Rated 3 out of 5 by from No peripheral, but great game! Pros = fun with tons of replay value and difficulty settings Cons = does not have dlc or come with peripheral Worth = buy it used to make up for the peripheral Okay, guitar hero obviously doesn't change a great deal gameplay wise. It is solely based on the music list it has and here lies the problem. It has ton of replay value, but I'm disappointed that I can only play with one person instead of 4. Some of the songs on there I don't like will others I love. It be nice to increase the lateral with download content or your going to find others disliking the game because they don't have any songs on there they liked to play. Something that makes matter worse, this one doesn't come with the guitar grip peripheral even bought new. So you have to buy that separate or you won't be able to play the game. One good thing they did was have a good range of difficulty settings. Reviews for Guitar Hero On Tour (prequel) and Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits (sequel) should be about the same. I would most likely give those 8 stars if it came with the guitar grip. Also, take a look at Band Hero. Which fixes some of the problems with this series. Jam sessions is a close 2nd since it tries to go for a more realistic approach and you don't have to get a guitar grip, but it ends up not being as fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellentae! I love GH for ps2 so when I got a ds I HAD to buy this. I got it new with bundle for 5$. AMAZING PRICE. OK Graphics. Im dissapointed with the amount of songs but they're good songs like Sweet Home Alabame, Middle, and You Give Love A Bad Name. Youd think: Guitar Hero for ds. Sounds stupid and easy. WRONG! awesome and hard. Excellentae. GH on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Amazing!!!! Ok. Ill just start off saying, AMAZING! It was perfect for a long 15 hr drive, so i got it for Christmas. It has a great song variety. i only hated 2 songs: 1 way or another by blondie (u will probably love this song if ur a girl). And Satch boogie ( very boring song w no words- this is not the little feat version ). BTW, Satch boogie was even challenging on easy and medium. Ok, 1st of all, give this game a chance, when i 1st got it, i played it on easy and was bored out of my mind. Wait till medium and hard, its so much fun. They give u options to play lead guitar, bass/rhuthm, and guitaer duel (so much fun!!) - this gives more variety to the game. Also, ya after u play bought 5 songs, ur wrists hurts a little. Just take a break and pop them wrist bones and its fine. Its not comparable to regular console ones but amazing 4 handheld. The graphics r decent 4 handheld and sound is amazing w headphones (reccommend 100%). Also, ya nowadays most games r m rated. This game is so much fun 4 the whole family! I recommend to every1!!!!!! absolutely, no doubt bout it! 1st 1 was great, this is a step up w more variety in songs. Go buy, & hav a blast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game This game is great! It has 28 songs and each are great! The thing is that when I played this new guitar hero (on DS), I was expecting to play Bob Segers song of "Old time of Rock and Roll". This song is not included in this game. Although, it does have some great classics like We are the champions by queens and One way or another by Blondie. The sound in this great is amazing! In this game, you actually get to play Guiar Duel by yourself with the computer instead of finding friends with the same game and that can be difficult to find people with the game. This game is just amazing and the story mode on each one of these three different career is at least nearly 45 minutes long. It's is really a great game when on the road. If you loved the old Guitar Hero on DS, then you'll like this one as well, maybe even better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from some improvements First, this game is basically the same as the first on tour game. Same gameplay, same game modes, same characters. However, this game definitely made some improvements. There are 28 songs instead of 26 songs, including songs like we are the champions and sweet home alabama. But, some of the songs are garbage, like I believe in a thing called love and la bamba. A big new feature is how they improved the career mode: instead of playing through all the difficulties to fully complete story mode, you can play on a difficulty like expert, and story mode will be completer for expert, hard, medium, and easy, which is good for experienced players. Also, you can do a bass career and do guitar battles in career mode. The new music sharing thing is ok, but not the best feature. A few things are bad though: when you activate star power with the touch screen, you have to do it during a long note or during no notes, otherwise you'll lose your streak since you can't strum in the bar like in the first on tour game, Doing all 3 careers takes too long, and it would have been nice if there was an online mode that could at least have leaderboards. Otherwise, this is a great game to get.
