Thor: God of Thunder
THE GOD OF THUNDER
In thor god of thunder, you journey around Asguard fighting evil and batteling gigantic bosses. though the sound is annoying, the gameplay is very good.
Thor God of Thunder (DS)
Thor is a rather simple beat-em up game that is highly repetitive, but this simplicity can be highly enjoyable. The game offers little in terms of depth and you'll largely get by with throwing your hammer and slamming down on top of your enemies. The game does offer a little twist in the forms of runes that can have effects on your stats and how your attacks work, but you'll probably find a set that you like and stick with them. Though, changing them during certain fights can give you an edge over your opponent.
The sprites have some decent animation and are fluid even if the environments you fight in feel a bit generic. The various fighting areas also feel extremely similar in terms of design and come across as rather simple palette swaps with the backgrounds changed a bit to match the theme of the stage.
The soundtrack is alright I guess. I didn't spend that much time listening to it since I was usually trying to bash my opponent's skulls in rather then worry about the background noise.
Thor God of Thunder does offer some replay value. The game offers a few modes of play that can be unlocked, but the best recent to revisit this title is for the memorable boss fights. Several of the bosses are massive and span both of the DS screens and make for interesting and intense fights.
Lasting Appeal: 7
This game looks nice and it has quality to be a great DS game!
