Best Puzzle Game Ever?
What a treat it is to have no expectations for a game and then find you can't put it down for a week! I'm going to date myself a little here, but one of my favorite games from back in the 80's was a puzzle game called "Fools Errand." Professor Layton, while likely not directly derivative of that classic game, shares the concept of progressing through an entertaining story, via completion of dozens of seemingly unrelated puzzles. Both games excel at making you really work for it and feel brilliant at the same time. The puzzles in Layton are very challenging, but the progressive hint system doles out help in small doses, so you still feel a sense of accomplishment even when "cheating" a little. While it might be too challenging for young kids (and many adults!) as a parent, it was fun to play this game with my 10 year old son; when he wasn't prying the DS out of my hands that is. ;) The animated cut scenes are high quality and if you are a fan of great anime films like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, you'll feel right at home. The only thing lacking is a varied musical score. Not that the provided music isn't great, but it just gets stale after awhile. If (when) you finish the included puzzles, you can download more directly through your DS, assuming you have an available Wi-Fi connection. I tried this out as soon as I finished the game and it works great. New puzzles every week! This is definitely my favorite game of 2008. Give it a try if you love great games, especially if you appreciate anime and the occasional brain-bending puzzle. Have fun!

Best Puzzle/ Adventure Game ever!
This game is an incredible adventure game that keeps you on your toes. It's so great how the game ends (I won't spoil anything for you.) The puzzles are logical and fun. Believe me, this is a great game!

Continuing Challenges!
I am just a casual gamer. I carry my Nintendo DS with me everywhere but only play when I am somewhere there is a long wait and I want something to do. I really enjoy this game because there is a mystery to solve and it is challenging. I will definitely play the other games in this series as they come out.

The Most Addicting Puzzle Game
I really like action and adventure games but I recently bought this puzzle game for a change in what I play. I got hooked to this game in a matter of minutes. The storyline is great! Something shocking happens all the time from beginning to end. There are a total of 8 important mysteries you need to solve. The most important one is finding the treasured Golden Apple. There are a total of 120 puzzles in the game and 15 extra puzzles which are the most difficult (save your hint coins for these) The characters you meet are so unusual and like to bug you with their hardest puzzles. I recommend this game for people 12 years & up. Believe me. Even my aunt had trouble solving some puzzles. The controls are OK because you only need to use the touch screen. The biggest downside is that sometimes you HAVE to guess if you want to complete a puzzle because even after the game explains to you how you probably got the answer, you still dont understand what you did to solve it.

I Love this Game
I got this game yesterday and i can't put it down. The storyline is amazing and always keeps me guessing. The characters are unique and charming. The music is addictive and the sound is great. Overall this game is insane (in a good way) The puzzles make you think differently then you would on a normal basis. This game is unique and is unlike any game i have EVER played. This games target audience includes: Teenagers, adults, Elderly, But its not for little kids. I'm 12 years old and at points in this game it can be hard, but nothing too overwhelming. I suggest this game to anyone and everyone who likes challenging puzzles. In fact, This game is so good I'm going to buy the second game the day that i finish the first one. So if you like puzzles then you NEED this game :-)

its a addicting game
its a very addicting game i just bought it the other day and i cant stop playing they game. there's more talking in the game then playing it but the puzzles are great and challenging. i plan on bringing it with on my plane ride to Florida and i know that ill be playing the game the whole flight there and coming back. its a good game to play if you like a challenge. I think its good for ages over 12 because the puzzles do get very hard and i still have like five i haven't been able to get. the wi-fi is just a daily puzzle but the five to four is very hard i cant even get it. you have 5 squares made out of matches and u can only move two of the matches but u have to use all of them. I've tried so many and its always incorrect and i cant even figure out what i did wrong after.

Not A Great Game
I was very disappointed in this game. I expected it to be such a wonderful game seeing how I've played it before on my friend's DS before I got mine, but it was absolutely terrible! The puzzles are really hard and all you do is walk around the town of St. Mystere doing puzzles. There is really no point to the game besides hard puzzles. And I don't like how every time you need a clue, you have to give up a coin just to get one. All of the puzzles are incredibly hard so I've used almost all of my coins just on one or two puzzles! The characters are really annoying too, when you don't do one of their puzzles, they're all like "Oh come on! You're supposed to be the great Professor Layton!" or something like that. It is annoying and hard. I really do not recommend this game to anyone.

Great Logic/Riddle Game for all ages!
I bought this game because my sister was begging me to get it because she loves puzzle games. I bought it, thinking I wouldn't play it much, and when I got home my sister played the game. She was so satisfied, she actually got addicted to this game. She would always have some riddle that she wanted my help with, and I have to admit: a lot of those riddles are really tricky! They make you think of things differently then you normally do. I actually was going to rent this game at first, because I knew it would be one of those one week games, but even if you do finish it in a week you can still download many more riddles and puzzles using the wi-fi! Even if you don't like puzzles, this game is great to play! I have actually written down some of the riddles and have confused my friends! It is definitely worth it!

Lots of fun!
This game is a lot of fun and hard to put down. There is a puzzle within a puzzle. First you have a mystery to solve and to solve that mystery you must go around solving puzzles. It's nice because some of the puzzles are not has hard as others. I haven't done any puzzles that have made me think in a very long time. So this will really get your juices flowing. My 11 year old son enjoys the game too. All 3 of us have played and we each enjoy the game. The only thing that I don't like is that each time you start the puzzle up it gives you a little summary of what is going on in the mystery. That is nice if you haven't picked the game up in a few days. Unfortunately if a puzzle is stumping me I will shut it off and 10 minutes later start it up again because I want to complete that puzzle! It is very addicting but is not frustrating in a bad way. You don't loose sleep over this and I think it is good for anyone who enjoys puzzles/brain teasers.
