FORGET SONIC RUSH ADVENTURE!THERES A NEW SONIC GAME IN TOWN!
I have sonic rush and i have to say it wasnt that bad but i beat it in a week.I think a second sonic rush isnt needed because i just found out that bioware (one of the best rpg companies in the world) and sega are teaming up and making a sonic rpg game (note:sonic rpg isnt the name of the game the game is called that because they havent titled it yet). The sonic rpg will finally bring back the original sonic adventures we all know and love. But the bad thing is its coming out in 2008 so what im gonna do is get sonic rush adventure and try not to beat the game until sonic rpg comes out bioware said that there going to make this sonic game only to ds and there are going over the limit of 2d touch screen and hope to see the game in full 3d.Every bioware game ive played has free roam and they also said they believe in open world gameplay! So i hope the sonic rpg game will have full 3d characters and full 3d environments that can be free roamed like in sonic the hedgehog for 360 and ps3!
NOT AS GREAT AS SONIC RUSH BUT STILL HIGHLY ENJOYABLE
Sonic Rush Adventure is another solid Sonic game and a good (unfortunately not great) follow up to Sonic Rush. If you played the original and AWESOME Sonic Rush then you know exactly what you're getting with Sonic Rush Adventure. My only problem with SRA is just what it says in the title, the "Adventure" portion. In this game you need to travel to other islands and areas by jet ski or boats, and while there's nothing particuarly wrong with it, in my opinion, it kind of drags down on the fast and furious gameplay of the original. My other gripe would be that in order for you to get to many other areas of the world you need to collect a certain amount of materials that Tails needs to build your boats, but in order to do this you need to CONSTANTLY replay levels over and over to get the materials which sort of cheapens the longetivity of the game (not that it's short, but still). Boss battles are still very enjoyable, controls are great and spot on, and the music while not as good as Sonic Rush (sorry but its true), is good. Overall, Dimps did good with this follow up.
I thought it was pretty good
This was the first Sonic game I played so I might not be the best game critic for this. I liked how the game has different islands to explore. Even though the game got repetitive after a while I enjoyed bashing through a bunch of obstacles.
Don't get me wrong, i really enjoyed this game, but i beat it in 3 day, with only playing the first level the first day. This is really really, really short. the story line is good, but the characters are a bit annoying. The controls work very well, and the gameplay is great. The boss battles are short, easy, and random. You just repeat the same pattern over and over until it is dead. There is no auto save so make sure you save often. i didn't, and my game spazzed and i lost about all of my progress. There is a challenge, but nothing that can't be beaten in a couple of tries. The level designs are pretty good, but everything is just repeated over and over. The linear gameplay can be annoying, if you don't play very many 2-D games like me. I did enjoy going back to levels to beat my score, but i felt that after a few times, it got old. This is a very good game, but the length ruins what it built up. rent this if you play video games often, and only buy it if you play once or twice a week. This can be beaten in 5 or less hours. This would have been a must buy if not for the length, but it sadly is just too short to bare.
Not your typical Sonic
I have been a Sonic fan since I was a kid. I have to say, this game was not one of the better ones. I really did not like this game. The Characters: Of course Sonic and Tails were present, but the other characters? I found them too annoying and way to chatty for a video game. I spent more time reading then playing. The storyline: meh. The Levels: there was no challenge. They were too repetitive, especially when you had to do the boss battles multiple times. It dropped from fun to boring in about 20 minutes. The back ground music was way too loud and annoying. The Challenge: non existent. It was to the point where I could barely finish the game. If you are looking for a great game to play, this is not it. I will not likely recommend this game to anyone over the age of 7. I was incredibly disappointed and traded this game as quickly as I could.
Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about getting this game at first since it seemed to be so much different than the other games. Fortunately, I was quite impressed with the game when I got it. The graphics are nice for a DS game, as they mix up bits of 3D and 2D. As always with Sonic games, the music gets stuck in your head and has a kind of catchy beat to it. The storyline bored me a bit and there was a lot of talking, but the gameplay itself made up for that. It brought in alot of the aspects of the Sonic Advance games, with cool different levels and simple, fun controls. I didn't really enjoy the sailing bits; they at points seemed tougher than the levels themselves and simply took up a lot of time. Even then, it was nice that they hid extra levels and islands throughout the ocean. That really helped make the fun last, even after you beat the game. Along with the extras, there are also 100s of mission to beat that keep the game fun. All in all, I think this is a very fun game, although I would reccomend playing the original before. The game is fun and fast and I think it would please most Sonic fans, along with those new to the series.
A nice Sonic game
Let's start with the gameplay: First there is the platforming levels, then there are the ocean levels(which you play to access the platforming levels). The ocean levels are fine but with the first vehicle you get is a jet-ski which you race, get boost, shoot enemies (which are ahead),and dodge rocks and jump ramps.Which eventually becomes repetitive. But thats where the other vehicles come in; a ship which you shoot enemies beside and ahead of the ship with an assortment of weapons & a submarine which you do some gestures on the touch screen to destroy enemies. Then there is the platforming which is your typical Sonic platforming but it has some mini-games like jumping from rail to rail collecting coins and avoiding spikey-balls(that sounds weird) or jumping in a minecart making choices on which way to go(once more gettin' coins and avoiding spikey balls. The graphics are nice but I don't like the 3d looking characters with the 2d level. The sound is nice but the music has quite a bit to be desired. The lasting appeal of this game is long; winning the game, filling out the map, beating records, and playing multi-player with a friend(if you have two Nintendo DS(s?).It was a good eight hours for me.
i just noticed somethin the nintnedo ds has the rush series and the psp has the rivals series. Also blaze the cat is in rush series, and silver has the rivlas series. but betwen rush and rivals I so want rivals
A new wave!
Sonic Rush Adventure will have the touch screen controls Rush was going to have, that's one thing that will be awesome. Second, Sonic hasn't had an RPG on handheld yet, buth with SRA coming out soon, and "Sonic RPG" soon at hand, Sonic will be getting bigger, better, and much, much faster!
