This game is perfect for: casual gamers

Ok, the 1st fft game, well, was ok and was pretty fun, but this one, AMAZING!!

Gameplay:
The gameplay is just great. It's a great roleplay/ strategy game. It involves alot of planning ahead and thinking. There are alot of jobs to choose from, unlike the 1st fft game. Even after the story, there is still hours and hours of gameplay ahead for you. The storyline is very interesting and touching, and im sure that you will like it too. There aren't alot of places where you get "stuck" for hours like some games, so its more relaxing then the other ff games.

Graphics:
The graphics are very nice, too. I enjoy the in-def detail in the game while playing . But, in the one attack (Scions Wrath) the details are not all that impressive, but that's pretty much the only downside to this game graphic-wise.

Sound:
The sound is very interesting and entertaining in this game. All of the noises go very well with the movements and story lines

Animation:
I absolutely love all the animation added to this game. The first fft game didn't involve a whole lot of animation (well what do you expect from a gba game :P) and it kinda disappointed me. The animation for the magick and abilitys is very amazing and awe-inspiring. I'm sure you will enjoy what this game will bring animation-wise.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

Don't think your buying a remake of the GBA version cause your not. After we accept that fact A2 tactics is a great game. The imense amount of "clansmen" (you can have 24) , combined with seven different races (each of which can master numerous jobs or classes), an immense number of sidequests, and you've got a game you can replay mutiple times. The story also doesn't bore you but keeps you interested and the different songs can be catchy. Overall it's a great game for those familiar with the genre and even those who have never played an rpg before.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

this game is a fun game to play, it has lot of job classes to master. you can use the touch screen of the d-pad to control the character so the controls aren't bad. story isn't that bad either. the only down side is this game seems a bit easy. its still fun to play though. i think the original tactics is still the best but this game is worth it though. this game everybody can pick up and play it. it doesn't take to long to get used to the controls and what does what in the game. go get it you'll like it.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

From the original to the latest, the games just keep getting better! Exciting strategy, combined with Intense battles and hundreds of missions. No doubt that gamers who have enjoyed other tactics games would enjoy this, and even those who are new to the world of tactics. Logic lovers and big time fighters alike, this game is for everybody, it's certainly the "Whip for the cream."

I actually borrowed this game from a friend. I hated the original FFtactics for the PSX... absolutely despised it. Even now I despise it, I wouldn't even be able to bring myself to look upon it. My friend however forced me into playing this game and I am very pleased with it. The controls are easy and the utilization of both screens is close to perfect, there is nothing confusing about this game. And it presents a challenge, especially with "laws" and such. I've been playing for thirty hours and I'm only done with sixty quests while it seems like the game isn't even halfway through. The number of jobs is amazing and I really enjoy the ability to dispatch your characters. Finding enough materials to get another knife with a thief ability is a little frustrating though... I want to be a ninja... right now.... but NO, I have to get a fourth thief ability... Dang thieves. Oh well, I guess it's alright. But anyways, cool game, go play it.

The World Ends With Me

The game at first felt like a dream come true for me when I saw an ad for it. The first one is a blast to play and had a great story line and unforgettable characters. The game begins like the original tactics advance did (luckily, a snowball fight is not your tutorial for the basic gist of battles). The main character is a mischievous boy who must help clean the school on the last day of school. He finds an old book on a table and looks inside of it. The first page of the book asks for the kid`s name, while all the other pages are blank. The kid writes his name in the book and is "warped" away and disappears. The setting changes into a Forrest like area with (and if I can remember correctly) three people are there along with a few monsters. You listen to their conversation and in the middle of it, the boy that disappeared from the library appears. The three people let him join their clan and tech him how to fight. After all of that, you do a few story mode missions and then you get to experience one of the greatest features of the game. That feature is freedom. Instead of going from story mission to story mission, you can do side quests that don`t have any thing to do with the story. Another freedom is that you can hire and fire people from your clan whenever you get the opportunity. You can fully customize pretty much any characters in your clan. Changing what type of unit they are, the abilities, their stats, and their weapons. Another great feature is the bazaar feature. You collect different materials during battles, and via shop, you can trade these items for weapons armor and so on. The story is one of the games flaws. It can be pretty boring at times and one of the only reasons for continuing through the story is giving your characters new abilities. Every so often you will run into what I like to call "impossible" missions that either take 15 tries or a few hours of leveling up and customizing of characters to finally win. I am currently on one of those missions so I cannot write a full review. The graphics are okay, and you will find yourself using the buttons more then the touch screen. The music is not the best and repetitive. Over all, the game is a great strategy RPG once you get over its flaws, but if you cannot, this game will only last you about five months or less.

