Simply Awesome
The kids chose to get this game for Christmas for my wife who is 43 and doesn't cook very often. It is very easy to use. The first night she was able to sit for a long time and just look at all the different meals and familiarize herself with it. Some may wonder how this is different from a cookbook. The DS "game" makes things so easy and explains things that even those with little cooking knowledge and prepare great meals. A cookbook may use terms or ingredients that the person is unfamiliar with and thus they are stuck. One the DS, it will explain terms so that all is clear. If there is an item needed to prepare a meal that is hard to find, it offers substitutions that will work. Meals elected to prepare are put into a shopping list on the DS and it can be taken to the store and followed, allowing the shopper to mark off what they have gotten. Anyone who like to cook or those with only mild interest should definately check this out. And yes, she has prepared food from it that she had never made before and it was wonderful.

A cookbook on your DS
This game is awesome. It has a lot of great recipies that I really enjoy making. Anyone who likes to cook and make new recipies will really enjoy this and get a lot of use out of it.

It is a Great Game!
All the recipes i have made on this game have been AMAZING! My family likes it because it lets them be able to eat something different, and i love it because it actually teaches you how to cook! It's not like cooking mama. It actually goes thought step by step instructions on what to do in order to cook the foods, and once you're done with a step all you have to say in continue you don't even have to touch your DS while cooking. Just make sure it's quiet in your kitchen or else he'll move on to the next instruction when you're not done yet! All in all this is a great game. I loved it so much i went and bought My Healthy Cooking Coach! So if you're a family or person who eats the same old thing every single day buy this game! It deffinently helps you think outside the box for what your next meal will be!

Good for some... not so much for my intentions...
I have very picky eaters here at home. This game does not cater to that. Now, that being said, the idea and the game interaction is good. The recipes are presented with the listing of all the needed ingredients and supplies as opposed to just listing the recipe. I like this. When you go to make a desired recipe, it is nice that you can read through the directions and start wherever you please. Again, a nice feature. The voice is nice too... not robotic. There is a feature where you can "cross off" the ingredients you don't want so you don't have to so much as see any recipe with that item. That is a real plus! On the flip side, I would just prefer more "kid friendly" recipes. There are some pretty crazy ingredients... not always found at a local grocery store. This means that even if my kids were to be a little more "experimental" in the food department, the recipes would end up being pretty expensive. Would I purchase another recipe Personal Trainer. You bet I would! I am quite sure there will me more to follow. But before I do make that purchase, I would make sure it presents more recipes for those living in the real world and not going to upscale grocery stores. Don't get me wrong. There are plenty of easy recipes, with easy to find ingredients too. But it seems overwhelmed with the fancier stuff. I would like to see Personal Trainer do cards with just desserts, or just breads, just low calorie and/or cholesterol, etc. I can certainly see that happening in the next few months. My wish on this one is that I had waited until a used copy showed up at the store... you can find them now!
