Phoenix Wright: Justice For All
Lives Up To Expectations.
The first Phoenix Wright game brought us out of our little "blast everything that moves" mindset on games and brought us into the thinking side of games that didn't involve "Let's see... should I use the rocket launcher or the grenade?" Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney showed us another side of gaming that the U.S. had never seen before. With it's witty dialog, interesting storyline and thought provoking problems, Ace Attorney ushered us into a trilogy of PW games. Justice For All is the second installment in this wonderful series. In this reviewers opinion JFA was the best of the three. With the introduction of the new Psyche-lock feature, the game was more challenging than the first (though I still recommend you play that one first to gain an appreciation and overall understanding of the characters and story thus far). The characters are endearing and witty, and the humor never fails to produce at the very least a slight smile. The cases introduce an almost entire cast of new characters from a ventriloquist to a serial killer (without leaving out our old favorites) as well as three new locations. And with the chance to have two different endings in the game, the outcome in the last case is entirely up to you. I would recommend this game series as well as Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney to anyone interested in crawling out of their dark, little, no-thinking hole and into some more eye-brow furrowing, head-itching game play. The only grievance is that the game just isn't long enough.
I love all the games in this series and play them over and over again, even though I know the endings!!! I would recomend this game and others in the series to everyone who likes to play mystery games as this is the gold standard to me. The graphics are great and the storylines make you laugh because of how funny the characters act/look. I have been looking for other games that are just as good as these and sadly, I havent found one yet. I do want to warn you that this is very addictive, and you will want to keep playing forsaking sleep and food if necessary!! The music is typical of DS games, and to be honest I dont usually play any games with the volume turned on, but this series's music did not distract me from the game play at all.
Another great mystery game
The second title in the Phoenix Wright series falls slightly short of the expectations of the first game, but maintains all that made it fun. This game shows more of the mediums and their techniques, which seems like a filler to the plot. However, while the story may not be as fun to play as the first game, it is certainly as intriguing. From discovering secret identities, facing a vengeful opponent, and saving his sidekick's life at any cost, this game certainly delivers as much drama, mystery, and comedy as the first. aside from a few swear words, this game is good and fun, falling just short of the first.
