This game drew me to it because of the low price, and when I played it I was completely astonished. This is one of the best strategy games for the DS that combines a variety of guns, cover, and different ways to crush your opponent. This game is turn based, and this benefits the game because it would be too much to handle if it wasn't. You regularly handle a squad of about 6 or 7 units that vary as the game goes on. The weapons are all very powerful and you can destroy the environment and the enemies cover to leave them open and exposed in the open. Also this game isn't impossibly hard, but it's not too easy; the perfect mix for a strategy game. If you want to fight a friend, no need to buy 2 of the same game because this game also has ds download play! This game is simply awesome, and I recommend it to anybody

I'm really looking forward to this. THQ did an amazing job on the Dawn of War games, and it looks like they've got a few tricks up their sleeves on this game as well. The destructible battlefields should be interesting. I'm also really glad they went with a turn-based format rather than realtime - RTS hasn't worked all that well on handhelds up to this point. My one concern is that it's also being released for PSP, which makes me wonder if it's going to work well with the DS touchscreen. We shall see...

I have been playing warhammer for a few years. I joined the series when my friend got me into the Warhammer 40,000 Table-Top Strategy game! i immediately picked up as Space Marines, the main race you play as in this game, and actually had a lot of fun! when I saw that this game was coming out for the DS, i had to buy it the day it came out! IT IS THE BEST! There are about 15 missions in single player in which you play with a squad of normally 6 Marines. You fight against Chaos Space Marines and on certain levels, you can even command a Predator, tank with a huge autocannon, Land Raider, the largest tank in the Space marine Armada SUPERPOWERFUL, or even a dreadnought, Space marine that is encased in a huge robot body armor! Dreadought were mortally injured in battle and the only way for them to survive was to put them in these powerful robot armors. ANYWAYS! back to the game! Levels can go on for about a Half Hour when you get up higher in the game and some can even take about an hour! there is an in game save feature so if you feel the need to turn your DS offf and go outside, you can do so and start right back where you left off! But it isnt the Single Player that is the Gem of this game! it is the multiplayer! You can go online and play against anybody across the world! You can choose between 4 races online, 2 Space Marines and 2 Chaos Space Marines (your enemies in single player)! This game is excellent and every time i see my friends playing their DS's, i definately reccomend this game!
Rated 0 out of 10 by DeadlyFred Might be better on the DS?
The PSP version seems to get alot of gripes for the control scheme, I wonder if it will be better on DS? And yes, there is nothing to compare this game with DoW. Squad Command is just that, its a tactical game, not real-time strategy. Warhammer and WH40k are awesome universes, I'm glad there are more games being made with them, I just hope they can keep a decent quallity and so the setting justice.

A warhammer 40k game for the ds...ha!!! But as long as the graphics are decent then i will get it...maybe(like if this is an exclusive, then it might be good, but it's going to be on the psp so i would get that virsion when i get a psp, thank you price drop!). But i played a demo for warhammer 40k fire warrior on the ps2 and it rocked!!!!!

The graphics are terrible it takes forever to shoot the enemy and when you do they take two people and that leaves two guys vs ten men who kill them then you are down to guys however if you are very hardcore than this game is great. But for a good turn based game if you do not mind a little kid looking graphics the endwar is for you.

Well I have played the Dawn of War Games and the real game its self Its a really fun game and THQ has done a pretty good job making the DoW games as acurate to the real game as possible but they can not put all the parts of the real game into a computer game this looks pretty good and i cant wait for it

I love the Warhammer 40K PC games, and this looks to be just as good! I may just buy a DS for this game xP. Also, if you like WH40K visit Blacklibrary.com. Awesome Warhammer based sci-fi books to be had there. Be warned though, its' a brit website, so everything is sold in pounds

This isn't like the Warhammer 40,000 I know on the PC. While it looks interesting enough to play, it looks much like the comparison between the PC version of The Sims 2 and the DS versions. It just doesn't measure up but it would be worth it to play thru once maybe, rent not buy on this one.

oooh, i love warhammer games, they always involve guys getting killed on a massive scales. I just hope this has that. I also hope for at least N64 graphics if there are only 13 missions. They did it with Mario, this is no different! Other wise i'm getting a psp just for this.
