From a person who owns the game!
This game is not made after the Harvest Moon Games. I own most of them so I know the difference. I would like to say Farmtopia is an original game but the sad fact is it plays just like Farm Frenzy (PC & DS Versions).
This is a time management game. You collect eggs, send them to town to earn money or make items with the eggs and work your way up to making other items. You capture bears and send them to market for money. You upgrade your factories, truck, storage and well. Overall it is a fun time management game. I prefer the original Farm Frenzy but when I finish the DS version of that I'll probably tackle this whole game too.

NO HARVEST MOON
This is a cheap knockoff of harvest moon I know alot of people play farmville but harvest moon was out way before farmville was even thought of I am a harvest moon player and I do not think I will waste the money on farmtopia

OMG!
This is such a knock off of harvest Moon and Farmville! If you like boring farmville...... than get it. If you are more into harvest moon and other rpg style games..... than forget it!

Why does everyone think it's a HM rip-off?
Just look at the boxart, it's clearly some company trying to capitalize on the Facebook craze by making a DS game that only people who have DSes and money will buy due to facebook games being (mostly) free...

Knock off but not so
This is just a knock off, first off the facebook farming craze that was first copied off of harvest moon This mostly seems to be a cheap set that someone would try to sell if this seems interesting, then go get a harvest moon game, there's like 5 of them out for the ds and a couple more to be translated

Well makes me laugh
Everyone says "Harvest Moon knockoff" which, i didn't know Natsume owned every right to farm games out there, watchout farmville! lololololol. Must say though have been playing Harvest Moon since the SNES, love it, one of my favorite series, and i don't think this game would even come close to picking up fame as the Harvest Moon series.

Sound Great!
I dont know what everyone's problem is with saying that it sounds like Harvest Moon. I have never heard of Harvest Moonuntil I read these reviews, but there are ALOT of similar games out there. Farm Mania, Farmville, and a few others I can't think of the name of. I doubt very seriously if Harvest Moon can sue them for making a similar game. It happens all the time! This is obvioulsy a popular type of game right now so they are going with the buzz! I for one will be ordering mine next week!

Whoever made Harvest Moon is going to sue.
This game has already been made before. Ever heard of Harvest Moon, 505? And Harvest Moon is so much better. It has a storyline, mining, fishing, marriage, kids, farming, animals... shall I continue? I definitely wouldn't buy this game unless I was on game-withdrawal and needed a cheap game ASAP.

Hm, where have I heard of a game where you can take care of farm animals and crops? Oh yeah, Harvest Moon! Except the latter game has many more things, like social interaction with townpeople, mining, fishing, marriage, kids...and an actual story line. But hey, this game is cheap, but if it was me, I'd spend the extra few bucks on a worthy farming game. (This is starting to sound like a commercial...)
