Great Game! I liked the setup, and if you get the game you should get the guidebook, too. I liked how your pokemon walk with you, and the only time the graphics are just ok is when you take pictures with Cameron the photographer. You should buy the game, it's worth the money!
I Like This Game...
You should get this game because the story is good. You can battle with friends if they have this game. You can trade with your friends and battle your rivals.
A Great Remake
Pokemon SoulSilver is everything great I remember about the original Pokemon Silver for the GameBoy Color. It's strange playing this game because, even though I recognize so much of the original material, it has all been given a great facelift after its 10 year hiatus. The graphics are great when you're walking around the world, but (as has been the case since the original games) the poorly animated sprites leave a lot to be desired once battles begin. The same thing goes for the sound; the music is great, but the 8-bit sounds the Pokemon make have lost their nostalgic appeal and are now annoyingly out of date. The story is just as paper-thin as you may remember it being in Silver, but that's almost a given with Pokemon games. The really great things this game does right are the controls, the interface, the challenge, and the length. If you have any good memories of Silver or if you enjoyed Diamond, Pearl, or Emerald, I strongly recommend you pick this game up.
A great remake and addition to the series!!!
This game was originally released for the Game Boy Color, then Game Freak decided to release it as a supped up remake for the DS. Just like Diamond and Pearl are these are great games. I had Silver as a kid so i was partial to Soul Silver. Heart Gold and Soul Silver took all the original aspects of Gold and Silver and enhanced them. They expanded the Pokedex and much more., little features like letting your 1st Pokemon in your line up follow you. Transferring Pokemon from the GBA games and catching them in the Pal Park.was a great addition.
I grew up with Pokemon, now I'm 24 and still love the games. I was 12 when blue and red versions were released. Each game has made improvement on the ones before them, whether huge, like adding day and night, or small, like expanding the Pokedex. Granted, it has flaws. But their in no way major flaws. Something tells me Pokemon will be around for a long time. And all the kids and the adults who grew up playing Pokemon, are gamers, and are still kids at heart (My generation) will play them for a long time to come.
the first pokemon game i played was diamond, and I really liked it. I then got platinum, the mystery dungeon games, the ranger games, but soul silver is probably my favorite. I recently got white, and i am not impressed. the graphics are truly awful, it just looks like they tried to hard. the graphics were really good in soul silver, very colorful, soft, not pixelated at all, unlike white. i had never played gold or silver, but before I knew of the remake was planning on getting silver, but i think this game was great anyways! If people think it tarnished the classics i disagree, I would say they improved it greatly. I loved the story, it was all new to me too, and it wasn't just a repeat of the classic story, it had some twists. the music (as always) was great. it was a great move by nintendo to connect the johto and kanto regions, to make the game last longer. im in the kanto region right now, and its great becasue there is just as much to do as in the johto! I would highly reccommend this game to anyone!
Black Market Poke Deals
It's at that moment you are fighting a random trainer and wonder why he has a Bulbasaur and a Charmander. What kind of back alley dealings has Professor Oak has going on... but that aside this is one of the best haldheld games you can play. There is well over 70 hours of gameplay if you just follow the story and not worry about Eggs, mystery, pokedex, legendary peoples or mini games. This game just won't stop. Eventually you will reach Mt. Silver and battle a guy you may have played as with an OUTRAGOUS team of high level pokemon. Add to that that you can have pokemon from all shapes, sizes and generations and you can have over 200 hours of gameplay. Thats right. 200 hours. Thats how many hours I had on the old Silver Version from back in the day. Right now I have about 60 and I'm grinding to take out Sabrina. This game is fantastic. RPG, Pokemon, Video Games. Don't matter. You will like this game. HIGHEST POSSIBLE GRADE OF AWESOMENESS!
I love this game! Really, I am a fan of most of the regular Pokemon games, but this one is just amazing. I really like the graphics, and as usual, the music is fun, upbeat, and catchy. The gameplay is no different from any of the other regular Pokemon games, but it is in no way boring or repetetive- everything is fresh, exciting, and fun! I like the fact that there are two regions to explore- it makes the game last longer and gives you more to do. The Pokewalker is neat and all, but i don't use it very often, and honestly, I don't really get the point of it. Fortunately, it is not necesarry to use the Pokewalker to play the game right. Anyway, SoulSilver is a fun game that you can sit down with and play for hours without getting bored. It is, as always, fun to trade with friends and show off your collection to others. It's a great time waster for really long car rides or for when you're at your grandparent's house for a long time :) In conclusion, this is an awesome game for long-time Pokemon fans or for those who are new to the franchise. I promise once you play it you'll be hooked!
This game is a must have for all pokemon fans
You can't go wrong with this epic remake of the old gold and silver game. The story mode is perfect, its easy to follow and is extremely lengthy depending on how you play the game. It's not possible yo finish this game fast especially now that this game includes two regions instead of one. Pokemon soul silver or heart gold will have you entertained for a long time. Even after you beat the story line there still is a lot to do, like capture legendaries which this game has almost every one except darkrai, I think. What I like about this game is whenever you pass the first region you get to add an additional member to your team with your choice of starting pokemon like the beginning of the game. BUY THIS GAME!!!!
Best Version of pokemon Yet
The one biggest thing about HG/SS that made me the happiest was the use of the touch screen. Now, your Running Shoes, Fishing Rods, itemfinder, etc can all be accessed with the tap of your stylus. It's also kinda cute when your Pokemon walks behind you mostly everywhere you go. The graphics have not only improved during the Story, but the graphics on the bottom screen when you battle has also improved. After playing a good bit of SS, I went back to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and I could not read what my Pokemon's moves were. The graphics in HG/SS make everything look so much nicer, crisper, and more beautiful. AS always, the control's aren't a problem, but I did find myself a little disappointed with the functionality of the Bike. I thought it was hard to control at some points in the adventure. Storywise, this game doesn't really differ that much from the original Gold and Silver. They did give it a bit of a "modern touch," one could say. You can catch Pokemon from every generation, not just the ones in the original Silver and Gold. One of the problems that I saw with SS it carried over most of the same problems from previous games. Catching Pokemon can still be a pain, but I guess that's all part of the game. Overall, this is a great game, and even if you didn't like Gold or Silver, you should buy this. Trust me, it's a lot different from the original two, but you'll still recognize some familiar tunes and stuff in the storyline if you've played G or S, and you'll find some differences in the story, too (such as the Elite Four). Even if you didn't, go out and buy this game if you're a Pokemon fan. For those of you who are just starting the series, this is a great one to kick off on because the new graphics, the style, and the story will keep you hooked for a LONG time. Thank you for your time.
i've been playing pokemon for a while.... i REALLY got into it when i played diamond. then i played platinum, then this. it's really fun. you don't need me to tell you the main aspects of pokemon. just know that they are all here. again, nintendo is being lazy with the same region, but who cares? big nastalgia and new areas! a great part was the pokeathlon, a collection of fun minigames for your pokemon to participate in. but, really, there is NOTHING new to these games. no new pokemon. nothing changed in the gameplay. same, and more GLITCHY, graphics. the battles are the same, and frankly nintendo, after more than ten years of this system, it's getting a little old. again, all the pokemon look the same (no pokemon customization) and you can't change ANYTHING about your character. its a great game, but really, this is just a very, VERY old house with a fresh coat of paint on, and frankly, i want a new house. give me a holler when nintendo changes things up.
