One of my favorites
The gameplay and the idea of Pokemon sapphire is great. Awesome Pokemon and trainers. The sound and graphics kind of suck though. If you get this game you gotta catch Bagon. He is one of my favorite pokemon. The starters are very good. Have fun with this game.
This is a good game, in the game you face Team Aqua, who is trying to flood the world. Team Aqua's goal is to harness the power of Kyogre and follow through with that plan. In the end you stop them, and capture Kyogre. That is all I have to say about the game, I recommend that you pick up this game, and find out how good this game is.
Fun at first boring after Story and legendaries
The game is fun then after you finish the story line and caught all 6 legendaries it gets really boring. If you play this game you can't even get a lot of Pokemon and you can't even breed starters. And when the internal battery dies the game IS REALLY BORING I MEAN REALLY BORING. GET FIRE RED INSTEAD OR GET EMERALD!!!
Still a great game, better than the 5th generation
I am a self-proclaimed pokemon veteran, with pokemon Blue being my first video game ever. Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby does live up to it's game predecessors, keeping the traditional pokemon gameplay and battle sequence of the very first games. The gameplay and battles are simple and fun, which adds to the overall enjoyment factor of the game. The graphics are average for the time, but the graphics are not so important in many pokemon games, so this factor doesn't make the game less fun to play. Even now, nine years after this game first came out, I'd recommend it over the fifth generation games. By the time the fifth generation came around, the newer pokemon really just weren't pokemon anymore. Also, there are so many new features in modern pokemon games, that it almost seems to bog down the original pokemon gameplay. And so, I applaud this game for still being able to stay true to what the original pokemon games are like. The third generation is another pokemon masterwork, and a must-have for all the die-hard pokemon "conservatives".
a good game
i have enjoyed this game though i just got it last week i have beaten it once the gyms are easy with mudkip/marshtomp/swampert this second time the seventh gym is hard that will change though because i'll level up my psy duck and blasiken
This is a great game from the 3rd Generation. It has great starters and while all Pokemon games have relatively the same story line with a small twist every game still has great story lines. The Pokemon are great and the game isn't one you can finish in one day. This game has a story line even after the Elite Four and is good to have for the National Pokedex in later games like B/W through Pal Park. This game is excellent and glad to own it.
Story: The story of Pokemon has always been rather straight-forward in my experience. You play as a young trainer that ends up leaving home to become a Pokemon Masater, by catching and training every single type of Pokemon there is in the world. To prove your mastery you battle against other trainers and gym leaders to obtain badges as proof of your skills and abilities.
Gameplay: The game features a lot of the same mechanics from the previous two generations of the series. The game continues to use type casting as a major game element while working to add further depth to the game by including new moves and team battles to the mix to allow for new strategies. The game also introduces us to Pokemon contests as well.
Graphics: The game is visually pleasing for the most part in my opinion. I do find a lot of the new Pokemon in this game to be rather visually unpleasing.
Sound: The soundtrack is decent enough. Though, I tend to play GBA games with the sound muted, so I'd take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I think that the pokemon ruby, and sapphiere series was very good and that the graphics and sound were amazing. I heard they were coming out with Ruby, and Sappiere for the nintendo D.S.
Best Pokemon game.......EVER
This was my first ever GBA game and my first Pokemon game, I got this game as a kid for Christmas and was instantly hooked on Pokemon. The graphics were great for 2004 and personally the Hoenn region and Pokemon from this game have always been my favorite. The storyline is pretty good and I had put over 250 hours into this game by the time I got bored so gameplay was pretty fun. I love this game even though I've got the 3DS now this game is still on my list of favorites. I would very highly recommend this to any Pokemon fan.
Could play for hours
the gameplay is sooooooooo FUN
it gets repetitive but hey i had 254 hours by the time i got tired of it so
it was made in like 2002-2004
what do you expect?
They suck... but i don't care
its just to fun
long story short
When i was around 9 years old i hit the NEW GAME button and lost all my pokemon... i had 17 Lvl 100's and 236 hours on it
that night i cried like a baby for about 25 minutes :(
I'm 16 now
but in all honesty, this game was amazing!
