Story: The story of Shaman King: Soaring Hawk follows Yoh through part of the series. The game essentially focuses on Yoh meeting Amidamaru and rescuing Len from his uncle. The game then follows a story arc involving a villain created specifically for this game though it is stated within the game that he was defeated 1,000 years ago by Zeke/Hao.
While the story up above is good and all it still suffers from a major issue. And that issue is the fact that the story isn't finished. You never move onto the next part of the series after recusing Len. In other words the story of this game is incomplete.
Characters: The characters are an accurate portrayal from the show. So, if you like the characters form the show then you will enjoy this game.
Gameplay: This game basically combines elements from Pokemon and the Shin Megami Tensei series of games. It is similar to Pokemon in that you can catch spirits with mortuary tablets after weakening them. It is similar to Shin Megami Tensei games in that you can merge spirits together to create new and more powerful spirits.
Graphics: The visuals are decent for the game, but all of your attacks look the same. In that if you hit the enemy it just shakes their picture a little bit.
Sound: The sound for the game is alright for the most part. The soundtrack isn't anything amazing, but it isn't bad either.
Level Design: Most of the levels are rather straight-forward since the areas tend to only be composed of one area. You don't have to deal with traversing the map and looking for areas to explore until the last few stages of the game. This is definitely a huge disappointment on many levels if you are looking for a game with more complex level design.
