The Last Airbender
i thought the game was going to be really fun and challenging but i was suprised because i beat in a day. if you like replaying games this is for you but if you want a long lasting game this is for you. also i was excited about the DSI camera thing but all it does is randomly pick an element based on your enviorment around you. For example if you were in a dark room with bad lighting you would be fire also i know its fake because i accedently took a pic of my kitchen table and it was an airbender. Plus in that scene where zuko is the blue spirit and him and aang fight everybody on the fire nation ship well your aang so you are barely ever the blue spirit but what i like is you can play in zukos childhood and when aang tell how he got frozen in the ice you play the graphics are better then the screenshots on top but not the best so i would recommed the game but only to people who enjoy a puzzle
The Last Airbender
Genre: This game is a combination of beat-em up and puzzle solver. The game manages to throw a lot of block and jumping puzzles at you during its short run time.
Controls: The game controls using the stylus and the shoulder buttons to enter bending mode in order to execute special attacks. I did have a few issues initiating the attacks that I wanted at times, but I attribute most of those issues to the fact that my shoulder buttons are going bad.
Combat: Combat is rather boring to be honest. You'll defeat most enemies by simply tapping on them a bunch of times and only a few enemies require any use of bending abilities to take down. It's sort of disappointing in game that allows you to manipulate the elements that you'll spend most of your time swinging a sword.
The only upside to combat are the two boss battles in this game, but both of these battles are fought using Zuko. This seems like a misstep in my opinion since it ignores the central character of the movie. But, the upside to these battles is they actually require you to do more then simply tap on your enemy.
Puzzles: The puzzles in this game are way too easy. It feels like your being given a pop quiz in puzzle solving 101 the entire game. All of the stuff is simply laid out in front of you. The developers should have upped the ante a little as you progressed. The puzzles just end up feeling like a way to pad out this game rather then an integral part of the game.
Character Designs: The characters in this game are rather ugly to be honest. While they are rendered in 3D their faces are entirely flat and lack any sense of rounding. It is something that will stand out constantly when you are playing the game and dealing with in-game cut scenes.
Stage Design: The stages themselves all look like they are line with the location designs of the movie.
Cut-Scenes: The cut-scenes that are delivered after you clear stage are delivered using still images with a comic book feel to them. They are rather nice to look at and do a solid job conveying the mood of the characters and are far more enjoyable to look at then the actual character models.
The game possesses a soundtrack, but its so low key that you'll largely forget that it exists. And, even if that isn't an issue for you the volume is so low that you'll have a hard time listening to it.
The game doesn't offer any lasting appeal. There are no difficult puzzles to solve are highly memorable boss fights. The game is just a short one and done affair that lasts all of an afternoon.
Lasting Appeal: 1
