by DynastyWarriorsFanatic Not Good For Younger Audiences, Great Game Though!
I played Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life When I was in second grade. I remember a lot of it because, well... it was one of my favorite games! Though it did keep my entertained while I had nothing to do at home, It really isn't meant for younger children. It can get confusing to kids on how to grow crops etc.. The sounds in this game are junk quality which isn't a big surprise, the HM series has always been known for bad audio. Moving on to the actual gameplay I was very impressed actually, the game portraits a young girl (you must buy a separate game if you want a boy [Which I realized afterI bought the game -.-], which was utter malargy as well) who moved to a small island village which consists of different businesses and different citizens with their own individual personalities. The thing thing that really is annoying is that you do not have a broad choice of bachelors to choose from (only 3). But there is a bonus to this shortened amount of available men. Each bachelor comes with their own special ability. Marlin will help you have a successful farm, Gustaffa will make you rich, an Rock... Well he just stands around and does absolutely nothing... Moving on with the gameplay, your character seems to move exceptionally slow, but eventually you do get a free horse from the man's farm you are working on which will increase your speed. OH AND THAT REMINDS ME, YOU DONT HAVE YOUR OWN FARM YOUR WORKING FOR SOME OTHER DUDE ON HIS FARM LOL. So yeah, but anyways... In this game the village you are in is indeed very small, while in most HM game you are struggling with a giant map. This is a set back while it does make it easier to navigate around, but of course less to explore. The game does give you an option to connect your GBA and explore a bonus world and collect additional spices and plants which can not be found in the basic world. The graphics in this game are just basic 3 dimensional, I don't know what else to say its not like your playing a massive shooter game with flying rocket launchers, its a farm game :D.
But yea overall its fun and will keep ya entertained. :)
Rated 10 out of 10 by GamerGreen A great, realistic game. (Too rough for the kids)
This game is either a really-huge must know/have! For the Gamecube, it is a relaxing game. The plot revolves around your character taking over a farm, having to get married, developing your son's life, and more. It is a requirement to get married and have a son if you want to reach the goal of the game. (SPOILER: The game is rated E for alcholol, but this is much more. You die at the end, which gets pretty rough for kids 8 and younger. I suggest this game at 10 years. It will get hard for kids to understand the true meaning of life, responsibility, money, marriage, relationships(A young woman named Muffy gets dumped. Jealous women come when you raise their hearts up and marry someone else.), and death. Otherwise, this is a great game and also too deep for a very lengthy review!
Rated 8 out of 10 by HappyInHarvest Another great Hervest Moon game
I started out with Another wonderful life, the main character being a girl is why, but I have fallen in love with all the harvest moon games, if your sick of all the action games and just want a quieter one, this is it. With the extra little videos put in for you to find at 'random' events to the mini-games, it's a good bye. However the game can only store to files to sharing the games isn't a good idea. The only downside I found was how much work you had to do in the start of the game, but once you get into your second or third year it's much better, you'll find you have too much time! Perfect for finding which of the three guys are for you, and try to win their hearts, or see others try as well. And making friends is important too, never know what they'll give you.
Rated 10 out of 10 by mitzigirl The best!
I have over 15 different Harvest Moons and this is one of the best! I love the storyline. Both my friend and I love harvest moon and we sat all night and played this. When i beat the story we were in tears because of the ending (Not gonna spoil it) You can befriend neighbors and help determine what your kid grows up to be. There are also cheats that you can put in which is cool to get the items but it kinda sucks the fun out of it! The outfits you can get your character are cute and classic. The music is just so beautiful. If you are unsure if you want this I have two words: Get it
Rated 9 out of 10 by Harvest~Moon~SuperFan I LOVE THIS GAME!
Hey, all you HM fans! I had this game when I was smaller, so my mom thought it was to mature for me. But, now im free to play it. The graphics are pretty good, and I like how long it is compared to other HM games. I also like how you can change your clothes, and look in the mirror, and get an alarmclock to insure yo wake up at a certain time instead of just 6:00 am. You can marry 3 guys in the valley: Rock the cute but lazy one, Marlin Grumpy sometimes, but very helpful on the farm, and Gustafa, the gutair playing hippie. I've played HM Magical Melody, wich is alot different. In this game there is no side story to complete, and ther are less requirments for marrige. Once you have 4 hearts you can marry, the guys have diarys in their rooms that tell you how much they like you! You can have a boy child wich looks different depending on who you marry. There is alot to do in this game as compared to, lets say HM DS Cute, where you have to collect sprites to get married (BOO) AND to save the Harvest Goddess Wich is VERY hard to do! You have to meet many requirements to do alot of things and its extremely expensive. But im supposed to be talking about HM Another Wonderful life. Your son grows to adult stage and you get to influence their career by introducing them to your friends and letting them play with certain toys. Make sure you give them attention or they will ignore you in their teen years!!! And one last thing about this game, IT ROCKS!
Rated 10 out of 10 by Jamesboyadvance WOW again for the theird time.
This game is better then the male verison. They're 3 codes you can do in this game that make so great. Just plug a remote in the p3 slot and start perssing bottions. Yep it's that simple. However you stile can't go in that worthless building, you can't go in Muffy's room, and lastly you don't have the big garden. It's cool that you can change your clothes, look in the mirror, and get music easily. Yep it's a great game, but I feel really weird when I marry someone.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Mandi123 Great for your first H.M. game
This was my first Harvest Moon game, I L-O-V-E-D it! Although the story line isn't as developed as some of the newer games, raising animals, making friends, and developing your son's future was a blast. I finished this game in less then a year, but had fun doing so. I would recommend this to someone new to the Harvest Moon series. But if you have already played a few, you might find this somewhat simplistic.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Marie123 Great Game, very entertining!!
I started playing this game when I was about 8 years old. I was so bored of those Mario, and Zelda type games, so I tried this out. LOVED IT. I have every Harvest Moon game now! Its simple, and easy! Anyone can play this game! The Characters are AMAZING especially the Bachelors!
And they all have great personalities. The Farming part of the game is good, just a little bit complicated. The livestock too. Other than that, I LOVE IT! (:
Rated 2 out of 10 by Enigma Great Story, Fun, the usual. Except for sexist!
I love the harvest moon series, I have Harvest moon: A wonderful life, but they should have really added the choice to be a man. Women get everything they want and don't even thank men. Men do all of the work, they put the food on the table, money for the kids, and all women do is complain and say how bad they have it. Women are Naggy, Pointless, and won't be quiet until their men do everything for them.
