Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
Fun relaxing game to pass the time away.
This games storyline isn't the most interesting one but it's really fun to raise your kid and see what they become. It's also interesting to see other characters and yourself age into old people. The graphics are probably the best out of all the Harvest Moon games. It's just very relaxing if you want a break from those hardcore games like Call of Duty or Halo.
this game is awesome but...
this game is awesome but it does have a few unlikeable things about it. first i will tell you what is good about hm awl. the graphics are great and i feel like i'm in a real place and the sound effects sound like the real outdoors and i like that because i'm a very down to earth person. characters, crops and animals look a little cartoony but graphics are still great. another thing i like is that it is easy to make money if you take care of crops and animals like i do. it is a little hard to make money at first but if you go fishing and go to carters dig you can make a little money to start off with. growing crops is easy and is a blast if you water them everyday. i was surprised how my crops turned out by the end of my first season. animals are also easy to take care of too. as long as you bathe and hug them everyday, they wont get sick or die. but put the animals out side everyday on nice and sunny days. trees are a little hard to grow and they take longer to grow but after you sell tree fruits you can make some good money. now on to what i don't like. some times i will be talking to a villager in the valley and after a while they will keep saying the same thing over and over again. another thing i dont like is that it takes a couple of weeks (in reality) to get through one chapter but only if you play it five hours a day like me. i dont like it when i want to put my chickens outside and i have to put them out one at a time unlike the animals in the barn. what i really dont like is that i'll go into my sons room when he is a teenager at night and he will kick me out of his room. i have to get my female cows pregnant and have a calf born to produce milk again and cows only give milk for 40 days which is a whole year so its not that bad. and that is what i like and dont like about harvest moon a wonderful life. i think this game should be bought by many gamers.
Best Gamecube game ever!!!!
Where to begin where to begin.... Well, its my fav game for G-cube!!! At first your a little dissapointed because its a little hard to make money. As you go on it gets easier... And more fun!!! You have a choice of 3 potential brides to be. There is Muffy, She is pretty but she is annoying and flattery. Then there is Celia..... My choice. There is no down side about her. She pretty, kind, sweet, and loves all the animals. Then there is Nami, She mean and cold. Anyway, I have restarted lika million times the farest ihave been is when my chid was in its teen years. Here is a tip: When Grant, Kate, and Samantha move in... (Tall rectangular house). Go to there house at 5:20 a.m., But leave at to go at 5:00a.m. He will give you a alarm clock. Rigt now my child is a baby. This game is a role playing game because u make important life choices. The story line is great. Some people would say its stupid but it is not. It is because they have not played it . You chose what crops to choose to grow. You can raise up to 9 animals at a time. You can sell animals if you need extra space. I recomend this gme to anyone who is a Harvest Moon fan or not. Anyway i recomend it 1000%!!!!!!!
Make your Own Wonderful Dreams of Life and Live
It's been quite a while since the game's release, but if you've been looking for some timeless games to add to your Gamecube library, look no further.
This classic piece may not be of a mainstream series, but can easily reach out past its casual following. You find a girl, make a family, farm a farm, ranch a ranch and eventually watch the town grow around you. You will be immersed in the world of Harvest Moon's Forget-Me-Not Valley as if it were your own neighborhood.
Of the series, this is considered by fans to some of the darkest themes and plot-twists. You will become emotionally attached to your animals that your care for daily and your family that you raise. You watch your son grow to be what you have influenced them to be as they grow from toddler to child to teen to adult.
This game will introduce you to your life as soon as you pick up the controller.
*You play as a boy and marry girls in this version. Get "Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life" to play as a girl.
I have not finished this harvest moon game yet, Mainly because I do not own this game I borrowed it from a friend. I am in love with this game I have never seen any other game like it. The graphics are way better than Harvest moon Magical melody, no need to compare this game is most definitely the best harvest moon game i have played so far... Well on to my likes about this game; My main like is that you get to have a child with the girl of your choice and watch your child grow up, you can also play games within the game, I often get annoyed that the time is way to fast and that he only sleeps for 6 hours but I get way more annoyed when time seems to be going by really slow when all I want is for my child to grow up. I have not got so far in the game only to the teen years of my child. I highly recommend this game to all harvest moon fans!! The animals are more realistic than other games and so are the crops, everyone always tells me from watching me play this game that it looks boring and unrealistic and stupid but i beg to differ, The reason they feel that way is because they are not playing it, I feel the same way when I'm not playing it. lol. =] As the game progresses and you build a wonderful life your character ages along with all the other characters which put a whole extreme to the game unlike other harvest moon games you age and the years change with you everyone changes and the seasons are different and you don't have to try to speed through watering crops so you can get to a festival in time, this game has very few festivals and most of the time you attend the festivals when you didn't even know there was one, most likely cause the calender is hardly looked at or something. My experiences with this game have been amazing and although I have decided to stop taking up my friends time in borrowing her game I am looking forward to buying this game for PS2 the special edition in which it has lots of changes and instead of 3 lovely girls to chose from you have 4, and the possibility of a baby girl instead of just a baby boy. I'm going to game stop soon to buy it!!! =] Over all this game is amazing and everyone who is a Harvest moon fan or not should play it, I don't care how borrow it rent it buy it do what you must to play this game it is amazing!!!! =]
Different Kind of Harvest Moon Game
Anyone who played the previous games such as Back to Nature or Harvest Moon 64, will be shocked at the changes this game made. first of all, the time is changed and it takes too long to finish a day. However it adds a very relaxing sense to the game like Harvest Moon is supposed to. Second of all, you can only sell the wild objects like flowers and mushrooms on certain days when a merchant comes to town. it happens twice a month so you have to keep all that stuff for a couple days. The music isn't too much of a problem besides the fact that it never changes. But it is more relaxing than some of the other Harvest Moon songs. lastly, the game takes forever to finish and you won't wanna play past the first chapter. The only TRUE problem i have with this game.... They completely jacked up the sleeping system! they expect you to go to bed at the same time each day, i guess, but most of the time that doesn't happen and you end up waking up at spastic times. It is still a great harvest moon game and great for beginners to the series but if you feel it moves to slow, try one of the others and you'll be a lot more satisfied. Try Harvest Moon DS Same characters, Different style!