Another Tactics game, another disappointment. First off, this piece of work is by no means a bad game in its own right, but it really has no right (nor did the original advanced version) to be graced with the same title as the original PSX greatest hits title. Although it kept me entertained, even on hard was a little too easy. The problem is not that this game is bad, it's just it doesn't compare to the original. The player never has to worry about losing a character so can throw them out like pawns to the slaughter-unlike the original where characters would die-this makes the game much easier and makes tactical decisions less important. The loss of Chacaboos is a devastating hit to the tactical side of things as well in the advanced games. Also always knowing when a battle is coming, a scattered and unorganized storyline, and the fact that not all races can be all jobs add to the frustration of people who were so accustomed to an amazing interactive experience which was the first game. The only interesting twist added to the last tactics game that made it to this sequel is the unique weapon and ability interaction. The questions to be answered are: Where is the deceit? Where is the purely soul griping storyline, the anger, the murder, the death, the frustration, and I even the zodiac system? Although the new races add a little glimmer of advancement in the game system, they really just take away from the realism the first game was so marvelously able to capture in a fantasy setting. I cannot relate to these characters, and the only reason I and others from the PSX generation play this game is for the little reminisce of the original version that this game is riding on. Bottom line: if you have gotten your hopes up for a truly justified Final Fantasy Tactics, skip this game and wait for the next disappointment.

Another few years, another Tactics game. It seems like these don't come out often enough, since I have 3 of them and have beaten 2 (both Advance and A2), and I still need more. First, before you go any further and even slightly enjoyed the original Advance or the original Tactics, go out and buy this game. Go on, I'll wait. ...You still haven't bought it, have you? Well, I'll explain WHY you should want this. First off, what everyone seems to notice first: the graphics. They aren't full 3D, but the sprites are incredibly well-made. Secondly, the gameplay. It's simply phenomenal, and that's a bigger understatement than saying that a turtle is marginally slow. The character customization is just flat-out great, except that instead of leveling up in a job to get abilities, like in the original Tactics, you're stuck with collecting weapons. If you didn't mind this in Advance, you certainly won't mind it here. And if you've never played a Tactics game, let me explain: You equip a weapon, battle and do quests, and you'll soon get the ability associated with the weapon. Honestly, this will get somewhat annoying, but it's worth it in the long run.The music, as usual, is great, if perhaps a bit unmemorable. It almost always fits the mood of the scene, like any game should, but has a bit too little variety, keeping it from getting ten in that area. The amount of time this game will last could be a bit longer, but it will take a good amount of time to finish the game entirely. Even I haven't, and I've put almost 90 hours into one file on Normal mode. Oh, and I forgot to mention: there's a hard mode for those who have beaten every aspect in Normal mode.Frankly, about 280 quests in, things get a bit dull. Luckily, the previously mentioned hard mode brings the fun back into the game.All in all, if you like almost any strategy, RPG, or strategy RPG, you will definitely enjoy this game. However, if you don't like either, try it anyway. Just promise not to throw things at me if I'm wrong.

When this game came out I was anxious to go and buy it. It met most of my standards, and considering I have high ones, that's great. As for improving on the first FFT definitely an A+. The way you start with 0 Mp at the beginning of a battle is great because it completely voids mages from destroying everything at the beginning of the battle. The extension of classes makes for endless combinations of A abilities to perfect your units and eventually your team. I would also like to include that the Passive abilities were really improved upon because in some cases they made your unit amazing or really bad. The continent system was most definitely improved as well as clan recruitment and monster battles. Eliminating the combo ability and the S ability really broke my heart... but when I got my first Scion equip i understood what the smash gauge was for. Opportunity turns also filled the void as well. As for the story... ehh it could have been better. It seemed a little tired and worn out to me. I enjoyed the post game storyline much better. The sounds... well let's face it were kinda weak. However, the Scions sounds/animations were impressive. Now let's talk about add-ons. This section in my opinion was the game's biggest strength. The addition of the 2 new races was what I was most excited about. Granted "Mirror Items" is severely overpowered [one of the Seeq skils] all the other classes had well balanced skills and contributed to gameplay positively. Making you unlock your jobs through quests was what I found most exciting about the new jobs, and let's face it.. Square enix did not fail in the "new jobs" department. The Bazaar system was also neat. This allowed you to earn your items through killing monsters, their loot thus made your equipment. The auction system seems gimic-esque at first but proves to be very crucial in post storyline gameplay as well. I'm sure if overlooked a few things in this review, but considering i've logged almost 110 hours in this game I assure you that if you were a fan of FFT you will be a fan of FFTA2.

Put Plainly, The Story outright was just terrible. Im sitting around playing this game with a level 86, Beaten Illua several times, beaten the five kings mission and I sit there thinking whats next? Even with 250 of the games quests completed and only 75 hours to do it, more should have been added. What really angered me was the only wifi they decided to put in was a really poor raffle for an item system. Id rather take on people on wifi with my band of 6 and my combinations against theirs. The Main story was very predictable, get sucked into a book, find a way back, hooray, a three year old could figure it out. The Side quests were the good part of the story such as the Duelhorn side quests. Over time I actually grew to like Duelhorn, until i completed all the quests and wasnt rewarded with anything of use to me at all. Customization was well done, but could've been done better, graphics were much better than the GBA version of the game, The Interface was simple enough so the most moronic of people could use it, which is good because it had a decent combat system that posed a challenge on some quests and not so much on others. I would recommend this game to others, just not as highly as I would have prior to the games release.
