the turnbasedRPG game for GC
Let me start off by saying if you donot like adventure, turnbased combat, and RPG elements(a lot of them) then you will not like this game. If you think you would at least give a game with that description a 51% then get this game. Your characters have lots of armour upgrades. You can find lots of stuff or skip that part and make it harder by useing lighter armour and fewer items. This game also has an evil mode that will let you play as the bad guys on the main encounters for each chapter. The bad thing about evil mode is past the first encounters of a chapter it get easier by giving you better health and attacks. The last sentece aside evil mode is really fun. This is a must have for LotR fans.

Good, but repetitive
The Lord of the Rings The Third Age is a great game whether you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings or not. The battle system in this game is good, but battles tend to boil down to the same sequences which winds up making the game really repitive. There is 20+ hours of content in this game and with this new, low price, it is definately worth a buy.

Awesome but not for me
This is a awesome Lord of the Rings game, but I couldn't understand it. Today, however I see why it was good. I found it to hard. I know someone who thought it was to easy. In the end it depends who plays it and how.
If you play it boosting the team it is to easy, if you don't it gets to hard.
If you like Final Fantasy and Lord of the Rings, this can be considered a child product. If a fan of Lord of the Rings who has to get every single game that is passable, know that this is a good game and they can't go wrong getting it.

A Different Perspective
Out of all the Lord of The Rings games that have been made for Gamecube this one is honestly the best. The graphics are UNBELIEVEABLE especially for Gamecube. Unlike the other LOTR games the battle format for this bares resemblence to that of Pokemon. Allthough it's a turn based game strategy is the key. The sound and voice production workers did an amazing job in fiting them into the game. The story line fits in perfectly (except for the Balrog fight) with that of the movies. The characters are similar and yet different from the ones in the movie. The concept of adding an "Evil Mode" into this was genius. Even though you can't walk around as an Orc or Troll you still battle as one and can earn extra items for your characters. I would strongly urge anyone to buy this game. It's pretty cheap for a fun long game that had to be made into two disks.

A great LotR RPG
Whats not to love about this game. The characters are awsome, the rpg elements are there, the story is actually good and makes sense, the enemies are fun and rewarding. Overall the game was a great success to any fan of the LotR series. The game is turn based so if you enjoyed Knights of the Old Republic or Final Fantasy, youll probably really enjoy this. Along your journey you get to meet characters from the movie and fight alongside them such as helping Gandalf fight the Balrog which gives you a great feeling of success when you beat him. Not to mention you get to fight in places that you saw in the movies while other places only tapped upon. Places such as Helms Deep, Minas Tirith, the Mines of Moria and more. All in all this was a great game and Id recommend it to all gamers as a fun turn based RPG LotR game.

Game for almost all gamers
This game has many excellent aspects to it. First, I would like to say that it remains very true to the LOTR environment and story, although having different characters involved. This game is an RPG, allowing you to choose different weapons, armor, etc. You also get magical abilities and powers as you continue on in the story. As you go further on in the game, you encounter a various of characters who join your team. Whether you are a LOTR fan or not, this game is filled with action, adventure, and plot, letting you play for hours of hardcore fun!

Tons of Turn-based Fun
many gamers (like myself) don't enjoy turn- based games, but if your like me, you need to make this game your exception, this game is great for people, even if your not a fan of the series this game will have you hooked for days playing until you have finished, completely satisfied. with great gear and weapon customization you can build the ultimate warrior, and with the 2 player feature you can go through your favorite parts of middle earth together, see the loping fields of Rohan, dive into the deep depths of the mines of Moria, and take up arms in the ever important battle of Helms Deep. While you aren't anyone from the fellowship of the ring (although someone does make an appearance but i wont ruin it for you as its far too epic) you'll be left feeling like you contributed to the freeing of middle earth from the tyranny of the dark lord Sauron.
so pick up your sword/ axe/ bow and arrow/ daggers/ staff today and fight for middle earth!

Great game for LOTR fans
All in all I would say this is a pretty good game. It basically follows the movies, but the characters you play as are all minor characters. I am not a huge fan of turn based combat, but this game was still quite fun.The graphics are very good, and the overall game play is excellent. There are alot of weapons and items to be found. And the skills that you can unlock are great as well. I would deffinately reccomend this game, espescially to an LOTR fan.
