My French Coach
My French Coach is a fun game!
Learning French with My French Coach has been so much fun! When you start the game it gives you a quiz which determines which level of French to start you at. Since I did not have any French language experience, the game started me at lesson 1. In the middle and at the end of each French lesson, you then play games to reinforce the French vocabulary just taught to you. The games are a fun way to teach you to recognize words through visual and audio recognition as well as teaching you to respond in French appropriately. You can also practice your French pronunciation by speaking into the build in Nintendo DS microphone. Simply select the French word and then play it once or numerous times. Other features of the game include a quick search dictionary and phrase book. On my summer trip to France this year, I plan on bringing this game with me so that I can use it as a quick reference. Playing this game is much more enjoyable than driving to a French class every week that does not move at my own pace. That's my favorite part about this method of learning French, the game goes as fast or as slow as I want it to. This game was much more affordable option for me to learn French and I am glad I opted for it. So far, I can read, write and speak French on a kindergarten level with many more levels to go. Best of all, it fits into my purse easily so I can play whenever it’s convenient for me.
Great Learning tool
This was the best Language learning tool I have come across. It was easy to pick up and helped a lot. I Recommend it to any one is or wants to learn French. I also recommend it for students that are already taking French classes. (trust me it helped me a lot...)
French Coach: From "Huh" to "Comment allez-vous?"
As an twenty-something teacher, I had qualms about buying a DS (Will it enhance anything other than my "cool quotient" amongst teens and children?) HOWEVER, once I saw that they offered language programs I purchased the DS and the My French Coach program. I am drawn to play it every day, multiple times a day for various reasons. 1) They start you off with a placement test to see your French capacity and then keep you moving with lessons to suit your needs. My level was super-beginner so they started me at the first levels. 2) They present the lessons first, then a variety of games like wordsearches, whack-a-mole, flashcards, memory and multiple choice at different levels to test you. As you master more words, more games and lessons become available. They continue to incorporate mastered words into new games as you proceed. 3) They offer reference tools as well like a phrasebook, dictionary and sketchpad to record notes or numbers that may come to your mind on your French journey. The words and phrases available are vast. 4) The best feature is the ability to compare your pronunciation with the native speaker for any word or phrase in the game. You record your version of the word or phrase and can play it back in conjunction with the native version. I am not much of an action game sort of person so I really enjoyed the user-friendliness of the game. I highly recommend this program, and will probably get the Chinese one later.
Cool- Looking Game!
I think this would be a very good game to buy because it teaches a language, and I think it would be very good to learn a second language. You know, when you're older and you need to for your job, maybe? If that's not the case, then I still think it would be fun to learn a new language. Plus it's an excuse so your parents will let you play video games because it's educational!!

Ok, I see why they would out on the market. I think. But it some what cool. I might buy it. I'd like to learn a another language. I think it's very smart how they started teaching through well, what do almost all kids, tweens, and teens love? Video games!! So when they added those two together, they became geniuses. So very smart, idea.
