  • Starfy has been a hero in Japan for years, and The Legendary Starfy marks his North American debut.
  • Players must guide Starfy through a variety of lush environments to the end of each stage by swimming, jumping and bouncing - all while defeating comical enemies and big bosses. No two stages are alike. Each one has its own mazes, puzzles and challenges to keep Starfy on his toes.
  • Starfy's main ability is the Star Spin, an attack that propels him into his enemies with great force. It also lets him burst through walls and barriers, or power through strong currents. As the adventure continues, Starfy learns new skills, such as the Shooting Star attack, which lets him shoot into the ground like a meteor, and Air Jump, which gives him increased jumping abilities.
  • One of Starfy's key powers is his ability to transform into four different, powerful forms. Each one grants him special powers to help him overcome the obstacles he encounters throughout the game: Monstar, a dragonthat spits fire; Starpedo, an Arctic seal with acrobatic abilities; Starfright, a spooky specter; and Roostar, a super-squawking chicken that lays sonic eggs.
  • Players can link with friends over a local wireless connection and face off in a variety of mini-games that involve fishing (Fishing Derby), racing (Depth Chargers), tracing shapes in the sand (Sand Tracer) and even cooking (Dumpling Master).
  • Players can connect with friends through a local wireless connection to play through a selection of the game's stages as Starfy and his sister, Starly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was alright The game started off extremely fun, and being a big fan of the Kirby series, I thought this would be similar and just as fun as the Kirby games. I was very wrong. It ended up being very boring after I got stuck in level after level of the same silly mazes both underwater and not. This game may be meant for kids but the appeal of the level design doesn't always keep things fresh.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun, short, and easy game The Legendary Starfy is a fun, side-scrolling platforming game for the Nintendo DS. This game allows gamers to play as Starfy, a cute yellow sea star, and go on an adventure that takes him and his friends through 10 different worlds, each with their own individual stages and challenges. The controls are solid and easy to learn. The graphics are really nice and colorful and, in a way, seem like a Kirby game (which is not a bad thing). The music is fantastic in my opinion, sporting several songs that rank among my favorite out of any game for the Nintendo DS. The game also boasts a good story that is told through amazing cutscenes and flashbacks. Out of the 8 different worlds (each having around 3-4 individual levels, including 2-3 hidden levels), there are 2 extra bonus worlds that can be unlocked. There are also fun, little unlockable minigames that allow friends to join in the fun. Finally, there are certain levels in the game that allow 2 players to play together, as Starfy and Starly, and complete the level(s) together by using just one game card. However, I do have three downsides with this game. First, it is pretty short and can be beaten within a few days at most. Second, while it is true that there are extras, like a boss showdown mode and a toy gallery where you can collect figurines of all of the characters/enemies within the game, there is simply too little content to keep players coming back time and time again after beating the story and every level in the 10 different worlds. Third, this game is also pretty easy and seems to be intended for kids and younger gamers. Regardless of these issues, I still think this is a good game for the Nintendo DS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from amazing until you get stuck. This game is amazing. The truth is I got this game about a year ago and i am still hooked. If you like adventures games and are a fan of mini game this game would most likely be perfect for you. The only thing about it is that when your really stuck especially at the ending of the game you will probably be stuck fr a long time. Other than that it is a great game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from really fun but hard and easy at some parts the legendary starfy is a GREAT game!!! the gameplay is epic, the music is fun to listen to, the graphics are not that bad, but my most fav part is the boss fights. this game is fun but is a bit easy on some parts. i got this game for christmas a year ago and i already got to world 3 in 1 day. but as you get to the end, it gets REALLY hard. so get ready for a challenge if your gonna get this game! the game is kinda like mix of kirby and mario but how you attack bad-guys is different. starfy rams into bad-guys by SPINNING into them, which was another thing i liked about the game. this game is perfect for any kid at any age and good to get if you like mario or kirby. get the game. its EPIC!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from YIPEE I JUST NOW GOT THIS AND ITS CHILDISH BUT COO Its a game made for peeps younger than me but it doesn't mean i can't like it. It's cute and fun, like kirby and/or mario. Ps the 3ds is good, but the original ds has the classics and the best games BUT I STILL THINK THE 3DS IS COOL IM NOT INSULTIN' NO ONE

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disapointing I bought this game for two main reasons one because cause hes in super smash bros brawl ant two because it reminds people of kirby and yoshis island. Which it does but this much more kidish than the other two. I will divide this into 2 catagories pros and cons.. PROS: graphics are cute and match the game well. sounds are good as well also its pretty easy and should keep kids entertained for a while without much difficulty. CONS: not for people over 10 years old. lots of swimming. controls can be stiff and delayed. not as good as yoshi's island or kirby. gets boring fast. not many different kinds of enemies like the original super mario bros. So if you want to buy your kid or little brother a game that they would enjoy buy this, BUT IF YOUR BUYING THIS EXPECTING IT TO BE BETTER THAN KIRBY OR YOSHI YOU WILL BE DISAPOINTED.
