Good. But not Great.
Okay. I will start out by this. I am 15 years old, and I bought this game because I love POTC. Okay. This game starting off was pretty fun and good. The fighting was unbelievably fun. Which is weird. The graphics are interesting but will do because of the ds. I am say this game has great gameplay. But, not awesome. The boss battles are what makes this game, and just fighting in general. I got this for 3 bucks at gamestop and it was worth 3 bucks. It took be about 50 hours to complete the campaign. Its weird but; this game beats At Worlds End by a longshot. So if I were you. I would get this game.

These pirates sure woo you with nice combat.
The Pirates of the Caribbean is rather one of Disney's most popular franchises. It has made ridiculous amounts of money and has pleased plenty of viewers throughout. And this game...was pleasing for certain portions. It centers around Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and Elizabeth as they succeed in traveling the world to find treasure or a certain fellow. What I liked was how historical it sounded. The whole story is fictional, but it seemed to pretty accurate of the technology, political structures, and other miscellaneous stuff of that time period. At least to someone with the most basic knowledge of history. What I also liked was that the plot wasn't based on only ONE conflict. For example, Captain Jack Sparrow is looking for a treasure chest which seems to have Davy Jones's heart in it. Meanwhile, Elizabeth in disguise is trying to find Will Turner since he was arrested. You go through different stages defeating enemies, solving puzzles, and playing some mini-games every now and then. After each stage you can go to an extras shop and purchase concept art for the movie that this game was based on, different characters to play as, or even purchase weapons you can use anytime you want. It sounds nice, but there's something you should know: this game is pretty simplistic. Getting through locations is easy fighting enemies isn't too hard, and the puzzles are ridiculously easy. If there's one main reason to buy this game, it's for the combat. It's simple, but pretty fun. The fighting patterns are basic, but it's fun to just stomp on your enemies with little struggle. This is mainly thanks to all the combos you can perform. Some you earn as you progress through the game, but others require you to find all 4 gems that are scattered in each level. Once you find all 4 in one stage, you unlock a new combo attack. While some are forgettable, the ones that aren't are a joy to use. Like the attack that knock down your enemy even if they're guarding. If there's another reason to give this game a shot, it's the boss battles at the end of each stage. They're not so difficult, but the way how some of them are played out is rather unique. Like the boss at the end of the swamp level. I won't give too much, but it's interesting how you defeat it. The mini-games were quite fun, also. Like Walk the Plank where it's memorizing pattern game where you keep repeating the same patterns until your rival falls off. The visuals aren't spectacular since it's going for a realistic approach, but it's forgivable due to the limitations of the Nintendo DS. The sound is quite basic like a more smooth sounding Game Boy Advance, but there are some tunes you might be stuck in your head for a while. Overall, this game is just slightly above average. I only recommend it to kids who enjoy combat games that involve fighting with melee weapons since this game would most likely cater to their interest, and they might still enjoy when they're older due to the fact that it's more easier for them to finish the game and can fight the enemies with more joy. But only get this game of it only costs like around 7 dollars since the game is pretty short. Anyone else who sees this, just ignore it. You won't be interested in it.

Good game for the immature, bad the reglular gamer
The graphics are not good, the game play is for kids because i enjoyed it as a kid. This game looks cheaply made and is a waste of time for a regular gamer. RECOMMENED FOR THE YOUNGER PEOPLE! i cannot stress that enough.
