Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
I approve of this game. Fun to play sometimes when I am near my game cube, yeah it is technically the old Crash Bandicoot so he hasn't completely changed game play. Cortex tries to make their revenge again in this game, so its a normal storyline. Sometimes it is kind of boring, because it is not dramatic well it was made in 2002 so therefore it isn't a bad game. So yeah you should expect it is pretty much the old crash bandicoot. The cortex makes a plan of a new way to beat crash so they send big enemies. Lots of spins and nitro and explosives can get me kind of mad. Yet that is what most platformers do. So yeah also as the previous reviewer said "This version is the same as the PS2 version, therefore it is still a great game!" That is about right.
Ignore the other reviews
I see that 2 out of the other 3 reviewers gave the game a 1 out of 10.... are you serious?
One of the biggest complaints of one of the other two reviewers is that the graphics suck... well yes they do... by todays standards at least. Thing is that this is a GAMECUBE game released in September of 2002 (I.e. it is close to 9 years old) not a Xbox 360 game released this year, so it is to be expected that they are not (nor could they be) at the level of current graphics. For the time the graphics were good (not great mind you) & that is all that is really important in that regard.
The next complaint is that the hit detection is a little off. This I cannot deny, but at the same time it is nowhere near as bad as it is being made out to be. By more recent video game logic, if you are anywhere in the proximity of an enemy, you tend to connect with your attacks... in this game however (not to mention most other games of the time) you need to time your hits a little more carefully. That is not to say that you have to be right up on them, but you do have to be more careful than what you may be accustomed to as a result of playing newer games.
Next complaint is that the platforming is poor... once again, compared to what? I never once had a SERIOUS problem with any of the platforing aspects.... If anything the game is a bit too easy in the early stages of the game. Admittedly there are some cheap jumps later on in the game which can be insanely frustrating but the reviewer in question claimed that they only played the game for 20 minutes before turning it off, so I HIGHLY doubt that they got far enough in the game to come anywhere near close to experiencing these frustrating parts of the game.
Overall the game is far from being considered on of the greatest games of all time (much less one of the greatest Crash Bandicoot games) but it is still a solid platformer & worthy of playing if you are a fan of the series or the platforming genre in general.
A GameCube Must Have!
The first game i ever played was Crash Bash. It was a ps1 title that i loved still to this day! I say this is a gamecube musthave for some reasons. For one, this game is a total classic! This is a game you dont outgrow! Its a fun game, such an original. The graphics still look good to this day! This game brings back so many memorys, this was the 4th game i got on my PS2! But, i later got a gamecube, and my old one broke, so i bought this one! Any regrets? Not one! This game can be hard, and anoying at times, but you know your still play it cause your love this game! Theres 5 boss battles, 5 rounds! Each gets hearder but more fun. I reccomend this game, its good for gamers 7 and up! Buy it! Its worth the money. Oh, and the rides on it are awesome, the robots, the snowboarding, plus you get to play as cocoa in this game! Must have!
this game is ok in some ways
i am a big fan of the crash bandicoot games and this game is ok in some ways. the graphics is not good and the gameplay is somewhat lacking. i liked the ones on the ps1 much better then this one.
Good game but too easy at times
This version of crash bandicoot seems to be a little bit too easy at times. It is a good game and I find it ironic that the flaw is opposite some of the other crash games (like the first one) which seem so difficult you want to pull your hair out at times.
this is a great game in my opinion when i was a kid this was my favorite along with crash bandicoot 2
not their best work
Overall, i hated it. I just wanted to freakin beat it already. First, the gameplay isnt as good as the original crash b.'s. Second, having to go through the 2 minute loading screen is not worth it. If i went in the wrong level, it would almost be quicker to reset my system thean enter the level and exit again
This game is really boring, and i only played this game for about 20 minutes before taking it back to Gamestop. The gameplay is weird, and it is so easy to die on this game. Most times if you don't hit the opponent at the right spot, then all of sudden you are killed by a mere centimeter. The platforming is poor, and it only allow you to stay in one direction, and i enjoy srcolling around a huge area. This game is extremely repetitive, and unless you are a hardcore fan of the series dont buy this game.
A great family-friendly game that anyone can play
The Wrath of Cortex delivers the full experience that I have come to expect from a Crash game. However, besides Crash Warped, this is probably my favorite game in the series. The concept of pitting Crash against Crunch, who is basically everything that Crash is not, is an interesting idea that does not get old quickly. This game is also appropriate for gamers of all ages, due to the family-friendly format and story of the game.
this game stinnnnnnnkssssssss
this game stinks first of all it is to easy to pass, second of all the graphics are horrible and you can only move foward,it is a total waist of time i only played that game for 1 stinking day and the next day i went back to return it i do NOT RECOMEND this game to anybody