Fun for the most part
A Wonderful Life is pretty much just like any other Harvest Moon game, you have a farm, grow crops, get married, have a kid, the usual stuff. What makes this game unique is that you get to play throughout your characters entire adulthood, watching the people and things around you change and watching your son grow up from toddler to early adulthood. But the journey getting there isnt exactly what a lot of people would call exciting. To put it bluntly, this game takes FOREVER to get through. It's very fun once you get things moving, get some crops growing and once you have a son its even better. But after a while, it just gets repetitive and boring. The farm work doesnt take that long, so depending on what time you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning, your usually done with all the work you could possibly do before noon. There's really not that much you can do to pass the time, considering every activity in the game freezes time until your done with it. Moving on to the positive things about this game. Whenever there is work to do though, it is pretty enjoyable. I mean, every now and then who doesnt like to take a break from those RPG games and just milk a cow for a change? hahaha. Anyway, the graffics are really good; theyre cartoony, but in a good way. I personally enjoy playing this game. It really is a matter of opinion, but i think Harvest Moon:AWL is a fun game that puts a different kind of twist on the world of gaming. Whether your new to the series like me or have been a hard-core harvest mooner for years, I recommend giving this game a try. You may want to rent it first though; just in case
A Splendid Farming Simulation!
Harvest Moon: a Wonderful Life for the Nintendo Gamecube is by far one of the more addictive games I have played. One progresses through life as a male farmer (whose name is of your choice) as he raises animals, a family, and cultivates crops and relationships with the townspeople. Growing a nice, juicy tomato is just as satisfying as getting your first horse, and selling flowers/crops/milk/wool for profit is even nicer. There are about 10 years total for the game, and getting through all four game seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) takes about 6 hours real time at the very minimum. You'll be spending at least 75 hours if you want to complete the game, but the farming aspect and small activities around the town really absorb much of your time--definitely count on getting attached in the small universe! Your first game year is devoted to starting your farm and marrying one of three available women: Celia, easy; Muffy, medium; Nami, the hardest to woo. Years two and three are with your toddler son, and the following year he becomes a young child, followed by his teen years. Your relationships with the townsfolk influence his future decisions and career path, so associate with whoever you want your son to follow (my son, Celia's boy, wants to be a rancher or farmer like his Daddy!). My only complaints are the occassional moments where "life" is a bit slow, and some days there aren't town events, festivals, or the visiting merchant's sale. The soundtrack that plays on your farm may or may not drive you insane after a few hours, but it never produced any significant problem. This game ultimately entertained my family and I for a number of years, and I still haven't completed it yet. A definite good buy for the Gamecube.
i love this game
this game is awesome. at first you're single and figuring out how to take care of your farm, and then you're married and have your kid to think about. i'm a girl, so of course I have the usual complaint with only being able to be a boy and only having a son. i don't mind it that much; i mean you can only be mario in a lot of the mario games. besides, it's not like they didn't make improvements in the Harvest Moom series later on.
THIS IS SOOOO AWSOME!
This is one of my favorite games of all time! It's so great. So you walk into a land called For-Get-Me-Not Vally. You take over the farm after your father dies. WIth the help of a man... a man...a man. Does anyone know how to spell or say his name. Well anyways, he helps you with the farm. Buying seeds from Ceila and...a woman I don't know how to spell nor say her name too! You get a choise to marry Ceila, Muffy, or Nami. All the girls like different things. Well Ceila likes flowers, and so does... muff...y, but Nami likes fossils and other things that comes from the mines. The graphics look great, the animal viriaty is huge, finding mini games are fun, mining is the second best in the series, making a kid go down a certain path is pretty cool, the animal part of the game is really life like, and the characters are all funny and memberble. Don't get me wrong, there is a couple of bad things about this game. Such as the quest for the heart wasn't that fun and Van is only in town 2 times a mounth, and useally sells worthless items. Over all this game is a farming master peice.
