Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
A classic reborn
As I browsed through the previous comments about how most of these gamers have never played a DWM/DQM game and stating that they want to play it, really means a lot to me. I have spent years playing them, starting with the original, Dragon Warrior Monsters for the Gameboy. The progression this series has made is something truly wonderful. There's something magical about the DQ series. From the wonderful 8-bit gameplay and sounds, to the Nintendo DS, fans both new and old will love Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2.
Awesome game, people
This game had a great storyline and AWESOME characters with deep personalities. I REALLY liked the main character because he was an intruder on the airplane, then the silent flight attendent, then the silent newbie of monster scout, than a hero who saves a very prickly, spoiled girl, and an adventurer he was. I still like to start over and play again and enjoy the game.(=
if you like dragon warrior NES,you'll like em all.
I remember when first introduced to this series.I was just a kid and got a copy of Dragon Warrior for the NES.At a garrage sale and really never played it until many years later and if I could appreciate the original on the NES console.and as well put many hours into the first dragon quest monster joker this one will ROCK!!
DQM:J2 is quite possibly one of the best games on the DS. The first one was good (and had an unforgettable commercial), but this game blows it out of the water. The amount of content packed into this game is truly awe-inspiring. It has a good plot, a terrific assortment of monsters, and the game mechanics are top notch. Monster synthesis is both fun and creative, and time flies quickly while training and synthesizing the perfect team. If you're looking for some substance in your DS experience, then this is definitely the best game you could get.
An Amazing Game
I pre-ordered this game because I could get double Power-Up Rewards Points. I had not played the previous game, so I looked at the trailers, and I saw that the first game was good, so I thought this would be even better. And it is. There are so many new monsters, and the 3D graphics were breathtaking. Unfortunately, if ever you close in on an object in the game, it will look pixelated. But it is not really a big issue. I can easily look past it, and I'm really picky about graphics, gameplay, etc. This is a good game to start with, even if you haven't played a Dragon Quest game before, since it introduces you to different monsters, so you'll have a head start on knowing all the new monsters, which will probably be used in the next Dragon Quest game. This is fairly similar to Pokemon games, so if you play Pokemon, this really won't be that new. Get this, especially if you're a Dragon Quest or Pokemon fan.
If you are a fan of Dragon Quest or DQM (Dragon Quest Monsters) you might want to get this game.it has some newer monsters like Teeny Sanguinis and older ones.If you loved the first DQM I recomend you get this game.
my number one favorite ds game of all time is back! i have spent over 100 hours playing this game total, and i still havent beat all the sidequests! this game even falls into my list of top 10 roleplaying games of all time! seriously, i cannot wait to embark on another journey with my scout again. my only complaint is that it wouldve been nice if this was on 3ds so we could have 3d while exploring and battling. other than that i am completely stoked!
Good, but jipped again
So DQM: Joker 2 is finally coming to North Amercia. I'm glad to hear it, I was interested in this game, and I'm happy to see it's coming out. But once again, Square-Enix has cut us short. This is just the regular version of the game, whereas in Japan they've had Joker 2 Professional for nearly 8 months now, which has extended gameplay and roughly 100 additional monsters, including some from other games like Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. I'm still happy to see the game is coming at all, but I'm upset that once again we've been given the worse of two versions only. Professional has been out in Japan for 8 months...there's no excuse why this couldn't have been skipped and only Professional released here, and yet I'm sure we'll never see it.
Time to begin a new journey!
Like collecting and battling monsters? You can't go wrong with DQM... The first game was really fun and engrossing to me, but based on what I've seen in videos of this game on youtube, this title seems to surpass the original imo. Cannot wait to get this.If you have any interest at all but have not played the first game, it is pretty cheap nowadays and it is a great place to start. I highly recommend!
Although I've only seen information about it here I enjoyed the second one enough to buy it without hesitation. And for those who don't know what I mean by the second, the first Dragon Quest Monsters game was on the GBA and only saw a Japan release. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker was the second DQM game and it finally saw a US release, and in my opinion it's bested every other monster catching game for ease of catching monsters, and getting the rare and powerful ones (that's what the monster synthesis is for, not to mention you can make a slime a decent combatant with the system as well). Also, since I have Dragon Quest VI and XI myself I won't have as much difficulty getting the 'extra' monsters that are only available through Tag Mode (the second DS was originally for Pokemon trades, but this further justifies it).
