The Legendary Starfy
I got this game recently and it was great!! Way better than I expected it to be. It has so many fun things to do. The minigames are the funnest things ever, you can even make dumplings which was my fave. I also like the challenge of the levels. It's like a game for a bigger system on the DS, which I love. Every time you learn a new move or ability and it totally helps out with your adventure. The colors were so bright it was like I was playing it on Wii, also the sound was good too. The music was calming on some levels and other times it was joyful. When there's a boss level you hear actiony music. I would recomend this game to anyone who likes to play Mario Bros, Zelda, Naruto, and Kirby games. Hope this infuences some people to go out there and buy the Starfy game. I haven't seen Starfy since forever. I think his last game was on Nintendo 64. Well, the game was awesome! There are few games as fun and cute as this one and they should come out with a Starfy game on Wii.
Good for little kids
When I first bought this game, I thought it was gonna be fun. When I played the game, the game was MUCH different than I expected, but it was fun. Starfy is similar to the Kirby franchise, a cute little guy saving a certain area. In Starfy, you go to through 10 worlds in the game and exploring each one is fun. The bosses are also very enjoyable and challenging. Graphics are impressive. The music is fantastic, but at times it may be boring. The story is dark and it's interesting to follow it, even though it may seem childish at times. Also, there is co-op in the game, but you can only do that in bosses (not the last one) and the first stages in each world, which is disappointing. The game is fun, but I have 2 issues. First, I wish the co-op could be improved and should be added in more levels. And second, some parts in the game can be quite cheesy and too dramatic. But overall, this game is recommended for a younger audience, and may not be good for someone 13 or older.
Great game for unwinding!
So, recently, I've been spending time with hard games like the Castlevania series, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and Shadow Dragon, etc. So I picked this game up to have a break. Let me tell you this: THIS GAME IS GREAT! However, this does not mean it is flawless. Some of my main gripes with this game is that the game wasn't really challenging at all (except for the final boss). While I know I was looking for an easy game, that doesn't mean I wanted it to be a breeze. The music wasn't all that memorable, and the controls needed some getting used to at first. If you still don't get used to the controls, though, you can change them from the pause menu. Unlike another user posted, though, you do not need a second DS to finish the game, as I did so without. To sum it up, if you like easy games, want a break, or have young kids just starting to play games, get The Legendary Starfy. Don't let the kawaii turn you off, though, as you'll be missing out.
In the top 5 of all DS games
I am so glad that Starfy was brought to the states. The character is adorable yet powerful, and the game itself is a brilliant platformer with an extremely broad range of appeal as age and skill-range goes.
I am a mediocre gamer and this game had moments of easiness in the beginning, and raging, DS-throwing angry moments towards the end. (Just kidding there, but yeah, some parts were pretty hard).
It is a perfect balance, and an adorable cast of characters. The animations, sense of movement and color palate is engaging just by itself. The story draws you in and engages you. This is one of the best done DS games ever. I'll go even further, this is one of the best games done, ever, period.
I hope they bring MORE Starfy games to the states!
evrything about it is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing Game! Must Buy!
Straight from Japan comes THE LEGENDARY STARFY! Yes you may not have heard of it, but it is an extremely fun and intuitive game. First of all you are a starfish, not just any starfish, one that is a prince of a kingdom in the clouds. Throughout the game you are chasing a giant squid who has taken a bunny dressed like a spaceman hostage. Sound strange? Yes that may be, but it is hilariously fun. Battle through the seas and land to reach your destination and defeat the giant squid. The graphics and animation are beautifully colored and done. The storyline will keep you in on what's going on and how you are doing on your journey to save the said bunny. This game is a mix between the old Mario games and Kirby. Fight your way to victory using different attacks learned while progressing through the game play. This game is seriously a must buy... for anyone. GO GET THIS GAME NOW!
It's one of the best games on the NDS
The Legendary Starfy is, in my opinion, one of the best games on the DS. The game is very entertaining. With its colorful graphics, adorable and fun characters, and interesting storyline, it's just awesome. The funny thing is the at the beginning of the game, you don't know much. As you progress through the story, new details are revealed until finally at the end you know what really happens. I usually hate this in games but somehow I like it here. It doesn't give away much at the beginning but just enough to keep you playing. Even after you finish the game, there are still minigames and bonuses you can unlock. Anyways, it's a great game. Anyone who has a DS should have this in their collection.
The game might be a little childish, but the game is addicting, a good amount of side quests, and the storyline makes sense! Nintendo, make more starfy games in the U.S!
I've got to say that when I first heard about this game I thought it was going to be a stupid game for little kids, but, I decided to try it out anyway. When I started playing I immediately loved it, the gameplay is amazing, and I think it has a great storyline to it as well. Also, the graphics of this game are just incredible, and the music and sound in this game are awesome. On top of that there are many great abilities you can learn in this game, such as: super star spin, double jump, glide, and much more, along with the awesome forms that Starfy can transform into (only at certain times), like a fire breathing monster. The levels are awesome as well. And, there are hidden treasure chests that you can find which makes the game even more fun to play (I found them all, but you don't have to). The only thing that upset me about the game is how in multiplayer, it ends after you go through a door, but that doesn't ruin the fun of the game at all. After playing this game I think it is definitely one of my favorite games (after Kingdom Hearts of course), and I hope that more Starfy games will be made in the future.
Needs 2 thats 2 Nintendo DS's to play
At first it is fun but, there are point you have to have a second Nintendo DS in order to do things and then you get to one stage where you have no choice you absolutly need another DS in order to get past it and if you don't know someone else with a ds well that's the end of that game. This is one game although looks like fun is a really pain in alot of areas and I would defenatly not recommend it to anyone who gets pissed off easily. I mean you get to this one stage where you have to press these stupid buttons to raise the water so you can get to the next landing at first it's easy but, then you get to this point where you have these barrals in the way and when you raise the level of the water then try to get across the barrels before the water lowers again there is just no way to race across them in time. So, that is why I think this game sucks!
