Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprsingly Great Game! This game was one of the best Nintendo DS games that I have ever played. The gameplay is pretty good, I loved the puzzles, and it tells a very interesting story! I recommend playing it ONLY for the DS. On the other systems, especially the PS2, it is horrible. Best played on the DS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Game I think this game is great on the DS for several reasons. One is because I think the graphics are great for a DS game, I think the developers took the time to make sure they could deliver the highest possible graphics for this game on a hand-held device. Another reason is because they put in extra mini-games which utilize the touch screen. The touch screen functionality can be used to heal Lara, switch between weapons, and chisel some debris away from a stone (plus many more things) when needed. The game is not exactly like the console versions but I like that it's its own adventure specialized for the DS system. I only have one problem with this game and it is the cut-scenes. Now I know there was a choice, either make a bad cut-scene with flailing limbs and talking (Resident Evil 1 - Original, Silent Hill, etc.), or import them from the console versions, they went with choice two. The problem is, is that the sound is atrocious coming out of the speakers, it's very crackly, and broken up. It's kind of like watching a 240p video on YouTube, but all-in-all it's okay because they have subtitles in case you can't hear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh This is a great game... The only thing i dont like is that it is a strict side rolling game, unlike TR7 {Tomb Raider Legend} for DS where you could move up and down... its a great game otherwise.... Oh and also they take cutscenes from the console versions and put them in the game whhich is good just that the sound sux :3

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a surprise! I was very leary of purchasing such a game on the DS. This type of game is a grand adventure with great graphics and precise controls. And guess what, the DS delivers on all points. It even has beautifully rendered cut scenes to push the story along. I was amazed at the graphics and length of game the developers were able to push out of the DS. The controls are the great topping on the cake. They are dead on and second nature to use. Usually developers of big console games that make a version for the DS just port a poor mans version of the game. Or they have another developer handle it and you end up with a different game. That is definatly not the case here. Whats really strange is the great console experiences of a game is what pushes me to buy the hand held version, well this time it was the other way around. I loved the DS game so much I went out and bought the console version, now thats saying alot!
