Rated 2 out of 5 by from DBZ goes RPG This game is way too short! It feels mostly like an RPG. You can power-up Goku and rise his level. Some small tasks to complete throughout the game. You can only use three different ki attacks. In general, the idea of an RPG is not bad, but at least the combat style could have been a lot better. This game was too easy. It also got predictable and kind of boring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but boring at points Story: This game follows the story of Dragonball Z through the Saiyan and Frieza Sagas. So, if you've watched the show then you'll already know about the plot for this game. Characters: The only playable character in this game is Goku. You do run across some of the other members of Earth's Special Forces, but they don't do anything that will help you with your quests. Graphics: The game is rather decent for the GBA. Though the FMV scenes are a lit bit fuzzy. Gameplay: This game is an action/adventure RPG. You will basically wander around the map going from one destination to the next through areas that are sometimes a maze and basically kill everything that gets in your way to gain experience to level up and increase your stats. In fact, this game mechanic will become rather important since you will need to grind out levels if you wish to beat the game in some areas. Sound: The sound is decent from what I recall, but again I tend to play gameboy color and advance games with the sound turned off so I have no idea what the full sound archive for this game is. A few of the songs that I've listened to can be rather catchy though. Level Design: Several of the levels in this game can be rather minor mazes. And, this can be rather frustrating if you simply wish to move from one part of the story to the next. And several levels include obstacles that can only be gotten around by flying, but you are highly restrictive time limit when it comes to flight. Lasting Appeal: This game doesn't have any lasting appeal to be honest. After you beat this game you probably won't ever play it again. Or if you do play it again it will be many years down the road after you've forgotten about it. Core Problems: The game places a huge emphasis on level grinding in certain areas, and the grinding in this game isn't any fun. It is boring, tedious, busy work. ====================== Scores ====================== Story: 7 Characters: 4 Graphics: 8 Gameplay: 6 Sound: 8 Level Design: 5 Overall: 6.33 ====================== Recommendations ====================== If you enjoyed this game then I'd recommend playing the second game in the series. And, if you thought this game would be better if it was given more refinement then I'd check out the second game as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dragonball - A - Thon #5 This game sucks. It just does. First off, this IS NOT a DBZ game, this is an abomination. I remember one level Goku is trying to find Raditz and he stops his quest just to save a little baby bird from dying. Is he stupid or something? Cats and........I think those are supposed to be rats can kill you. Why? Goku has the strength of a god and rats can kill him? Why? It makes no sense once so ever. You fight Frieza at the end of the game. It only takes a couple hits to kill him! Why? Remember in the show how it took SO MANY episodes for Goku to kill Frieza? He almost had to sacrifice himself. And here Goku just punches him and BANG! We're done. Whoever made this game CLEARLY didn't watch the show and put no time or effort into this game. I'd give it a -1,000,000,000/10 but I can only give it a 1/10. Pitiful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good game to start if you dont know the series.. I played this game back when DBZ was on Toonami. If you know the series youll understand the game pretty well. This game goes through the Freiza Saga and stuff up until Goku defeats Freiza by becoming a super sayian. Its not that long of a game, but regardless there still isnt that much replay value. The sequel has more replay value because you get to play as Piccolo, Trunks, Gohan, Goku and my favorite Vegeta. In this game you only play as Goku which is understandable. I would recommend playing this game before the second, but if you already know the series you might be able to just skip to the second one and save yourself time and money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Recommend Legacy of Goku 2 It is a good game but Legacy of Goku 2 is way better. This game covers the Saiyan saga and the Frieza saga.
