Rated 2 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE This game was one of the most boring games i have ever played. It only took me about 10 minutes to finish the whole game. After you finish the only other thing you can do in the game is repeat the chapters. SUPER boring!!! I expected much more...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh This game was boring. Bottom line. There are long, drawn out chapters that are filled with talking and hardly any magic. And what's worse, is that you lose all the magic you've collected at the end, and when you replay chapters, you can't use the spells. They have to be recollected. Don't get this game, it was a waste of time and money. I forced myself to finish it, and I never played it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A young child's dream of magic It's a very basic game, learn magic and use that to save the town from evil. I wouldn't recommend this for killing time as it took me about 3 hours to get through the storyline. The game gives almost no control to the players in terms of exploring the town and beyond. At some points of the game you can go out of town. Replaying the chapters is not exactly recommended if you need to go somewhere when you have unlocked certain spells. There is no way to skip conversations when replaying a chapter. I'm not sure if it was my touch screen or the game (though I'm pretty sure it's the game) that gave me a hard time when casting spells. The art was very decent, the artist took his/her time with developing and coloring the main characters. The side characters however is a different story, they are so plain compared to the main characters with their shading and corresponding colors. The side characters' colors have no real depth to them and that is sad. No such thing as multiple endings here, the only reason why a person would replay some chapters is because their are secret items to find in the chapters. Like I said before, some chapters take place outside the town, it is your one and only opportunity to gain those items. I would recommend this game as an introduction to young girls, yes girls as boys would not be interested in a sappy storyline, to portable gaming. The character art is wonderful and might be enough for young girls to stay interested in the game until they throw a tantrum about getting another game for them. Though don't get this game for your child if they are above the age of 10 as they wouldn't want to play it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute game, but not the best for the DS I bought this game because I am a big Natsume fan and I usually love their games so I had to get it. It is very cute, but it's not exactly one of the greatest games for the DS. While I love how anime some of the characters look, others look drawn by a seperate artist and look more like Western cartoons. It kind of clashes a bit, but it can be seen as "something new/different" from a optimistic standpoint. The storyline is so-so, but I don't really like the "magic board" to cast magic. It's a little silly that anyone can "study" magic at a school and cast spells using a chalk board *cough* I mean, "magic" board. I guess kids won't think too much about it though.. The overall music for the game is average at best and the sound effects are realistic, but the gameplay can get very boring at times. I feel as though I'm mostly in conversations than actually playing. Casting spells can also feel repetitive and holds little entertainment in casting them. There's also little in-game freedom - you're made to just walk in a straight line so to speak and you may not always choose when or when not to save. All in all, this game is OK. Kids may or may not love it and older teens or adults should steer clear. It could've been better, but it wasn't - bottom line. It is, however, a cute addition to my DS collection that I can play whenever I'm bored or need something cheery. I don't regret buying it, but that might just be my Natsume fanism talking there.
