The gameplay and the idea of Pokemon sapphire is great. Awesome Pokemon and trainers. The sound and graphics kind of suck though. If you get this game you gotta catch Bagon. He is one of my favorite pokemon. The starters are very good. Have fun with this game.

This generation of Pokemon games is a valuable part of the series. Being the first gen. to be released specifically for Game Boy Advance, Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire make good use of the new console. They make good use of the GBA's higher resolution and advanced color palate. Now that the Dual Screen is out, most players will be playing Sapphire on that. It's simple 1 screen gameplay and 2D graphics offer a nice break from the added complexity of the newer DS pokemon games. The pokemon you catch in this version can also be added to Pokemon Soulsilver and Heartgold via PalPark! The story is complex enough to enjoy, but easy enough not to stress over. Very rarely will you find yourself frustrated with the game, but instead find yourself addicted to the overall fun of the game. Gameplay and battles can get tedious after hours of gameplay, but that simply means go outside and come back later! It doesnt matter if you"re a die hard fan or new to the series, you are sure to enjoy this game!

Alright, well the first pokémon game I ever played was Emerald of this series, but when I got sapphire I gave it to my sister, thus my love for sapphire began. Hoenn is my all time favourite region of the pokémon games and tv shows! I mean, sapphire is the best because of Kyogre... the best legendary ever!!! Plus team aqua... the best bad guy team of all... aaannndddd i love all three starters sooooooooo much! Mudkip Treeko and Torchic are the coolest starters yet! Torchic is my favourite because i have this thing with Blaizeken... but the entire game in general is awsome! Between playing by the story line to save Sootopolis... or spending time beating the trick master, every minute of the game is entertaining. Your rival is the oposite character from you and they pick the pokémo that would beat your starter the best... so it adds some complicity and stratagizing. For anyone, new to pokémon or a die hard fan like myself, this game will not disapoint you!

I am a self-proclaimed pokemon veteran, with pokemon Blue being my first video game ever. Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby does live up to it's game predecessors, keeping the traditional pokemon gameplay and battle sequence of the very first games. The gameplay and battles are simple and fun, which adds to the overall enjoyment factor of the game. The graphics are average for the time, but the graphics are not so important in many pokemon games, so this factor doesn't make the game less fun to play. Even now, nine years after this game first came out, I'd recommend it over the fifth generation games. By the time the fifth generation came around, the newer pokemon really just weren't pokemon anymore. Also, there are so many new features in modern pokemon games, that it almost seems to bog down the original pokemon gameplay. And so, I applaud this game for still being able to stay true to what the original pokemon games are like. The third generation is another pokemon masterwork, and a must-have for all the die-hard pokemon "conservatives".

This was the first pokemon game I ever played, and istantly I loved it. I think it has the best story of all the games too. It has a bunch of suprises that make the game even more enjoyable! It also never gets boring, their is something always grabbing you attention. But not too much to make it confusing, just enough to keep you entertained through out the whole game!! the difficulty is also just right. not to hard, not to easy. which is a good thing because no one likes a game that is too easy or too hard! along with the story of the game you could be playing this game for a very long time and still not get bored! about the legnth I say its just right. it doesnt strech things out so much that it seems like eternity between each gym. and its also not so short that you could pass all 8 gyms in 20 mins. and I also belive that these pokemon are the coolest ones to date! enough about all the pros (even though their are a ton more!) lets hear some cons.... Lets see... you got... um.... victory road is kinda chalenging? I cant think of any cons... sorry guys.

Story: The story of Pokemon has always been rather straight-forward in my experience. You play as a young trainer that ends up leaving home to become a Pokemon Masater, by catching and training every single type of Pokemon there is in the world. To prove your mastery you battle against other trainers and gym leaders to obtain badges as proof of your skills and abilities.
Gameplay: The game features a lot of the same mechanics from the previous two generations of the series. The game continues to use type casting as a major game element while working to add further depth to the game by including new moves and team battles to the mix to allow for new strategies. The game also introduces us to Pokemon contests as well.
Graphics: The game is visually pleasing for the most part in my opinion. I do find a lot of the new Pokemon in this game to be rather visually unpleasing.
Sound: The soundtrack is decent enough. Though, I tend to play GBA games with the sound muted, so I'd take my opinion with a grain of salt.

It has great music, graphics, gameplay, and the battling is really fun. I really like the pokemon in the game and it has a lot of replay value. It's also memorable and I like the pokemon competitions that they have.

I got this game a month after it was released for my eighth birthday. I had always loved the Pokemon anime when I was four, but I never got around to playing the actual games. I was missing out big time! I am now acquiring the old games as I type this. I loved this game. It is amazing (If you don't trust me... I've played through it four times) I believe the Hoen region is the best out of the 4 (not counting Unova and the spin-off regions i.e. Fiore Region) because it is the most unique. I think the ideas for the Pokemon in this game was awsome (especially Castform the weather Pokemon... even though Castform stinks (as a Pokemon)). The game holds massive value because you can transfer the Pokemon you catch into Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver.
