nice game recomed it for mortal kombat fans
mortal kombat has a nice story lots of cool characters not the best grapics but still preety cool
A faithful recreation of an arcade classic.
This is as close as you're gonna get to playing Ultimate MK3 on a handheld. This title might ward off casual players due to the CPU increasing its difficulty after a few fights. It can be a bit irritating but not so much that you'll hate the game. The graphics look the same as they did back in the 90s and the music isn't bad either. All the brutal finishing moves (which now may be considered tame) are all here in their bloody glory. Puzzle kombat is a nice but unnecessary addition but it does ad replay value if you want all the unlockables. I highly recommend renting this title first and I would strongly recommend it to hardcore fans of the series.
Partially Watered Down
Mortal kombat on the ds is one of the few M rated video games on the DS. The Game it self is very good, the controlls are smooth and very responsive. lets starts with the pros of this game. the game is very nostalgic. tons of replay value, hundreds of combos and moves to explore. Over 30 secrets in the game. Online is very nice, Download play online. However please bare with me the COOOONNNSS (Lol startrek reference) - The Graphics at times will make you shout What the heck!, This Game is missing Baraka AND johnny cage my 2 favs, AI are idiots, To Hard at Points (Cough Shao kahn), download play only supports 4 charectors, TONS OF HACKS! and the Worst yet. THE FATALATIES ARE WATERED DOWN. Now not all of the fatalaties are watered down only some. but the best. Scorpions 2nd fatalaties gets cut off. sheeva has no blood when she does her fatalaty and Sub zeros World famous Head Rip. gets Censored. People Who want to get into The Mk series but playing later games will make this game feel like a partial let down. As for hardcore fans. if you want to relive some memories go for it however Prepare to feel a little let down. Endome out!
kombat in 2d at it's best
playing mortal kombat in 2d has always been the best in the mk series.why they changed it i don't know.they should make a mortal kombat 4 2d and keep it original.
this is a must buy.
can't stop playing this game
Cant stop playing this game this is probably my faviorte ds game ever made it is just like the arcade version the only thing this game lacked from the oringinal arcade was being able to play galaga and the secret menues where you could play as shao khan or motaro other than that i like the game
THIS GAME IS AWESOME

overall good game. last 2 bosses are hard but its still fun to play and unlock newer stuff
An OKAY Mortal Kombat Experince
Mortal Kombat is an extremely awesome fighting series, and it was pretty nice to know that it was ported to Nintendo's most best selling handheld. Ultimate Mortal Kombat for DS is good, just not as good as we all expected. You see, once you get the game, you are gaven two modes to play with, the average exhibition ladder, and Puzzle Kombat. The exhibition ladder is the average MK fighting experince. You face a ladder of opponents, until you face Shao Kahn, you win and that's it. You can also perform fatalities, which is actually quite good if you know how to perform them. This mode entertains for a couple of hours, but it's gonna get old EXTREMELY old very fast, just because there's no purpose to replay the mode continously, unless you want to play the harder difficulties. Then, there's Puzzle Kombat. Puzzle Kombat, along with exhibition, can be played with a friend, through Ds Download Play. Puzzle Kombat has changed much from its Mortal Kombat Deception original. It plays like Tetris, as you use colored blocks to earn points, to give your opponent damage. At the end, you perform a fatality to finish them off. Overall, UMK 3 for NDS is a good game, along with the Multiplayer options, for those willing to destroy their friends in Kombat, but might not be enough to justify a purchase for the HARDCORE Mortal Kombat fan, with the lack of modes.
This game is basiclly a remake of MK 3 but on DS with the puzzle combat mode then its basiclly tetris but with MK style , the gameplay of the game is alright but for me to play with the DS pad was not so good on everything and controls are simple wich is good , the arcade mode is here and its challenging on any difficult you play and online matches are fun but you need lots of practice to dominate every single oponent , the main problem with this is then some fatalities are censored and they are not so bloody as they look on the 90s and the fact to play with the pad just sucks for me , i would like to play with joystick this game , but thats ok , after beating the arcade mode theres no much else to do but puzzle combat is really fun , this version is not perfect , but its one of the most violent games you will find on DS
