This is a preowned video game. It is guaranteed to work on your Game Boy Advance video game console and may not include a box or instruction manual. It is 150 B.C. during time of the Hun Empire; a mysterious warrior with a most unusual sword has challenged a fearsome Commander named Alperen. A long, vicious battle ensues which lasts for days. At last Alperen summoning all that he has left, strikes a fatal blow to the godlike warrior. Alperen suddenly feels a surge of power as the soul of the sword and his soul merge, becoming the legendary weapon known as The Dual Blades. Alperen has become more powerful than ever before. The only way to lose this power is to be defeated by a stronger warrior.

Alperen enjoys his new powers at first, but after hundreds of years of being so powerful he becomes feared and rejected by his people. Alperen becomes tormented by his new powers and decides to travel the world to find a warrior who can defeat him and release his soul. Alperen searched over 2000 years for a worthy opponent and travelled to many countries but failed to find someone who could defeat him.

As Alperen lay in disgust at the thought of never knowing death, the Dual Blade suddenly opens a portal, which leads to a mountainous terrain. Behind the portal Alperen could see two Samurai warriors who seemed to be discussing something about gaining extra powers to defeat their archenemies. Alperen hearing this immediately begins to understand the plans the sword has set forth for him; he can now travel to different countries and times and face all new warriors which he never had the chance to fight before.

The tournament to free his soul may now begin!

Dual Blades ============= Overview ============= Dual Blades is a tournament fighter that was published by Metro3D, Inc. and released on October 7, 2002 in North America. The game features a total of nine fighters with the last one being unlockable. ============= Gameplay ============= One of the major problems with the game is that your character can't block. While the enemy can block your attacks your entirely reliant on evading or countering your enemies attacks. This makes it harder for you to win, especially against enemies that rely heavily on long range attacks to keep you at bay. Outside of the block issues the characters are responsive and the characters while sometimes feeling a bit similar do to the limited number of combo attacks you can perform in this game the game does give all of the characters unique attack animations. ============= Graphics ============= Graphically the game is a mixed bag. While a lot of the locations look rather nice, the characters are a bit on the iffy side. They seem a little lacking on detail in certain areas and the character designs are a bit questionable as well. Overall I call the graphics rather average for the GBA. ============= Sound ============= The soundtrack sounds nice enough, but it feels entirely out of place in many parts considering you are playing a game where people are trying to kill each other with throwing knives, swords, heavy maces, and magic. I'd just expect something a little darker or macabre. ============= Lasting Appeal ============= The game offers very little to give it additional appeal after beating the game a single time through. To unlock the bonus character you need to beat the game on normal difficulty with every character at least once. While this gives you something to do I guess the game just makes me want to play a more solid tournament fighter game. ============= Scores ============= Gameplay: 8 Graphics: 5 Sound: 3 Lasting Appeal: 2 Overall: 4.5 7/2/12
