    Game Informer Rating:

Rated 8.0 out of 10 by Game Informer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible. How do people stand this? -Demon possessed children isn't "fun"; or even acceptable. -Hiding anything that resembles a decent item in a locked treasure chest but allowing the only character that can pick locks for the first 1/4 of the game to die when the first city gets overrun is bad game design. -An economy where any decent buyable item costs 100+ gold, but you earn less than 1 gold per hour of gameplay, and that only when you do something evil or questionable, is not fun or balanced. -A game that rewards you for making the evil choice every time, but never for the good one is a sign of bad news behind the project and the company. It reaks of "agenda". -Every ally you can have join your party is evil save for one, who has the taint of a demon in her anyway. "Hmmm, do I choose the self-righteous witch, the giant that murdered people for no reason, the dwarf who gets drunk and abuses children, or the blood mage that summoned a demon to kill his friends". Um... how about SOMEBODY that is decent? It's an insult, and not any fun. Alistair and my pooch it is. I can't find a single good thing to say about this game, and I played for 25+ hours before making this final assessment. I'll never buy another bioware product again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You'll See Why This is one of the most revolutionary games in RPG history. It brings characterization and story to a whole new level. If you've ever played any BioWare games, you know that they are ALWAYS amazing games. In Origins, character creation is redefined as you create your own story with HUGE impact on the world around you. You should get into the Dragon Age series, especially if you've already played other BioWare games and loved them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Start of an Addiction I originally rented this game out of curiosity, 2 hours later I was hooked. Bought the game that day and have been playing ever since. I've completed the game 6 times. The graphics aren't the best, but the game play is solid, sound effects and voice acting are well done, and the choice system is good. Plus the choices you make in this game will affect to some degree, the story of Dragon Age 2. Despite the problems, glitches and less then stellar graphics, I love this game, I recommend it to all fantasy action/rpg fans.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Fantasy RPG I began playing this game after some friends recommended it to me, and it did not disappoint. The amounts of character customization are amazing for the rather simple battle system, added to a large amount of open ended quests and multiple romance options and you wind up with a fantasy RPG with a ton of replay value. There are a few noticeable bugs in this port, NPCs that do not react to story options correctly or graphic glitches, but nothing that can't be overlooked as it doesn't impact the overall story. A must have for any fantasy or RPG lover.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great game! This game is one of my favorite games to play! Only because it has such a great story line, and good characters. If you love Role-Playing, and action this game if good for you. Now, if you love games such as COD, or BF then maybe you shouldn't play it, other wise it is a great game to get into and pass the time with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 28 hours... 28 hours...thats how long i spent on one character. I regret nothing! This game is amazing. Its huge, Engaging, tense, and even a little harsh at times. This games story is the best ive seen ever I went into a gamestop and bought this for $5 on a whim and I wish i had done it earlier! The companions in this game are almost all likeable and there is no clear cut good or evil. And this game has a good sense of humor. one of the best...No the best games i have ever played and i personally cant wait for Inquisition! If you love Bioware, Fantasy, or just games in general PICK THIS UP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing RPG I'm just getting back into the gaming world after an 10-year hiatus. I grew up in a big gamer family and I always loved RPGs and was in love with the MMO's Everquest and DAOC in my teenage years. Anyways, I asked for game recommendations for my sister (a continuous gamer and a big rpg fan) for my new XBox 360. I actually prefer PC games, but I sit at a computer all day for work so consoles are a nice change. One of her recommendations was Dragon Age. Once I saw Origins had such great reviews that's the one I went for. Instantly hooked. I love custom-building characters, and there are many satisfying options. Choosing specializations and skills and allocating points are also fun for me. Not to mention all the armor, weapons, questing, and loot, and wanting to find the best armor and weapons in the game for my character. It wasn't a game that I just jumped on and figured it out right away. My first character was a test run, and I learned a lot and decided to re-build. As an RGP there is a lot of story, and it is interesting. You can make choices with your characters personality. Some of your group members get along and others don't, and you get to listen to banter every now and then which is a nice touch. The fighting took me a bit to figure out. I wasn't sure if I liked it in the very beginning, but once I got the hang of it's amazing. I can micro-manage my group members, or I can set up their tactics to fight how I want. I can also switch through and control any of my group members if I need to, I'm not "stuck" with only my PC. The tactics have plenty of options and situations to make your group members effective without micromanaging too. You also have to chose your group members and how to best make them work together. Fights are really fun and engaging for me. The only thing is the graphics seem a little basic, I'm still new but I'm pretty sure there are many games out there that have out-of-this-world graphics. It's good enough, and I would sacrific graphics for fun and effective gameplay. Which is what this is. All-in-all, I feel like I made the best choice to get back into gaming again, especially RPG. I cannot wait to make new characters and test builds and group combinations. It's kept my busy for many many hours so far and I'm not done.
