Rated 8 out of 10 by A Sadisfied Customer good game....for some
i bought this game the day it came out, and i do have to say, it looked interesting. when i opened the case, i was glad it came with a pretty beefy book on how to play, but when i popped it in, i was a little disappointed. The songs on the game usually repeat often, and the graphics were O.K( but, it was on the DS, so i didn't expect much.) and the character creation was pretty well put together, and was pretty easy to use. the storyline was really, really interesting, keeping you trying to guess what will come up next, or what body part you'll unlock! The game length is generally long, a couple of hours, and making monsters will keep you playing even after you beat the storyline. The game, all together is,well, pretty fun. But if you don't like childish things, do not buy this game, because i found myself chuckling at some of the names and what the characters said. If you do have a computer with at least 512RAM, and a good graphics card, i do recommend the computer version.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Da Bomb 21 This game is da bomb
I had wanted this game for about two weeks, and got it for my birthday. Some people say that the challenge is poor, but I think it is perfect. Even though it could have better graphics, (the graphics are sort of like Paper Mario) it is still one of my favorite games. The storyline is a spaceship comes and take Little Oogie, so you need to find body parts for your Spore creature, and battle ruthless creatures to get their nest, and sometimes when you befriend creatures, if you help them, they give you parts to the spaceship that it dropped. Like I said earlier, the graphics are a little rough, but they aren't too bad. It's like they are paper, but everything around them is 3-D. I'd say its pretty cool. I love this game because you can customize your Spore dude, and give him or her bio-powers. Some of the parts are da bomb, but some of them are kind of weird. But all in all, I'd say this is a totally awesome game. I love it and you'll love it I'm sure of it.
Rated 4 out of 10 by tai57chi80 Interface & Control Ruin Game
Was very interested in this game when it came out as my PC is probably a bit light for the PC version. Guess I'll get that after I upgrade in a few months as this game didn't cut it.Nothing particularly offensive about the game from a graphics and music point of view- definitely geared toward younger gamers. My biggest complaints revolve around movement and the interface.Creature creator was poorly executed. A pest to paint individual parts instead of the whole and no comparison of how a new part is an upgrade over an old part. You need to remember your old part and compare values. Also difficult to edit more than one part at a time without exiting & re-entering creature creator.Movement control was poor- whether using the stylus or d-pad was hard to move where you wanted. Pressing the d-pad in a direction did not move you in that direction on the mini-map. Tutorial was a bit off as well. Had to reread the manual to realize how to attack! So, overall not pleased with this purchase. Will trade toward DQIV or Lock's Quest soon.

I Was anticipating something more challenging and fun when I bought this game, but sadly, I was able to beat this game in just two days, and i'm not even one of the best players. Basically you do different tasks in order to save your sick friend, Oogie from an alien bent on cross mutating different species. The graphics are very basic and nothing to brag about.Since the gameplay is so short, and you really only have a mere thirty levels to beat, I would save your money. if you are really interested in playing it, just borrow it from a friend or buy it, then pass it on. I have had Spore for a week now and already passed it on to four players, each taking about 4 to three days, which was useful because that saves your friends money on buying a game that sounded great but was really just a rip off.I love the Spore games, but I think this one was a little too easy, so if you would like a better version of this please purchase the computer version.

If you like a game where you have creative freedom then this the game. The DS is the only platform that i have been able to try it on so far, but this is a game that if you try to you can beat in just a few hours. I bought the game last night and in roughly 12 hours not trying to hard I've beat it. But i'm going through a second time to get all the parts and other items. Well enough on me and back to the game, i rather enjoyed the cartoony nature of the graphics it just gave it that lil something that you look for in a game to make you say wow that was different. Over all i'm happy with the game i just wish there was more to it, more content, more creatures, and more places to go in the game. Anyway if your looking for a game that you can mess around with for hours and that can make you laugh at the dumb things you can create then spore for the DS is the game for you.
Rated 10 out of 10 by QWERTYUIOP21 Spore Review
I think spore is a great interactive game. It lets you make your own character, or creature, and go through life, over coming treacherous obstacles and challenging enemies. Although Spore is a great game it is more of a game for younger gamers. Many of the older gamers would find this game fun but lacking of a real challenge. Most of the features of this game are pretty well thought out and highly intelligent. Lots of the courses use thinking and out witting the skirmishes you'll encounter. Evolving in this game is quite a feet. A lot of the evolution details are pretty cool, for example, if you made your creature a four-legged one, when it evolves it may learn to stand on its hind legs. Overall, the game is quite interesting the music seems to repeat a little too much but that doesn't mind. If you are looking for a fun, and creative game you should look into Spore.

This game was quite enjoyable. In fact, I had a pretty fun time throughout the short length of the game. But the key word is short. This game wasn't very long at all, and once beaten, there isn't much incentive to replay the game. Of course, you can collect various parts throughout the game to create different Spore creatures, but other than collecting and mix-matching spore parts, there isn't much replay value in this game. All-in-all, this game was fair. It was fun while it lasted, but I sadly regret buying it for the price I did. However, the price has drastically dropped since then. The only question is, "Is it still worth your money?" I'd say maybe. If you're looking for a short, fun game to play for a little while, go for it. But if you really want to spend your money on great games, I'd say save your money and search for something better.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Jolson Spore does work for the DS
Yes, Spore for the Nintendo Ds. First off everybody should know that this isn't actually Spore, the PC or Mac version. This is a completely different game. The basics are the same, you make a character and it evolves over time. You can customize it and interact with everything. The Similarities end there. You start out with a limited supply of body parts. The father you get the more parts you get to customize your character. The main plot starts out innocently enough, Little Oogie goes missing, abducted by aliens, but then it evolves (Much like the creatures) Into a much bigger aspect. I don't want to post any spoilers. The interaction with other beings and creatures isn't quite explained, either entirely is the creature creator. And at first it is hard to do things. But you get used to it eventually. The graphics are bad but they are meant to be that way, like paper mario. Over all this isn't SPORE, the game everyone has been waiting for. It is very different. I still like it, however. If you want a good adventure game that is pretty lengthy I recommend this game to you. However, if you are looking to create your own universe, go get the real Spore.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Bwawe Good, but easy
I loved this game. I played it too much for 2 days.... Then i beat it. I almost beat it again. When you die, you come back as if nothing happened. It really shouldnt be THAT easy. Also, its not long enough. 6 planets?? they could've put more. BUT it does have extreme character creativity. I really believe there is no one simaler creature, which i enjoy. And you can change your creatures look almost whenever, as long as your at the nest. The controls arent bad, but at the beginning of the game they dont tell you how to fight. It took me a little while but i realized you just swipe the screen on the enemy. You can also befreind creatures and have them follow you until you leave the area. They dont help much, you do all the work. But im mad thst they put a cheat shop and a part shop. I mean who wants to cheat THAT EASY?? NOBODY!

This game was so bad it was way too easy. I bought it after 2 days it was finished. the only part that was not completely bad was the monster creating but i have more fun creating a Sims character. This game was so bad I'm actually considering not buying the computer version of this game I'm afraid of wasting money like i did on this game. The graphics were bad also. the story every thing was bad would never buy this game again i cant stand even thinking about the money i wasted. grrr. If u don't want to waste money like i did just stay away from this game please!! To all the game lovers out there even if you are into kiddie games like this don't buy it. This goes past the line every thing about it is bad even the music gets annoying after five minutes i had to even turn the sound down.
