Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesomeness This game is really fun, I like how it has like 8 dungeons instead of just 4, except the winter dungeon cause that one is kinda annoying because it has to be winter...unless you have a cheat...I've played this one and the 2nd one...this one took me longer than the 2nd one to complete but both are fun...really fun, and the 3rd one will be fun too I'm sure, and so will the first one, mom says we should stop spending our money on games but she doesn't understand the awesomeness of the game...it is very fun and recommended for anyone who has not played the 3rd one before...because the 3rd one gets allot better at everything, but I like how the 2nd one you do requests, it's easier to get the people to like you, anyways, get this game because it is fun

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For RPG gamers... When i first purchased Rune factory, i was not sure what to expect. This is the first game of its kind, incorporating the harvest moon simulation of farming and befriending people/animals, with the classic RPG of fighting monsters, going through dungeons and defeating bosses. When i first played the series, i was hooked instantly! it is definatley an addicting game for us hardcore RPG gamers. You will never find yourself bored with the game because there is so much to do. Beginners just want to increase their profit, and befriend animals and people, and level up, but more advanced players of the game that have already completed the basics (befriending everyone to 10/10, passes for all dungeons, has lots of money, and have high quality product giving monsters) will focus more on creating the best weaponry, medicines and accessories available, expanding your house and having a child, trying to defeat Grimoire, and creating Grimoire's sword. All of these take some time, but you hardlly realize the time because it is so fun! And the ending is one you'd never expect! ******* DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU DONT LIKE SPOILERS****** If you're like me and wanted to know Raguna's darkest secrets, then here it is. Raguna is actually Ivan the Peddler's brother, and is an heir to the Sechs Empire throne. Though these are only rumors, about 99% of Rune factory Series gamers agree that the two men are related. Both have the same hair color, and pale eyes. It is also rumored that Raguna was purposely induced amnesia because in his Sechs days, he was a ruthless royal, and was sent to Kardia to learn how to be a much more down to earth individual. This is a less likely rumor, though many people speculate that Raguna got amnesia on purpose. ****************************************************************************All in all this game is awesome and a definatley amazing series!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from addictive It is really fun, I love the challenge of it, but after you get married it kind of gets boring because your wife doesn't move around or do anything, I lost the game and I haven't had a child yet, oh well but I highly recomend this game as long as you haven't played the 2nd or 3rd one yet, which I'm getting for Christmas

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome game mostly This game is allot of fun, until the end, but I suppose most games get boring at the end, my brother is asking me what I want for Christmas, he was saying he'll get me a whole anime series but instead I think I'll ask for the 3 games in this series

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pretty good game as an avid Harvest Moon gamer, this game is a nice change of pace. it's the first in the "spin off" series, so of course there will be problems- mediocre graphics, bugs/glitches, lacking plot depth.the rune factory series different from the "court a spouse, have a kid" theme of harvest moon because rather than getting married right away you have to "fight the monsters, save the world" first. usually after you've gone through all the dungeons do you get to pick a girl, marry her, and make her pop out a kid. but instead of saving up money to buy farm animals you just go out into the dungeon, befriend the animal (or get hurt trying), and BAM instant farm animal. you just have to buy the space to store them first. overall, the first rune factory is good for those who like to reminisce about "the good old days" of their favorite video game series, don't like the repetition of "feed animals, harvest crops, talk to spouse, go to bed" , as well as newbies who want to play through the series in numerical order. don't get too upset if the characters or plot is too "lacking" for you, it's more of a plot than what you had with harvest moon DS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The New Harvest Moon For all of the Harvest Moon fans, I highly recommend this game. Sadly, they get rid of all the farm animals, but they replace it with monsters you can befreind. I really enjoyed this game because it had a great stroyline and a lasting appeal. There is only one problem with this series, and that is which game you play first. I encourage people to try this game first to get the feel of rune factory and then try the other rune factory games. If you start out with, for example, the third rune factory, then this game would not be as fun when played. It is a great game to play on the ds that sticks to many HM traditions that can be enjoyed for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The start of a pretty great series The game is pretty good, just very low quality. The gameplay graphics are awful and the game itself has some bugs. The "fighting" is kind of.....lame. It's not very fast pased, but it will keep you entertained for a long time. But the game is actually quite enjoyable, the characters are well developed and the plot is very interesting. You have a lot of options in how you what to play, from your romantic interest to how you make your money. If you like dating sim style games you will eat this game up, but there are plenty of other things to do if that's not you cup of tea. But I would recommend this game if you want to play the series, all of the games some how at least mention the previous games.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really fun but gets old. I love this game, really. It's that start of an amazing game series. After a few,you get a little bored. But still awesome. I love this game and you should really get it! Oh, and if you plan on getting 2,3,Frontier,or Oceans first, don't. Those games rock too,but you HAVE to play this one first.
