Dragonball Z: Budokai 2
Dragonball z Budokai 2 My review
Dragonball z budokai 2 is an awsome game that puts dbz fans in the dragonball z world. Some arenas are destructable and allow you to fling an enemy through various objects. This game has many characters to play as. Most characters have one or two special attacks while others have none at all.The storyline does not follow the show very well and you will be able to beat story mode pretty easily. You can face off against the com or go face to face in 2 player battles. World tournament allows you to earn money to buy various capsule. You can play multiplayer tournaments but you will not earn a single cent. The only bad capsule int the game is Bulmas costume becuase it does absolutley nothing and is pretty costly. Overall the game rocked my world. You will get to face off against buu various times and many other villians such as cell, the androids and frieza. You will also be able to use or combine some characters.Use fusion or potara to use very awsome characters. This game rocks and anyone who likes dbz should buy it! Whether it's story mode, tournaments, 2 player battles,training/ practice mode, or babidis' spaceship you will have fun!!! This is the best game i have ever played!!!
Good Game! But.....
I've always liked Dragon Ball Z games in my life *sigh* but somethings just not right. This game is fun but when you do Story Mode its a map. I mean what the heck I was shocked when I saw this, it would of been better if they putted it like Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1.And moving on to the characters, The characters are great but they did something wrong. They forgot to put Zarbon, and Dodoria in the game, what a fail that was. Moving on to the Players. When your doing Story Mode it stinks because 2-player doesn't get to play let me explain when your doing story mode you get to pick a person to play with in Story Mode. Try this game out and try it if its good or not. Thanks for reading this!
Budokai 2 has substance, in the form of the annoying dragon world.
A while ago my kid brothers friend bought him Dragonball Z: Budokai for his birthday. We played and enjoyed it. It was a solid game, great story mode cutscenes, and close enough to the source material to give us a good gaming experience. Then we decieded to purchase Budokai 2. Did we regret the deceision? No. The graphics have improved considerably from its predecessor, and the cel-shading really gave the game the feeling that it was straight out of the anime. Sound was great, and we were feeling pretty good about buying it. Then we left the dueling mode and started the story... Dragon world is this games only low-point. You see, characters and items that can't be bought in the capsule shop have to be won in here, by beating the game, and/or a specific character with another character. It's impossible to get everything after completing the story mode the first time. Once you have defeated the last boss, majin buu, and have collected all the dragon balls scattered across the many "boards" you can summon the eternal dragon, and he will grant you one wish. Usually, these are breakthrough capsules that give a character their full list of moves (although if you were to get, say, the breakthrough for Vegeta, it wouldn't include babidi's mind control) so you would have to customize his moves. If the breakthrough included special contitions for characters, like vegeta, it would have been much better for the game) So, to get all of the breakthrough capsules, you will have to complete the dragon world a whopping 30 TIMES! This is inexcusable in a game, although it does force replay value, you will eventually loathe it for that. FINAL VERDICT:Gameplay: Solid, but marred by a few key things, (namely dragon world) the controls are easily accesible on the control pad, the combos are challenging, but not unbearably so, and the interactive features makes it better than the first in every way.Graphics: Bright, and cel-shaded add a sense of excitement, and they are vastly superior the their prequels.Music/Sound: Hits and grunts are nicely done, but the in-game music is a bit bland and boringReplay value: Practically infinite, but this may not be a good thing. So, if you are okay with wasting quite a lot of your life playing dragon world, then the rest of this game is terrific, and the fighting engine is better(IMO) and less complicated than budokai 3's. SO BUY IT!
A Good Game...
This game is different, that's what makes it cool. The story line is unique and fun. It's so different from Budokai 1. Buy this if your a true Dragon Ball fan.
The Best DBZ game in the world
This game is so fun I unlocked every single character in the game get this or I'll find you
a great fighter on the gamecube
i have had this game since i got my gamecube and it still has a lot of gameplay value in it. if your a dbz fan i dont know why you dont have this because it has a great character list, easy controls, and lots of modes that ceep you busy for a awile. i would recomen you get this game before you get budokai 1. if you dont like dbz and you like fighters you should check this out
very good game
i thougt this game is very cool, i like that you can be buu(concidering that he is my favorite character) and that you can be all these new characters. only down side is the story mode. the grid 3rd person type is hard to me. i would love if it where like the first game.one last thing. i dont no if its me but the grafics where kinda fuzzy.
DBZ games have had its best
i still remebered when i owned the this game infact the reason i don't have it anymore its beacuse mine broke, i've played Budiokai 3 and tenkaiech 1,2 and 3 i also played the new tag team one and i'v played RB and RB2, i still think that Budiokai 2 is better than all off them pretty much. the sound it amazing, i actually like the story mode on this one, the created fuse people like teincha, and gokule its pretty awesome, i recommend budiokai 2, RB2, Tenkaiech 2, 3, these are the best dbz games, oh and burst limit is really again
Dragon World Killed it! In a bad way.
The game is pretty boss. Great graphics and a lot of fusion characters. But when it comes to Dragon World, they blew it. I mean, they make it a game board type story. There are like 9 levels, and I know that sounds easy, but you have to:
1. Defeat the enemies, who have at LEAST 3 lives
2. Collect capsules, which have skills, but will involve beating up other enemies that you don't need to kill.
3. Get the dragonballs, forcing you to dig them up in the ground. However, these will give you the power to summon shenron to get breakthrough capsules (a capsule that gives you access to every move for a character). You only get 1 wish, so after that you must restart over and over again.
4. Get all the characters. You must beat people with certain people to unlock most of the characters.
In case you haven't noticed, you can't do all this at one time. That's right, you have to restart to successfully do all this. Also, forgot a dragonball and you already beat story mode? TOUGH. There is NO level select, so if you forget a dragonball, guess what? Back to stage one. Please reconsider, I haven't had the game a month and I'm already bored with it. There have to be other Dragonball z games out there, don't get this one.
my childhood game
i got this game back in 2004 and and i loved it the graphics are awsome for an old game and i love how theres a large varitey of characters and tons of moves and fighting combos its a good one for people who like fighting games
