Product Details:

Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War - the first Horseman of the Apocalypse - stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. Dishonored and stripped of his powers, War must return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vindication. But the answers he seeks will reveal a deep conspiracy in which War is just a pawn in the eternal battle between Heaven and Hell.

  • Apocalyptic Power of War - Unleash the wrath of War with devastating supernatural abilities; an extreme arsenal of angelic, demonic, and earthly weapons; and his fiery red phantom steed, Ruin.
  • Epic Quest - Battle across the wastelands and demon-infested dungeons of the decimated Earth, discovering new weapons, learning new abilities, and uncovering ancient relics to aid in your quest for vengeance and redemption.
  • Battle Heaven and Hell - Destroy all who stand in your way - from war-weary angelic forces to Hell's hideous demon hordes, and confront the nefarious Destroyer, the very harbinger of Armageddon.

Game Informer Rating:

Rated 8.5 out of 10 by Game Informer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great game! I just bought this a few weeks ago, and its a very good game, the story is great i hope they continue the series. In this game you play as 1 out of the 4 horsemen, War, in this game you cross hard but fun situations, such as boss fights, there are main boss fights and small boss fights, i really like the main boss fights because there are harder that anything else, and it really gives you a nice challenge, i hope you find this useful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game with nice pacing. Darksiders is a game with a lot of variety, from puzzle solving to mini arcade challenges darksiders has it all. Along with the variety comes some influences from other games the combat is like God of War and the puzzles and hub world remind me of The Legend of Zelda. Which doesn't make darksiders an original game, but with all of the fun your having it more than makes up for the tiny lack of innovation. The graphics are pretty good though there are now many games out there that surpass it, however in 2010 this game was one of the best looking games to come out that year. Gameplay holds up well and just about everthing in the game has aged beautifully. The sound while not being as catchy or original as The Legend of Zelda games can still hold its own against some of the big guns of the industry. So there you have it I'm not going to spoil much of the story because the ending is the best part and it really makes me want to just dive right in to the second game and cry that there might not be a third. Cheers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing! Darksiders is probably my favorite game I've played so far! It has many different worlds and puzzles. If you've ever played God of War series on playstation I would closely relate this game to it. The demons in the game are all unique to themselves. The gameplay is easy and you can customize your characters moves to which ones you want. Truely an amazing game

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Darksiders Review Darksiders is a cross between mythology, an apocalypse, and the modern world. You play as War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Most of the game really revolves around characters The Destroyer and Abaddon and treachery between worlds which alters War's life, but anyway this game is a hack and slash, puzzle-solver game. You start with one weapon in the beginning and a gadget or two, and by the end gain more weapons, gadgets, and combo moves and increasing health and rage/wrath powers for extra destruction. I played this game through on only Normal Difficulty, and the first couple hours seemed impossible, I had to try some battles over and over before I finally defeated some of them. You slowly progress though, leveling up your Chaos-sword and buying new moves to unleash havoc on enemies and before you know it you have what seems endless health and destroy the enemies you first thought intimidating. On to the puzzles, this game has a ton of puzzles involving switches, trying to move between places quickly, and PORTAL-like references to guiding a power beam to doors. You can find yourself rather frustrated with these puzzles as some are nowhere near as obvious as others, but once you figure out the first ones that bugged you, you can think back to them to give you an idea on how to finish the new ones. Darksiders took me about 17 hours to beat, and to me really doesn't have much of a replay value simply because you would do the exact same thing over again with little carried-over bonuses.A Darksiders play-through is a slow-medium advancing battle with weapons and puzzles, and ends with a whooping on all monsters you find. It's really only a one-playthrough game, but is very good, assuming you can solve puzzles.
