Ocelot fight in the beginning of the game. In the original I would even go as far as to say that it is a mildly challenging fight, in the Twin Snakes however, the fight becomes ridiculously easy. The reason? The room and the fight in the 98 original was made so that you would have to chase Ocelot or find a way to shoot him just right while avoiding his gunfire. In the Twin Snakes you just go into first person view and then just shoot him. This takes the challenge out the entire fight! Controls? The Gamecube controls are different from the PS2 for obvious reasons but the Gamecube lacks pressure sensitive buttons making holding your fire kind of tricky and your hands may get cramped. Another thing is that while the graphics look great, the game often lags, especially when you enter alert mode or get seen. And along with the lagging sometimes things don't sync up, like when you hold up a guy and shoot him and he still manages to say, "Don't shoot!" even after a bullet has been planted in his brain. One main factor is that it does not have the impact of the original 98 title. It was ahead of it's time and that sort of takes something out of the gameplay, it just doesn't feel the same. Bottom line, The Twin Snakes is a great game and it is worth a buy, but it will live in the shadow of the monumental original title, Metal Gear Solid.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Ragar Great Story line
This is one of those games that the more you play it the better it gets, and if you don't give in during the torture scene you will get Meryl's ending, it is an extremely good ending to an amazing story.
