Rated 1 out of 10 by Heather N Overwhelmingly Disappointed
I too am an avid Sims player; and was looking forward to this game. I just bought my DS and because I love the Sims so much it was my first choice. However, that was a HUGE mistake. Maybe I was expecting too much due to how much I play the pc versions. But I don't believe asking for decent graphics would be too much. So lets get down to business. The graphics were horrible all the way across the board, including coloring. The game kept freezing. You have VERY LIMITED control over decor and the things you wear, how you look. You don't even get to pick your own pets. Through out the game you are given different pets to temporarily take care of while you run your pet spa. There again you have VERY LIMITED control over what happens and the decor. And during your time playing everything just pretty much repeats itself. Complete and total monotony. I'm an adult gamer and I absolutely ADORE the sims games, but I would DISCOURAGE anyone from buying this game. As I stated before, overwhelmingly disappointed.

If you are looking for a pc version wrapped into a game for the ds, turn away, turn away now! This game was made for little kids, it was not meant to be some complex interactive simulation. All you can do in this game is run a pet shop where you basically go through mundane mini games that let you clean the pets coming in. Yes, you can get some accesories for your apartment that is upstairs, but that's it. It's not like the pc where you can build a house, or pick from tons of actions to communicate with other sims. It's a small game, for a handheld. Realistically it's not likely that they will ever make a Sims 3 type game for the ds, the data wouldn't be able to fit on one game chip. So if your looking to buy this game for a nine year old, who loves animals, and has a short attention span, then yes this game is buyable. If your an avid sims player, avoid this game at all costs. Although the graphics and sound is decent, the gameplay is short and repitious.

I have ALL of The Sims games for the PC and DS and have NEVER been disappointed with any of them. This game isn't any different. It's challenging, great graphics, lots of fun. My *only* complaint is that I've gotten to 100% on all the things they require - except for the treasure box. I've only gotten to 98% on that and I'm a little frustrated. I'm also a little frustrated because I can't seem to figure out how to get the 'passwords' to unlock the locked items. I've tried everything I can think of. I also thought that if you win a mini-game with a pet it'll give you a password, but it didn't. I'm sure at some point I'll figure it out, but until then I'm really enjoying it. Maybe if someone can manage to do what I haven't yet feel free to share your knowledge with us. ;o)

This game was pretty fun. I agree, it is not 10/10 good, but it also does not deserve its 3/10 rating. The gameplay is good, and the game has a good amount of re-playability. Overall, it is a great Sims game.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Gamersean The Sims 2...without customization.
I came into The Sims 2: Apartment Pets expecting it to be a mix of The Sims 2 and Nintendogs. I was partly correct. The game does have alot of Nintendogs elements which I liked. The minigames for cleaning the pets were strangly fun. The Sims 2 element were kinda there. The gameplay feels like The Sims 2, but the lack of customization sucks. You can't move furniture around which sucked. The graphics and sounds in the game were amazing though.

This is a failure. The graphics are ok for DS but everything else sucks. It lacks custimization of everything. I thought there would be more places you could visit but its your apartment and your pet shop. Atfirst is fun but the having to take care of Pets gets boring. Dont buy this game!
