Hey I don't know what got into the angry guy that made the comment to not buy this game, and that it sucked and was impossible to beat? But I'll tell you something, how old are ya? Are you like 5 or 6? Final Fantasy games are supposed to be long and hard fought battles. You don't want to go to a boss and beat him in one or two turns like you think its supposed to happen! Your supposed to be proud and say to yourself, I finally beat him and when you finally beat the game your proud to say that you beat it. Final Fantasy games are Long adventure games not short and sweet sponge bob games, But hey you probably can't say that you beat it can you. Word of advise if you write a bad review you're not a true Final Fantasy FAN! And to the others that want to buy it, GET IT, don't hesitate to get it because of some non Final fantasy fan says it sucks because it doesn't. I almost didn't get it because of that snoot nose kid. Spend the money and buy it and have a great adventure.

FF IV was sooo amazing! I loved everything about it from the music to the characters to the storyline. Edge always made me laugh and oh Cid... you just gotta love that old chap. This game is as good as the best book I've read, maybe even a little better and that's saying something b/c I am a total book worm. I recommend this game to anybody who loves a rather challenging RPG. The only thing that kinda dissapointed me was that I couldn't name the characters. Sure, the original names were great, but on the second time through, it'd be nice for some variety. Sometimes I did get discouraged and quit playing for a while b/c I was too tired to level crunch. One of my favorite side aspects was the Music Box and Wyat. All the mini-games are great, except Rydia's which is super hard. Nobuo Uematsu makes such amazing music. This game is what turned me onto the rest of the Final Fantasy music. The OST is another great buy.

I played this game in my youth on the SNES console and was immediately hooked. Long nights of leveling and getting into the story. Played the remake on most systems praying for the day they would turn this legend of a game into a 3-d version with cutscenes. My prayers have been answered. The difficulty level has been ramped up a level, characters are better than before. Even the cutscenes make me wish that they would go ahead and just bring this game to the PS3 just to actually see the environments. The environment and music are first class. Character development is exceptional and the new cutscenes make this one game that will make you replay this for a while. I wish there was more of the cutscenes but given the console and what this remake has done you would not go wrong with this game. Just make sure you have a lot of caffeine, snacks, and even a comfy place to sit you won't move for a very long time.

I must personally say i never got into the FF craze of the first FFs or really any for that matter. I have played FF:Crystal chronicles, FF3 & FF4 (as you would assume) all for the DS and thatis IT. I found the storyline a bit old and recycled, leaving me desiring more of a well thought out plot, but i must take into consideration this is a remake of an old game thus they didn't want to change the storyline to terribly much. the music in regular FF style is very well orchestrated though a bit loud through out the game. the graphics for a DS game are some of the best i've seen so far, they shading on the characters in cut scenes is great ^_^ . they're some parts of this game mainly boss fights that will have you grinding your teeth, but other than boss fights and those *shivers* sand slugs you'll find it pretty easy. I hate the fact that you are basically handed your armor throughout the game and none of your characters change appearance when you equip new armor :( but other than that this game overall is one i'd recommend to anyone it's pretty good , just leaves the FF fan in you hungry for more.

Anyone who has played a FF game in the last 5 yrs knows that improving graphics are its shining light. FFIV continues this tradition, with great clips and animation throughout the game. On DS, game developers have stuck closely to the original storyline in previous titles and in this one as well. The gameplay is as challenging as other FF titles, making you think and act quickly in battles. For gamers who wish for easier battles, simply change your settings from the game menu. Personally, the faster, the better! One improvement in this title is that if you get lost on your quest, you can access your menu and read a caption from your character and remind yourself of what is the next challenge in the story. All around, the game is amazing and very addicting, despite the usual long boss battles. I highly recommend this for those who want a good classic RPG to play.

Hello interested Final Fantasy buyer! Here is a review on how I think this game really is. This is my first Final Fantasy game I've ever played and purchased. Starting off, I own Pokemon Diamond, Advance wars Days of Ruin, Mario Kart DS, Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass, and last of all FINAL FANTASY IV! I personally have to say that FF 4 is by far the best game on the nintendo market as of right now. The gameplay is really addictive, graphics are just astonishing, along with the incredible sound quality that they have introduced to the nintendo ds. This game has a very long story line, I only have 10 hours on it as of right now and its just going great! The controls provide many ways to maneuver your character and the battle system is really cool, it keeps you on your feet! In fact, I'm going to play it right now. Don't wait, JUST GET IT!

This is one of my all time favortie FF games. It was one of the first if not the first to have such an in depth story line that had so much betrayal death sacrifice the story made you want to actually go in and defeat the main bad guy of this game. Now it is getting reamped up with all new graphics and new content better than the original with a more updated to the written story so you can expect this game to be as good if not better than the original one. They do not make FF as they used to anymore I wish they did. I am hoping since square is on a remake thing that they end up remaking FF 1 FF2 FF 5 and FF6 the same way they are remaking 3 and 4 that would be awesome if they did that. Who knows they might jsut do it. Can't wait to play it though it will be better selling than FF3 was on the DS I think.

I must say that when I heard this game was finally coming, I nearly wet myself with excitement. This is the best FF game of the old generation and has remained my favorite throughout the whole series. The characters are individual and the story is touching and full of twists. The re-done graphics, music, and voice overs will push this game over the edge. I like that the ATB gauges are shown so that you can see whose attacks are coming up next and that you can teach your characters abilities used by characters who have left. This gets rid of the ruinous "choose any previous character for your final team" they had in the Advance port. That changed the game too much. I also like how it has a New Game + option which makes it more fun to play through again. The new translation is better than ever and includes parts of the script not in the other versions. But of course, what does remain is "You spoony bard!", a mistranslation classic that they kept since everyone loved it! For anyone who hasn't played the original, I recommend to get this because it will not disappoint. This will be the version of this game that it was always meant to be. I'm counting down the days.
Rated 10 out of 10 by rocknroller Could Be My All Time Favorite Game...
I got the new Final Fantasy IV after hearing friends talk about the FF series. I didn't know which FF game I was going to buy but i wanted one. I ended up with 4 because it was the first one I saw at Game Stop and it was only $20 (used). Let me tell you, I picked the right one! If you have never played any of the FF games, played a few, or know them all by heart, this game will blow your mind. I have played a good number of games in my life but none of them stayed with me like FFIV did. The story is crazy and never gets boring. The graphics and music are awesome. The features (which I hear are new but i don't know) really keeps the game tied together. You can't go wrong with this game. I made a Game Stop account to tell people how awesome this game is. My review can be summarized with one word - MASTERPIECE.
Rated 9 out of 10 by final fantasy man this is a really good game
This is a really good game for those who did not play the first one and u have a DS this game is a definite game to play. Not only does it bring back one of the greatest final fantasy games ever made but it brings back one of the best characters ever in the history of gaming, Cecil. Although he starts off a really cool black night then later a cruddy paladin he is a great fit for a game like this. With the new 3d characters and gameplay there is just one thing u should do buy the game or at least consider it. Not only are the graphics great with 3d but the controls are much better than the remake of final fantasy three also for the DS. This game is probably one of the best handheld RPG's of the year mostly because it is final fantasy style and not a crapy remake like final fantasy three was.
