As the story unfolds, players will encounter the mysterious new Distortion World, an area unlike any seen in a Pokemon video game before. The Battle Frontier area (first introduced in Pokemon Emerald) has been added to Sinnoh, containing five new Battle Facilities for Trainers to challenge, each with its own special rules. Players can explore the new Wi-Fi Plaza a virtual Pokemon amusement park filled with activities, including three new mini-games where up to 4 players can compete at once.

Game Features:

Distortion World: As the story unfolds, players will encounter the mysterious new Distortion World, an area unlike any seen in a Pokemon video game before. The normal rules of time and space don't apply to this world, allowing the area to push the limits of the Pokemon game world. Players leap from pieces of land suspended in midair, walk sideways and even upside-down. The Distortion World, where the powerful Giratina resides, is somehow connected to the regular Pokemon world.
The Battle Frontier: The Battle Frontier area (first introduced in Pokemon Emerald) has been added to Sinnoh, containing five new Battle Facilities for Trainers to challenge, each with its own special rules. Each facility is run by one of five new Frontier Brains (characters that are similar to Gym Leaders). The new battle formats in each facility allow players to challenge themselves in new ways.
Wi-Fi Plaza: Players can explore the new Wi-Fi Plaza a virtual Pokemon amusement park filled with activities, including three new mini-games where up to 4 players can compete at once. Up to 20 players from around the world can connect together in the Wi-Fi Plaza to experience games, take part in parades and even see a fireworks show.
Enhanced Storyline: New characters add to the story, including Charon, a new Commander of the villainous Team Galactic (who is suspicious even by their standards) and an undercover detective, codenamed Looker, who is in pursuit of Team Galactic. Looker will help you throughout your adventure. Team Galactic has a new scheme they've turned their sights on all three Legendary titans of Sinnoh Dialga, Palkia and Giratina (all three Pokemon appear together in this game for the first time).

Pokemon Platinum is the anticipated 3rd installment into the 4th Generation of Pokemon games. It definitely lives up to its expectations. As with Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon Platinum deals with Pokemon in the Sinnoh Region and the evil Team Galactic. But this time, the evil leader of Galactic, Cyrus, has decided to not only summon Dialga and Palkia, but Giratina as well. This causes the portal to Giratina's dimension, known as the Distortion World, to open up all around Sinnoh. This creates a much colder environment, therefore Dawn and Lucas must wear much heavier clothing. The game has some slight changes in the story and dialogue, but the main changes in this game focus on two aspects: The Wi-Fi and the Distortion World. Wi-Fi is completely enhanced, allowing you to not only battle online, but play mini-games and do other such things over Nintendo Wi-Fi with your friends and/or random strangers. The Distortion World really pushes the graphics system in the DS and completely succeeds. Aside from those changes, other changes include Gym enhancements, a stronger Elite 4, and a Cafe' where you can fight Gym Leaders and other one-timer trainers. There are also 3 Pokemon who get different forms. The main one is Giratina, who now has his Origin Forme. Then there is Shaymin, who has access to a Sky Forme. Finally, there is Rotom who can change into a Heat, Wash, Mow, Fan, or Freeze Forme. If you are a DS owner and do not own a copy of either Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl, then Pokemon Platinum is a MUST GET. But for those of you who have Diamond or Pearl, I would still suggest you get this game, as it is completely enhanced. But if you don't, that is your choice. All in all, Pokemon Platinum is a wonderful installment to the Pokemon Series and I highly recommend it.

Ok ,Let me just say i REALLY want this game, but the thing is it is almost completely the same game as Pokemon Diamond Version with the Team Galastic HQ in the windmill place!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

If you never played Pokemon before, than I'll explain a bit. Your goal is to be the best Pokemon trainer there is, as you train to get to the gyms, you meet some enemies that stand in your way. As you get to the gym, you'll go on all sorts of adventures. There are some new Pokemon added, and very fun. I got the game a long time ago and thought I should do a review. This game is indeed worth it. There are other Pokemon games out now, but overall, this is a good game for the DS.

After I got this game and got quite far into it, it wasn't like I thought it would be. It gets old after a awhile and fighting the other pokemon just become a chore. I don't see the value in these games, and why they are so popular, but I am not gonna get another Pokemon game.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This game is fabulous! The adventure is exiting! The more you play the more you want to keep playing! Team Galactic is not all that hard, The biggest threat of team Galactic is its leader Cyrus. The Battle Frontier is way better than the Diamond or Pearl. It's also cool that Giratina can change forms. Its origin form and its altered form. If you want to keep Giratina in its origin form even when it is not in the Distortion world, you have to complete the game and go into a certain cave to find the Griseous Orb. I don't want to spoil the adventure for you. One of the best parts is you can catch Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina in just one game!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

Okay, Black and White, were good, but there was really nothing to do afterward, Soul Silver, and Heart Gold were fantastic, but it was repetitive, that being it was already made in previous versions of game systems, and the story after the story lasted about three days for me. Pokemon Platinum, however, is the best game in the entire Pokemon Corporation. It has a great story, amazing graphics, excellent features, such as being able to travel underground, connecting to WiFi, the battle frontier, and much more! The Pokemon are fantastic, and the Sinnoh Region is huge! totally recommend this for any one and everyone! Enjoy the world's greatest pokemon game!
