Mega Man Anniversary Collection
When I first saw this online, I was really excited to buy it because I was a Megaman fan, but couldn’t play all of them because only the first 5 of them were on the virtual console. Then when I saw a play-through of Megaman 7 online, I instantly wanted to play it, along with all of the other games that I missed. This is a direct port of the first 8 Megaman games, along with 2 games previously unreleased in the US. If you have never played a Megaman game before, you play as a robot created by a scientist to kill the evil Dr.Wily who is trying to take over the world with the robots that he has created. There are 8 of them in every game except Megaman 1. Each of them have a special stage. They each have great graphics, and each level plays out differently, with a boss at the end. Once you have defeated each of them, you go into the villains hideout, and after a few more stages, you fight the final boss. Each game in the series is pretty short, taking only 2 or 3 hours to beat. Although that might be discouraging, the difficulty will make the game much longer and practice will be the main way of beating a stage and the boss. The controls of this game are good, except for the fact that the A and B buttons are switched around. Why did they feel that they had to do that? If you haven’t played a Megaman game before, this won’t bother you, but if you have, many times you will accidentally jump instead of shoot and shoot instead of jump, although after a few hours of playing, I got the hang of it. The music is catchy and original to this day, and the graphics are some of the nes/snes best. The game-play is really original, although some of the games feel identical to one another. Now the price is only $9 which is a steal, especially for the amount of high quality games they give you. Some people might not like this game because of the difficulty, but with this price, it is definitely worth a try.
its good if your a capcom or megaman fan or if your like platformers or if your a kid or if you are a fan games
I don't like this, but you might
because I've heard about how great mega man is, I knew I had to try this game, but when I did, I was disappointed in the inability to shoot up in all the games, and some mini bosses in some games are to hard to beat. but, the strategy and retro difficulty appeals to many gamers. I don't like this collection much, but if you grew up with mega man or you're looking for a challenge, you're in luck with this
Rockman is back
This game brings back all of the old school megaman games that were released on the nes over 20 years ago. I wasn't born in the 80's so i did not get to experience the orginal games until i got this on Gamecube. This game is not that much different from the nes game, but it shares the difficulty. This game is hard and sorry gamers you can not use the Game Genie to cheat this time. To unlock games you must beat the game before the other and this makes the situation twice as hard. If you already know what to do and which level to challenge first, this game will be a piece of cake. This game also includes Arcade megaman games which make the experience even exciting. If you like megaman games you will enjoy this alot.
rock and roll
Mega man is one of capcoms most beloved and most popular series ever.It is a very unique series let alone the fact it has awesome story line. The gameplay is very fun and easy to use.The graphics are the best i have ever seen on the NES even though this is now and that was then the graphics are still great. The sound is really neat listening to.There is a reason this was so popular back in the day it had the best graphics unique gameplay and story you couldn't find anywhere else but also the boss's were the best part of the experience i have to say and this game is soul crushingly hard but is very fun,and this is the only way to play mega man 6,7 and 8 (the others are accesible through virtual console) because number 6 is only on nes,7 is only on the SNES,and 8 is only on the sega saturn and the playstation...
Old School Fun!!
Those who did not grow up during the 80's probably aren't familiar with the classic Megaman Series. Rockman's original adventures are among the most challenging and rewarding action platformers in gaming history. These games are "brutal"! You will die and die often and are not recommended for those new to gaming or easily discouraged. Only the most determined players will succeed. Each game starts off with the ability to pick your path to face off against Dr. Wily's devious robotic monstrosities. Defeating each robot master will add their abilities to your own, many of which are required to destroy other bosses in different stages. Figuring out the order of defeat is half the fun. As you progress through all 8 games special bonus features are unlocked. For some strange reason the A and the B button on the GameCube version of this game have been reversed from the NES classics without any option to change which may disorient those familiar with the original releases. Despite the button reversal, I still strongly recommend it to anyone looking for an old school challenge. Megaman Anniversary Collection is a great trip down memory lane and a great opportunity to brush-up your skills for the newly released Megaman 9 that revisits the classic look and gameplay of the originals. Have Fun!!
