Product Details:

As the story unfolds, players will encounter the mysterious new Distortion World, an area unlike any seen in a Pokemon video game before. The Battle Frontier area (first introduced in Pokemon Emerald) has been added to Sinnoh, containing five new Battle Facilities for Trainers to challenge, each with its own special rules. Players can explore the new Wi-Fi Plaza a virtual Pokemon amusement park filled with activities, including three new mini-games where up to 4 players can compete at once.

Game Features:
  • Distortion World: As the story unfolds, players will encounter the mysterious new Distortion World, an area unlike any seen in a Pokemon video game before. The normal rules of time and space don't apply to this world, allowing the area to push the limits of the Pokemon game world. Players leap from pieces of land suspended in midair, walk sideways and even upside-down. The Distortion World, where the powerful Giratina resides, is somehow connected to the regular Pokemon world.
  • The Battle Frontier: The Battle Frontier area (first introduced in Pokemon Emerald) has been added to Sinnoh, containing five new Battle Facilities for Trainers to challenge, each with its own special rules. Each facility is run by one of five new Frontier Brains (characters that are similar to Gym Leaders). The new battle formats in each facility allow players to challenge themselves in new ways.
  • Wi-Fi Plaza: Players can explore the new Wi-Fi Plaza a virtual Pokemon amusement park filled with activities, including three new mini-games where up to 4 players can compete at once. Up to 20 players from around the world can connect together in the Wi-Fi Plaza to experience games, take part in parades and even see a fireworks show.
  • Enhanced Storyline: New characters add to the story, including Charon, a new Commander of the villainous Team Galactic (who is suspicious even by their standards) and an undercover detective, codenamed Looker, who is in pursuit of Team Galactic. Looker will help you throughout your adventure. Team Galactic has a new scheme they've turned their sights on all three Legendary titans of Sinnoh Dialga, Palkia and Giratina (all three Pokemon appear together in this game for the first time).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great game in a great series. This game is amazing! It took everything that Diamond and Pearl did, as well as fixed all of it's flaws. While the game may be a bit slow, it has great music, great graphics, and an invigorating story. If you have any of the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games, you're able to transfer Pokemon from there up to Platinum, and use them even more. Since there is technically 493 possible party members, the replay value is crazy. I recommend this entry for newbies of the series, as it isn't too difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game! One of the best pokemon games! I have played all pokemon generations from 1 to 6 and 4th gen has always been a favorite of mine. This game captures everything a pokemon game should have and more-from the fantastic music, to the engaging plot, and the totally epic legendary sequences. Getting Giratina in the distortion world is so epic because the place is filled with trips puzzles, and then the battle getting him. Its just amazing. I just recently realized that I never beat this game after finishing ORAS, and I decided to go back and play it through. Man, the nostalgia, my over leveled infernape just wrecked everything. Then came the elite four, and I used my new knowledge to make a team consisting of Rhyperior, Garchomp, Electivire, Gyarados, Giratina, and of course, infernape. I played this game and found secrets that I never knew existed, and it is so epic when you get Hearten, Dialga, Palkia, and all the others. It will be impossible to put the DS down when you start playing this. Enjoy! It's a pokemon master's dream

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretend Diamond and Pearl Don't Exist This game is that good. Diamond and Pearl have a slow overworld speed and the slowest battle system in any RPG ever. All of 4th generation (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver) are still the slowest in the series, with at least 3/5 moving at 30 FPS. Some overworld speed has been improved from D/P, the battle system is a normal for the series (still really slow to have HP bars go down, especially at high levels), and the regional Pokedex has expanded. That means that the Fire type boss won't have 2 steel types on his team and the ice type boss doesn't have a fighting type on her team. Some bosses are really annoying to fight, but overall, this is one of my favorite Pokemon games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Game Is My Favorite This game is amazing, everything. I have had it since I was 10 so about for 5 years. I still haven't beat it but i play it most every week. Everything in this game is beautiful, its a massive game, and the distortion world is awesome. Everything required to complete the game will take DAYS to finish, which will keep you entertained for weeks. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A game perfect for pokemon fans This game is great for people who wish to bond with their character. It is one of my favorite Pokemon games besides Pokemon White. The game play and sound is amazing. The graphics are ok, however they sometimes look put together a little sloppy. An example of this is in the Otherworld Dimension. There is also not much to do after you beat the game, except rebattle trainers and do contests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Pokemon Game Ever! This game has got to be the best Pokémon game I've ever played. I'm a huge Pokémon gamer and I've been playing it since Pokémon Silver and Gold were out. And I've been watching it for as long as I remember. This game is by far the best Pokémon game ever. I have, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black, White, Black 2, X, Y, Sapphire, Emerald, and XD Gale of Darkness. And Platinum is great. I mean it's a little over priced but it still worth it. The best idea is being able to re-battle the Gym Leaders with evolved Pokémon and their stronger. Like the first Gym Leader, I forgot his name Rorck I think it is not sure, he has a Cranidos like in the Anime. Once you beat the game you go to a certain little town and you'll see all the old Gym Leaders and he'll be there with a Rampardos. It's great. The storyline's great, gameplay's great, graphics aren't as good now due to the amazing graphics we see today like Final Fantasy 13: Lightning Returns but still their pretty good. It's amazing, I recommend it to every Pokémon gamer out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Overall this game is very good. It expands on storymode of diamond and pearl. The graphics are much better and the main story is great. The battle frontier is the best part. Its really fun and its actually beatable unlike Emerald. Best pokemon game for the DS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY FAVORITE POKEMON GAME Pokemon Platinum get my vote for the best pokemon game. You start out in Twinleaf Town and you meet your friend and you head out on the first route. Your friend, being the rambunctious kid he is, tries to go in the tall grass without a pokemon which is a no no. Just as he is about to enter the tall grass, Professor Rowan sees him and scolds him about not going into the grass. soon after dawn will bring a briefcase with the starters and you pick one. You can choose Turtwig the grass type, piplup the water type and chimchar the fire type. this game is almost the same as diamond and pearl except for the new battle interface and different story elements. Gen 4 is my favorite generation for many reasons. Sinnoh is a great region to explore with many places to visit. from MT. coronet and jubilife city to the distortion world and the spear pillar. The crime organization is Team Galactic and they have had the most catastrophic plan of any crime organization. their leader Cyrus not only wants to make a new world but he wants to make a new universe. The pokemon in gen 4 is my favorite roster. porygon-z, gliscor, infernape (my favorite pokemon), and the creation trio palkia, dialga and giratina. even arceus the pokemon god. so overall platinum is amazing and is well worth your time.
