I've been playing harvest moon games for awhile now, since i was like 5! and once i bought island of happiness i was very disappointed because i had to use the stylus to run around, which doe not sparkle with me. but my mom bought me sunshine island i was kinda mad, i thought it was going to be another island of happiness but it wasn't! i am in love with this game! its so addicting, i'm not even kidding my parents have to literally pry it out of my hands to get my attention! this is one of the best harvest moon games i own (and i own a lot!) i love the story line its very original but its not going to off course of the original theme of the game. the graphics are amazing! i love all the characters expressions, especially shea's embarrassed face its so cute i couldn't stand but do a fan girl squeal. and to all the fan girls out there, u will love the adorable faces of the bachelors! i did! xD overall i really love this game i recommend this to anyone who loves harvest moon, and to anyone whos just starting/ or wanting to start playing the harvest moon series

I got this game for Christmas last year and it was seriously the first game I played and was completely addicted to. This was the first Harvest Moon game that I have ever played and since I have played it, I bought HM:GB and HM:AP as well. This game was a lot better than I originally expected and I'm glad about that. I adored the characters and their personalities. The fact that there were goals you had to reach in order to collect the Sun Stones I enjoyed as well, although others may disagree. The game has its own level of difficulty, expecially with the collection of the Sun Stones, but it is very enjoyable. You can chose to use the stylus or the control pad in many instances in the game, but I stuck with the control pad since the stylus part was a pain. There is plenty to do, weither it be training your cat, dog or horse for the festivals, making sure you greet and give gifts to all the villagers, mining, fishing, cooking and the all important task of taking care of your crops. This game provided hours upon hours of entertainment and is a definite must-have.

This games is awesome! If you have purchased harvest moon games in the past, this is yet another awesome one in the series! I strongly recommend this to people who like the Harvest Moon Series. If you are new to Harvest Moon, I suggest getting this game and the two other DS games as well (Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness and Harvest Moon: DS) Overall, this game is really cool and tons of people should play it. If you are afraid of playing a game thats to cheesy or something that you may not like, you should try it anyway because it is a great game! The graphics, sound, challenge, interface, and story line are all great! This is one of the best Harvest Moon games around. Natsume suprises all of us with each and every new Harvest Moon game that they create! If you had to choose a cool game, I think you should choose Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands!

The new Harvest Moon game is amazing. There are many new features, like the shipping bin, you no longer have to ship one item at a time. You can just click the shipping bin and have full access to your rucksack. The storyline of the islands makes the game more interesting. Locating sun stones throughout the islands and from befriending makes for a more challenging game. Characters from previous versions for gba are back. There is another option guy to marry. The events are better than any other version. To move around you can use the keypad again unlike the ds and ds cute version where you move completely by the touch screen. Using the keypad allows for better acuracy than other ways. The bigger variety of animals is also a plus. Even thought the pig can't leave the island. Overall its a great game and the best version.

I have been addicted to Harvest Moon games since they first came out. I'm currently playing Harvest Moon DS. I want the Cute version also but i can never find it in stores so I have to wait to buy it offline. But after reading all about the new Sunshine Islands I can not wait.! I'm definitely going to pre-order this game as soon as I have all the money. I can not wait for this game! I've loved all the harvest moon games so far except for Island of Happiness for the DS because I couldn't get used to using the touch screen for everything. I'm glad they changed that in Sunshine Islands. :) I also can't wait to have a pig!!!! I always wondered why there was no pig. Lol. Anyways I can not wait for this game. I'm counting down the days til this comes out! Yeeeeee!!! ;)
Rated 9 out of 10 by ShoX The Harvest Moon series just kicked up a notch
When I first heard that a new Harvest Moon game was coming to the DS, I was determined to buy it. After buying this game, I have not regret for one moment buying it.
This is definetly the most advanced HM game on the market, with specific "water points" and "sun points" for not only crops, but grains and trees too! There are even more animals involved this time too with cat, pig, badgers, sparrows, rabbits, ducks, mice and monkeys to name some of them.
The tool upgrade is a bit of a pain since you need to use "wonderfuls" which are very rare, and can only be won in festivals, and after many (game) years of work, made by yourself.
The romantic prospects are a plenty in this game, both for female and male players.
For those who liked the mining system in previous HM games will love this one with lots of challenging floors (255 floors to be exact) to explore.
A huge tips for players, both experienced and newbies: BUY THE STRATEGY GUIDE. I will pretty much say it is a "must have" to manage to play this game, and have fun with it (sadly, but true)
This game is without doubt a 5 out of 5 in my book, and a must buy for HM lovers and time managment / simulation fans!
Good luck, and happy farming!

This looks like the best HM yet! Ive been addicted to the games for a long time and am so excited about the newest one. This game is based of of the latest HM game Island Of Happiness. Which i thought was a fun relaxed turn on the normal HM games. This game is supposed to have the same charecters with the addition of a few new characters and scenes. New animals and themes, and a bigger plot to the storyline. You have to unlock each of the parts of the island, and meet new animals and objects. It seems really awesome. You still have the original HM layout, such as growing crops and getting married, but with a few additional plus's. I can't wait!

Natsume tends to push Harvest Moon games back a lot, and yet there are still a lot of spelling errors you may find. But I don't honestly care, the Harvest Moon series are some of the best games out there! And I can tell this one will be a lot better than Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness. I'm glad that finally the animation looks as it does on some of the other consoles, such as the Wii. I can't wait for this game, plus, I'm going to pre-order. That pig looks adorable, and I got a cow for pre-ordering (by one day, lol) Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. Okay, I'm babbling. I'll sum it up-- I want this game!!!

The plush is what made my final choice to break down an buy this game over all. I have the first ds Harvest moon game they released and was over all not too happy with it.. :( but this one looks like it might renew my faith in the handheld department of this series. The graphics look fantastic, also as a plus you get to choose your gender. I know alot of the harvest moon games you either had to buy a new version or you just could not change your gender. So we'll see if it holds up to my expectations that I expect from the series: challenging yet fun gameplay an story line. <3

It seems that it's going to revolve around the characters from the IoH game. While the game was decent it absolutely required the stylus to do anything. I haven't read much on this game, I like to be surprised and such, but hopefully this game will have cut down the stylus use by at least half, as well as fixing other problems I had with IoH. Now if your excuse me, I need to continue my desparate search for an original Rune Factory game.
