Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monster Rancher series = Epic If you have played any other monster rancher games and fallen in love with them, you will enjoy this game quite a bit. Even if you haven't played the games before you will love this game; the best part is if you'r friend's don't like the game you can play other people around the world on a wi-fi connection. There's so many different monsters and they can be combined to make hybrid's under some of the best graphics on the DS; this game is worth checking out not just for Monster Rancher fans but for anyone with a Nintendo ds. keep enjoying the video games everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game that is sadly overlooked Monster Rancher DS is a great new take on an already amazing series. It has a great combining system and has plenty of deep game play for those who want a lasting game. Believe it or not it is a fairly strategic game too due to the fact that your monsters only have a certain amount of time to live before they die so you have to raise them properly or they'll never quite make it as a Rank SSS Monster. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who has every enjoyed a monster rancher game or for those looking for a game they can enjoy for months

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feels rushed and unambitious. Challenge: There's certainly an amount of challenge (at first) in managing your monsters considering you have to watch how tired, stressed or hungry they are. However, this quickly becomes very predictable, and so long as a person's good at recognizing patterns they shouldn't have a problem. Graphics: The game's already two years old, and it wasn't that great to look at before. Backgrounds are 2d and bland, and the only thing of high detail are the monsters. There really isn't a lot of variety in locations either. Length: It's completely possible to beat the game in only 10 hours, and replay value is only high if you enjoy raising additional monsters, but keep in mind that there are only 29 main breeds with the several hundred monsters in this game being uninspired combinations. Plot: It's terrible: it seems Tecmo decided that appealing only to fans of anime stereotypes (who often wear their personalities on their sleeves) was a good idea, and many of the characters are as deep as a flattened cardboard box. Controls: They're great! But only because you push a grand total of one to three buttons at most during the game and none of them at the same time, but at least it works! Interface: Bad: Although the game uses both screens, it's fairly pointless, and menu's suffer from a lack of efficiency. Many of the menus could have been combined to avoid needless opening and closing of windows, but it just isn't so. Sounds: Repetitive, reused and rather annoying. Sounds like something out of the 90's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Game That Depends All in all i am familiarly with this series. Not much to say, it is an okay game that you must like depending on you taste. Hate pokemon like games, not into this. Love them, well give this a shot. Yes this did have a show a while back so it popularity still maintains. Hope you get into it I found it okay. So you either have a hate against it, a OMG this game rocks LOL, or you found a enjoyable game. So don't think its just some lame game it is a hit series. I believe it is a 8 out of 10, or a 3 out 0f 5. So don't rush to buy it probably rent it at a blockbuster and see what it is like. Just remember what your taste is for video games and you'll be fine on if you has wasted your money. To be honest i didn't buy it just rented and don't feel like buying it but it doesn't mean i think the game was bad.
